"Ipod Cannot be Synced" -Please Help!!!

I must have spend hours reading forums and discussion boards trying to fix this.. No matter what I do to my Ipod or computer I get a "(My) Ipod could not be synced. Required disk could not be found." Please help me out!!

Sorry, I see your on a Windows machine. You would need to go to an Apple Store and plug it into a Mac. Then open the Disk Utility in the Utilities folder, select your iPod and click on Repair Disk.
Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility
I take it you tried resetting and/or restoring your iPod?

  • Ipod mini cannot be synced-Please Help

    Hi,
I can not sync music to my ipod from itunes because it keeps saying "The ipod cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found." I have already tried reinstalling my USB drive and it is still not working. The ipod shows up in itunes and then on my computer briefly then it disappears. PLEASE HELP

I am having the same problem and I don't know what to do about it! I have 916 songs on my computer but only 136 are transferring on to my ipod. I just started using a new computer and I tried synching it today for the first time and that's what happened. My itunes keeps freezing when this happens and then I have to restart my computer so it's frustrating. please if anyone knows what to do...

  • My iPod won't sync- PLEASE HELP!

Usually, when I plug my iPod into my computer, it automatically syncs itself. But lately, whenever I plug my iPod in, all it does is charge, it won't sync anything into my iPod. I've cleaned the USB cord and have checked my memory. It is NOT full. Could somebody please help?

I starting having the same problem all of a sudden two days ago. Not only won't my IPod Nano not sync automatically, but the Sync option under the "File" drp-down menu is shaded gray and inactive. I tried resetting the IPod, and no change...I ran the ITunes diagnostics and got an error message that says I have no device connected, yet the computer still charges the IPod through the USB connection. Unable to download any new music from ITunes, yet my ITunes account is still active; I still have my ITunes library and I can still purchase songs. I wonder is this an IPod problem or an ITunes problem?

  • Please help - "The iPod cannot be synced.  The disk could not..."

Hi there. I am sooo frustrated right now! When I try to sync my iPod I get this message:
"The iPod cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to" followed by "The iPod cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found."
I have done this a million times before and never gotten this. Please let me know if you have had this problem and what you did to solve it! I appreciate it a lot.

Yes, thank you so much. It takes me back to square 1, as the root of the problem can apparently be huge, but at least now I know where to start. Thank you!

  • HT1386 HELP -- "The ipod cannot be synced. The device is not connected"

Just got a 1st gen ipod & trying to Sync it, it just keeps saying "The ipod cannot be synced. The device is not connected" -- the device IS connected, it even says the ipod is there on iTunes, but won't Sync. Also, iTunes is up-to-date (just checked) so not that. Been trying since last night, so I know turning the PC off & back on or restarting doesn't work either.
It's also saying the HDD isn't connected -- which it is because I can access it & iTunes can play songs from it.
Not sure if this detail is of use, but I'm running Windows 7.... My iPod is running iOS 4.2.1
    Please help, im stuck! :-/
    PS.
This is my first ipod, so please don't assume I already know anything about Apple products -- I won't be offended if you go into ipod basics lol.

    Appears to be fixed.
Moved all music recorded at 128bit or less to different location.
Moved video files to different location.
Synced sections of iTunes collection individually: Only Music, then Podcasts, etc.
Seems to be working fine.  Apps also came over without changes.
????  Only thing missing is my PLAYLISTS.
????    Someone know where they reside on my old HD list and why they did not come over?

"I was thinking I would just connect my iPhone and all of my music and other stuff would transfer to the new computer. "
Not true. The music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You really should transfer everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your computer. Since you do not have access to the old computer, then use your backup copy of the old computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you would have to transfer itunes purchased as described earlier. Any other itunes content would be lost.
You can e-mail photo library pics to yourself, but they will not be of the original quality.
Before syncing, enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.

  • Have a 3rd gen nano, when I plug in  I get "Podcasts on this IPOD cannot be synced because all of the podcasts selected for syncing no longer exist." I have no podcasts in my IPOD or queued in library. Help pls. Thx

Wnen I plug in my IPOD, I gret the error message " Podcasts on this IPOD cannot be synced because all of the podcasts selected for syncing no longer exist. I have no podcasts in my IPOD or queued in I tunes at pfresent. When I did try to sync a current podcast, nothing happened although the podcasts did show in my library. I did play around with podcasts several months ago, but just listened to them on the computer, the IPOD was plugged in at times though, although not set up...thx

  • IPod cannot be synced. The disk could not be read or written to.

    I have...
G5 ipod video 30Gb formated to PC
    iBook G3 600MHz
    iTunes 7.1 (59)
    iPhoto 4.03
I use my ipod to contain all my videos, photos and music manually and nothing stored on the iBook itself, as it only has a small hard drive. I have a large amount of photos that I have in iphoto (a total of 3254 photos and 60 folders!) which I am using whilst travelling the world. I have recently started syncing photos to the ipod as a backup, also adding a copy of full res photos. This syncs fine and I have all photos on my ipod, but when I add more photos to iphoto and then plug in the ipod it will start to sync though itunes, but then will come up with an error stating "The ipod "NAME OF IPOD" cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to."
The ipod still has all the photos it originally had, but not the new ones.
I have tried deleting the file that is in the library that contains the information file, this forces the ipod to re sync and start all over again with adding the photos, which it will add the new photos, but the probelm will happen again as soon as more photos are added through iphoto!
Can anyone give any advice, I really can't format the ipod and start over agaian as I will lose all my music etc and I don't have enough room to store them elsewhere!!!
Please any help please! I really need to back these files up incase something goes wrong with the computer, then I will lose all my pictures!
    Help!
    Thanks
    Rob

    Hi Rob!
First off, it might be worth upgrading to the latest iTunes version, which is 7.1(15) (or at least I think that's what it is on a Mac... for Windows, it's 7.1.1.5).
Regardless, you can install the latest version of iTunes here:
    Download iTunes - 7.1.1.5
Also, if that doesn't seem to help with anything, have you seen the suggestions in this article?:
