Ipod claims to have synced but didnt transfer songs to ipod

i will connect to itunes and it will go through all four syncing steps but once i eject it the songs that show up on itunes do not show up on my actual ipod . and the purchased playlist shows up on my ipod but not on itunes . so theres something wrong with the connection between the two . i have already tried to switch cords HELP HELP HELP

Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

  • New to this, I have 100's of song on my PC. when i click on the song it ask where to send, I click on E drive witch is my ipod, it say it is sync. but never goes on my ipod, whay am I doing wrong (not through itunes)

Help, I have cd's that I have burned on my pc and want to move them to my ipod 6th. it shows syncing but nver makes it through. What am I doing wrong?  Yes it is the little square one

OK have you got the latest iTunes installed?
Now decide if you want all the music in iTunes or only some of it, this can't be undone if you transfer all so you might want to hold off on that for now.
Now copy the tracks you want on your iPod to a folder on your desktop, name the folder whatever you want, and the in iTunes files click on add folder to iTunes and point it at that folder.
Music added and now sync the music to your iPod.
This is just a stopgap as you figure out how you want to manage your music with iTunes, something to do while you read the guide.  That's where you'll find out how to put all your music in iTunes but wait on that till you're sure what you want.

Palm TX will sync but not transfer data after installing 64bit drivers for Windows 7 using the USB cable. Does anyone have any advise?
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

@MikeNTxs - 64bit USB drivers have been available since April of 2010, and they do work. I've synced successfully to my Vista64 bit laptop many times via USB.
See the sticky thread at the top of this section titled "64bit Palm Desktop drivers are here!"

If you have all of the songs and videos still in your library I would recommend doing the restore of the iPod.

  • Will not transfer songs to iPod from iTunes Library

I'm using an iPod mini (without video) and trying to sync with music on my Windows 2000 desktop. I've ripped music from my CD's and added them into the iTunes library. I'm saving my library on a network space. I plug in my iPod and auto-sync. The iPod appears to be syncing, but does not actually add any music. All the songs have checkmarks next to them, so that's not the problem. I've also tried to manually manage the music and drag the music to the iPod and the same thing happens. It's synced up the playlists I've created, but there isn't any music actually transferred to the iPod.
    Any suggestions?

I updated the software on my iPod Shuffle and now it does not recognize any of my songs from the iTunes Library that were previously easily available. All the songs, except two recently added cd's, have an exclamation mark next to them. When researching, it says the files are no longer found ... I have to physically inport each song all over again in order for iTunes to recognize them ... what a pain that will be ... not very happy. I should not have updated the software and avoided all the hassle with re-importing my music. also not sure how to remove all of the exclamation marked music in my iTunes library. Not sure if this is the same issue you experienced??

Do you mean you do not have a backup of your stolen computer?

  • Update 10-01-2006 not working?  Can't transfer songs to iPod.

From reading the forums, it looks as though I've made the mistake of downloading the update. When I connect my iPod nano, I just get the "Do not disconnect" message for ever, but iTunes never recognizes my iPod. The most it says is that I need to install the update, which I've already done. I'm using a PC, if that helps. I've tried the R's, that doesn't seem to work. The iPod itself still works, just can't transfer songs to it. Is this something with the iPod, or the software?
I saw that a similar question was asked a while ago, with many answers including a "suggestion" to start a new thread, so here I go. Any help is of course appreciated. Thanks.

    Further update.
When plugging in iPod into computer, iPod just continues to say "Do Not Disconnect". iTunes will not recognize it at all. Further, when trying to safely disconnect, keep getting message that the device is busy, so cannot safely disconnect other than shutting down computer.
iPod is still usable, but won't hold charge more than a couple of hours. What is going on?

    Hi Becki ..
You need to "authorize" the Mac.
Launch iTunes on the Mac then from the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Authorize This Computer.
Now, using the same Apple ID as you used to purchased iTunes media originally, you should be able to sync all your content.

  • I updated my Touch to 6.0.1 or .2 but now I cannot get my music back on my Ipod. I have sync'd and dragged and dropped and stood on my head in the yard at night during a full moon. Nothing is working. Help before the neighbors complain.

I bought a new laptop over the holidays and decided to finally get my itunes set up on it. I went to itunes and purchased four new songs all excited. I plugged in my...I think..fifth generation ipod touch to the computer. I had the usually update box appear. I decided to do the complete update. I see there are updates to 6.0.1 or 6.0.2. I thought it said 6.0.1.  All went well.
l have been able to sync a few times. I now have those four new songs on my ipod. I still have music that appears on my computer in itunes and I am able to play it there. I just cannot figure out how to get my music onto my touch. I spent hours trying to figure it out last night. I am so frustrated. What am I missing here? Can anyone help? Please.

Okay. I hope I can remeber all my steps exactly because I fixed my own problem...with absolutely no help from Apple. I opened itunes. I connected my ipod touch to my computer. On my itunes page that shows my songs in the upper right side under the search library box there is an itunes button and since I am connected there is an ipod button. DO NOT CLICK THE ARROW in the ipod button...just click in the mail part of the button. On mine it opened to a summary page that gave info on my ipod. The menu bar has Summary, Apps, Tones, Music and more. I clicked on the Music button. I chose to Sync the entire music library. That replaced what was on my ipod but what was on there was going to be put back on so I was okay with it. I then clicked the Sync button on the lower right side and it sync'd and all my songs are on my ipod again. I hope this might help someone else. Good luck.
