IPod charger is broken, it goes on and off every time it moves, what's wrong?

My iPod charger is broken. My IPod 5 is fine, but the lightning cable may seem to be bent or just broken, it could be the wires but I'm not so sure.
Every time it moves back and forth the charging goes on and off, I'm not so sure what is happening

You should try another USB cable or get it serviced by Apple if a new cable does not work either.

    Power Cycle
Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.

  • HT201210 my iphone will not turn on, it shut off on its own and when i plug it in to charge the apple sign goes on and off. te sprint store told me to plug it into my laptop to reboot it bout it still wont tun on

    plz help

Issues booting are genenerally symptomatic with a corrupted operating system. I've seen this issue a lot recently with folks who have tried (unsuccessfully) to install the preview of iOS 7. If this is the case, once you get this issue resolved, I recommend you stick with iOS 6 until the new version is officialy released. If not then it just might be run of the mill corruption. Either way, you'll need to perform a DFU restore of the device. Check this video out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofpinyGlQ8I for instructions on how to do this. It will delete everything, but this is likely the only option you have at this point. If you have issues doing this or if a DFU restore does not resolve your issue you should head to the Apple Store Genius Bar with an appointment (call, or go to apple.com/retail) and they will assist you!

  • My remotes are not paired yet my remote is going with my computer and tv every time i move something on my tv it moves on my computer

My apple tv remote is not paired. So when I go to scroll on my tv it turns my computer up or turns music up? What am I doing wrong?

    Pairing is a bit confusing.
Remotes know nothing about pairing, only the devices do.
The assumption is that a remote has a 'serial number' which is emitted with the IR command.
If the device/computer is paired with a remote it ignores commands from remotes with different 'serial numbers'.
Therefore an unpaired device responds to any remote whether or not it's paired to a particular device.
    Options:
1 - pair the computer with a different remote and AppleTV with it's own remote.
2 - Disable IR receiver on computer - in Snow Leop[ard go to System Preferences>Security and on teh general tab you can disable remotes.  Not sure if the preference is somewhere else in Lion or still there.

  • HT201673 I would like to use cellular data for internet and my home network for printing, without having to cycle wireless on and off every time I print

the only internet connection I have at my home is a cellular  connection. It is very unproductive having to turn wifi on to print and then back off to reconnect to cell service. Looking for options. I own a linksys e2500 router that I currently network through, but it has no internet connection, as no home internet available in my area.

You can have a go using a wireless bridge.. eg the airport express will do this.. you can join it to the iphone wireless running as a hotspot.. and then plugged into the TC wan port.. the TC has to be setup in router mode.. so this is going to give you double NAT errors.. and of course errors for all the time the hotspot is turned off.. but it can work. However you might find it requires you to manually connect up each time.. If you are really going to try and do this you will manage it.. but how fiddly it becomes might put you off after a week.
You will chew up your 5GB very fast using any streaming media even radio. So be very careful to track the usage.
Apple should have built in the TC the ability to plug in a wireless 3G modem.. via the USB but Apple have ceased to do adventurous stuff.
If you give up the TC as main router there are plenty of better products on the market that will handle multiple wan connections.. !!

  • [59-429213] LTE Modem keeps swithcing on and off every 30seconds

I recently bought Lenovo Yoga 2 with Windows 8.1. Everything works great except lte modem. It keeps switching on and off every time I am using the internet connection. When tablet is resting, then modem is working, but when I'm trying to do something, browse the web for example, it starts to freak out. Modem disappears from Device Manager for couple of seconds and keeps on popping on again after 3-5 seconds. Then it tries to connect to the provider, then I've got the internet connection for about 30 seconds and the same thing all over again. Modem disappears from device manager, opening on again after 5 seconds and tries to reconnect (with success) with the provider and so on, and off, and on, and off. It is very frustrating and I tried to find some solution but unfortunately without success. Maybe you guys will have any idea what is going on. Thanks in advance.

You have to update the EM7345 firmware. What version do you have now ?

  • EA4500 Internet Port Cycles On and Off Every Few Second

I bought a EA4500 to replace my old WRT54G earlier this year.  At first the router worked fine.  After the automatic firmware upgrade to Cisco Connect Cloud, I was never able to get the Connect Cloud stuff to work, constant 500 Internal Server errors when trying to access the router with the Internet cable attached.  So I downgraded back to the old firmware and all was well again.  Then I started having problems a few months ago, when I would wake up in the morning, the router would be cycling the Internet port on and off.  I could usually reboot everything and it would work the rest of the day.  I lived with it like this a while, and support couldn't seem to find anything wrong.  Eventually it started getting worse, until the point I could hardly ever get it to stay connected.  I got Cisco to RA the old router and I figured problem solved.   Now while the EA4500 was gone, I used my WRT54G again, and everything worked fine for nearly two weeks while I was waiting on the replacement EA4500.
So today the new EA4500 showed up, I connected and configured it, and it worked for a short time.  Then suddenly I lost Internet, looked up at the modem and the LAN light was going on and off every few seconds.  So I'm back in the same boat as before.
I've tried changing cables, same setup works fine with the WRT54G.  Modem works fine with WRT54G and connected directly to the computer, zero problems.  I tried lowering the MTU, turning on MAC address cloning, and various other things.
My modem is a HughesNet HN9000.
Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly apprecaited.
    David

OK, the setup as is works fine with the WRT54G, just the EA4500 has the issue.  It started working again last night, and was working this morning.  It continued to work until about 3:15 PM today, and out of the blue, my computer came up and said the Ethernet connection went off, then it came back on, it did this several times...at the same time, I looked up at the modem, and the LAN light was going on and off on it also.  So the router was cycling both the Internet and Port 1 on and off.
My HN9000 has a static public IP, and the IP it's DHCP server gives out is one digit different than it's own IP.
My router is set this way, and this is what it gets if I switch the Internet to Automatic (DHCP):
    IPv4 Address: 97.xxx.xxx.194
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.252
    Default Gateway:  97.xxx.xxx.193
Then there are two DNS server addresses.  I've tried the router setup as Static IP or Automatic (DHCP) and the problem occurs either way.
The HN9000 seems to pass all incoming traffic straight to the router.
One the LAN side, the router is configured to give out IP's in the 192.168.1.x range, and I have some static leases set.  The router is 192.168.1.1.
Everything works with the computer connected directly to the modem, and with the WRT54G in place of the EA4500.
As far as calling Hughes, they won't support the router.  If it works without the router, and with another router, they will say it's a problem with the router, which I think it is, just not sure what.  Also, just to be clear, I do loose Internet access on my computer when the router acts up, but the HughesNet modem remains connected to the Internet.

  • Why does my ipod touch 5th gen not charge when plugged into my computer? (it keeps stuttering(lightning symbol next to bettery goes on and off literally every second))

so I have my ipod touch 5th gen connect and the little lightning symbol, next to the battery on the top left, keeps flashing on and off every second. I don't know what to do and also it doesn't show up on iTunes.

Hey Ed, Try trouble shooting 101. Do you have a different cable and/or charging device? If so, try the different cable first, then a different charging device. If the problem goes away, I'd say it's the cable, replace it. If with in 1 from date of purchase, Apple will replace for free if the cable is found to be defective. If the problem continues with a different cable or a different charging device, then the problem is with your iPod. With a strong light and a magnifying glass look in the iPod's charging port. Your looking for damage in and around the port. Is the port lose? (shouldn't be). Are pieces missing or damaged? Bent or damaged contact pins can do what you describe. Foreign debris, namely pocket lint or corrosion can also cause charging issues. If you see something like lint, try to blow it out, or if you must use a non-conductive probe, I find a round wooden toothpick works well to carefully remove the lint from the bottom of the port. Just be careful to not touch, bend or damage the gold contact pins on the long side of the port. Also make sure the locking pins on the short ends (looks like two silver bumps, one on each end) of the port are free to move. If you find corrosion, try plugging / unplugging about 12 times to clean the contacts off. If you must use a cotton swab cut to fit, with a drop of 91% isopropyl alcohol on it, you want it damp, not wet, then plug it in and out until the swab comes out clean. You will most likely need several swabs. If you find nothing physically wrong, then try resetting your iPod. If that does not work, restore from backup, last resort, make a backup then restore to new, a full factory restore. If issue continues see your Apple store and have it evaluated for a possible hardware issue. But start with a different or new cable. Good luck, Cheers.

  • My iPod will not charge at all it will when it's off it will power on and charge to a certain pint then will stop and no longer charge what is its problem I've tried 3 cords and three different outlets and also in my computer! What is wrong with it?

My iPod will not charge at all it will when it's off it will power on and charge to a certain pint then will stop and no longer charge what is its problem I've tried 3 cords and three different outlets and also in my computer! What is wrong with it?it won't charge when it's powered on only when it s off then it turns on and stops charging?? What's wrong with it ad how much is a Genius Bar appt at apple stores??

    Not Charge
    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Charger going on and off

My charger has randomly stopped working right. the light goes on and off, usually off. if i press hard on the box part of the charger then the light will come back on. i'm assuming the connection isn't being made well, since it seems to increase with pressure.
I know I'll probably just have to replace the charger. I've had this one for a year. I had the one before for 2/3 years. Is it typical for a charger to bite the dust after only a year or could this be a defect?

The lights on the MagSafe adapters tend to die. What's more important is whether the adapter is charging/powering the computer. If so, you really have nothing to worry about.

  • Ipad 4 while on charger flickers and goes on and off

Just bought a refurbished Ipad 4 ( Netherlands ) and I did the update to IOS 8.
Installed my apps and all and I put it on the charger ( original ).
Opened an app, and screen goes on and off. Even went out after I tried again.
Have tried to reset the tablet and started again with my account, but problem remains.
What seems to be the problem? Can anybody help me with this issue?
    Thanks,
    Bedankt

    Stop using it
Take it to Apple and ask them to check it out

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
