Ipod classic 160g doesn't sync Itunes 11.0.4 (4)

Since I updeted the Itunes I noticed that it crash at the end of the syncing with the ipod 160g classic, some songs were not trasfered, I tried to restore the ipod many time, re-install de Itunes many times, change the settings from automatic to manual when I sync, I erase the preferences of itunes, and Nothing.
I did the Test to check the hard drive and this are the results
Retracts:1
Reallocs: 0
Pending sectors: 0
Power on Hours: 33
Strats/Stops: 3912
Temp current: 34c
Temp Min: 53c
Temp max: 254c
I noticed that Temp max:254c is wired
I always noticed that the Itunes crash at the end of the sync, bot it doesn't store the all the music only 200 songs from 11500 aprox.
Do somebady has an idea how to fix it?

After 3 days dealing with the problem and searching all the tutorials over there. I found a weird solutions. But I want to tell you all my process just in case that this could help you.
I try the tutorials that apple support offer, and I try some of the tutorials from the next links:
http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/ipodsupport/erase/index.shtml
http://geeknizer.com/how-to-fix-corrupted-ipod/
http://www.macworld.com/article/1151428/itunes_uninstall.html
Nothing work until this point. Also I reinstall Itunes from zero. I try everything carefully and I was conscious not to damage the ipod. However when I finally was thinking to quit.
I decided to sync the ipod in the old Macbook 2006, but the harddrive doesn't have enough capacity so I decided to sync the songs that I purchased form Itunes. Surprise surprise everything was ok. I decided to return to the Imac to do the same and surprise surprise no problems only with the songs from apple store. That makes me think that maybe something in the library was the cause of the problem.
I decided to sync manually the music (big deal because I have 11450 song aprox). However I started little by little adding songs by album checking mark boxes in the albums classification, maybe 200-500 per time.
I noticed that in one group of songs (the album named "Various Artist" the unknown artis for an album name !!) showed the crash behavior with Itunes, so I decided to skip that album and continue, I succeed and at that time I almost finish my library.
I returned to check that album classification and I noticed that It contained four albums and random songs, some of them showed strange look (albums divided in a wrong way even though I downloaded from a original cd), but I stop in a particular album (one that my brother shared with me from mp3 files) I deleted and after that I finished the library.
I finally synced 10400 songs from 11450. I checked and the rest of the songs are related with some English courses and multimedia files but I'm still losing 1000 songs over there. I think I will erase my full library from Itunes and import the songs again to create a new fresh library.
But now almost my full library is in the iPod. I have been modifiying the content of my playlist and it doesn't show the crashed problem.
I hope this culd helped you and Good Luck!

  • Ipod Classic 160Gb doesn't Sync at all

Hello my friends . I have a 160 GB iPod Classic that I can not sync with itunes , the songs take forever to be transferred and at the end got an error message .

I had the same symptoms years ago with my old HDD based iPod, but I'll save this for last ...
I'll work under the presumption you have already power cycled the iPod.
First, check your connectors. A bent pin, a dirty lead, something not plugged in firmly can and has lead to transfer problems.
Second, check USB wire itself - especially around the stress points for any compromises or tears. Again, this can lead to transfer problems.
Third, change USB ports. Sometimes peripherals suddenly don't want to play nice with a particular USB port.
Fourth, reboot your machine. Most iTunes sync issues often end up being solved by a reboot of the computer.
Fifth, do a hard reset (not a restore) of the iPod.
If none of those work, and I cannot say this with 100% certainty, but I fear that your hard drive could be failing. My iPod experienced the same errors and slow transfer issues right before it gave me the big triangle exclamation mark on the screen and never came back no matter what I did.
Put your iPod to your ear while transferring and listen carefully for anything that doesn't sound like smooth spinning and the read head moving freely.
If you hear any repetitive clicks or pops, or a rhythmic ticking - the drive is probably kaput. Try not to let the iPod power down (it may never come back on) and try to off load as much data as you can.

  • My Ipod Classic (160G) no longer synchs completely with iTunes (93G).  Have reset and restored to no avail.  AM about to try roll back to a previous version of iTunes, which has been on auto update.

My iPod Classic (160G) used to sync flawlessly with iTunes (93G).
Recently, there seem to be fewer folders syncing.  In particular, it is not syncing more recent adds.  It also occassionally refuses to sync at least one mp3 downloaded from  Amazon.com, giving an unable to sync message with an error code or 50.
I'm running iTunes version 10.7, and the software (2.04) on myiPod is current.
I only use the iPod for music.  I have only one playlist.
Reset and restore did not fix the problem; I'm considering rolling back to a previous version of iTunes.  Are there any other  ideas to consider?
    Please advise.
    Thanks,

iTunes and its sync process with your iPod have been know to choke once the amount of data that needs to be transferred, replaced, or updated, reaches a certain size limit in GBs.

  • Unexpected error (-50) while syncing ipod classic 160G

I just upgraded my PC last weekend and copied all my music from my old PC to the new one.
After I installed the latest itunes on my new PC, I used it to restore my ipod and syncing music.
There are more than 3000 songs at all. But the ipod always stucked after a while and then report an unexpected error(-50).
I tried restore the ipod and sync again. It then stucked in a different song.
I also tried using the USB port both in the front and in the back. Also failed.
    It got me crazy!
My ipod model is ipod classic 160G.
I brought it on May, 2010.
Operation system: Windows 7 Ultimate (x64)
Dose anyone have the same problem?
    I need a solution, please.

Error -50 can be caused by USB connection bad -
normally if connected to the low power USB 1.0 port at the front of the PC.
Bad USB cable -try and get another good cable.
Other USB devices overloading the host controller, causing a timeout - Discoonect all otrher USB devices.
Antivirus or other plugins conflict with iTunes - Stop the Antivirus and plugins,
Disconnect from Internet, as malware and other broswer plugins interferes with the Sync.
Dying Hardisk - Do the iPod Disk diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but it help in troubleshooting.

  • My ipod charges, but doesn't sync to itunes

My iPod charges, but doesn't sync with iTunes.

This is the Mac OS X Technologies > iSync forum - you are a Windows user.
iSync is a Mac-only application for syncing Contacts and Calendars to mobile phones and PDAs. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Windows, iPods or iTunes.
Try posting in the iTunes for Windows forum.

Cured the problem! Reinstalled an earlier version of itunes from oldapps.com (version 10) now everything works as it should. I would suggest that if you are experiencing these problems that you do the same. I must say that it is a brave business decision on behalf of apple to effectively lock out all windows 7 users from their products and sales channels and I can only wish them luck in this very shortsighted policy.

Plug it in and follow the onscreen directions. That you previously had an iPod doesn't matter.

I'm having a similar problem. I connect my iPod to my computer, iTunes recognizes, says do not disconnect, synching iPod, but it takes forever, even though I only have like 2 new songs in iTunes. Running iTunes 7.1.1 and 60GB iPod.

  • HT1923 Hi, my Ipod classic is not reflecting in Itunes (latest version) but I can see it in Computer as a hard disk. Kindly assist

    Hi,
My Ipod classic is not reflecting in Itunes which I have recently downloaded but it reflects in my computer as a hard disk.
    Please give me a solution.
    Thanks

Try Resetting Your iPod while it's connected to the computer.
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.
Also see these (if you haven't found them already):
Your Windows PC doesn't recognize iPod
iPod does not appear in iTunes or on the desktop
iPod appears in Windows Explorer but does not appear in iTunes

  • HT2553 My ipod classic 160gb cannot be synced by my windows vista. the library is copied alright but cannot be synced into the ipod; HELP! !

My ipod classic 160gb cannot be synced by my windows vista computer. The library is copied alright, but the ipod cannot be synced; Help! How can I overcome this, please?

    Hi, Chris,
    I mean, when I load my itune library as usual and the syncing starts, I get the problem as described as follows;
When I try to sync, I see the songs being copied then I get a message, say after about 45minutes, that, itunes cannot read the ipod contents because the ipod data drive is corrupt. I have tried different things to no avail. It is very fraustrating, and if I may say so, very disturbing.
I hope somebody can help me, for I can see now that, many people have got similar problems and they haven't been able to solve. I understand this is a common ipod problem and many people have had to abandone their ipods after such problems. It is very hurting because ipods are very expensive to buy, and so to write it off like that is very dis-heartening.

  • IPod Classic 160GB not recognized by iTunes

I have an iPod Classic 160GB in version 2.0.4 that is not recognized by itunes.
It's about 2 years old and had presented a few problems with sincying in the past, but I hadn't tried to sync it for a while.
I've transfered all the music from my Windows PC to my Mac, and the iPod was Windows formated.
It started presenting a problem to transfer all my music content from iTunes (Mac) to the iPod, but after severel hours, it only transfered a few hundreded. I've tried it several times.
So, I tried to restore it, both in Windows and Mac PCs, but the problem persisted. A hard reset didn't solve it either.
But now I have a bigger problem. The iPod is not recognized by the iTunes anymore, and the program freezes anytime I try to connect ir. As soon as it is disconnected, everything is back to normal. But the Ipod always reboots.
It is recognized in the desktop tough.
Here's what I've already tried unsuccesfully:
    1. Hard Reset.
    2. Put it in disk mode. Still not recognized.
    3. Use Disk Utility. The disk verification says everything is in order. I've erased all content as well as format it in Mas OS Extended (Journaled). Later I've tried to erase it again but now displays a message error saying it cannot unmount the disk.
    4. Used differente USB ports.
    5. Saw all Apple support solutions. None worked.
    6. Researched a whole bunch of forums, including this one. Noticed a lot of people with the same problem, but had difficulty finding one more recent, so I decided to open a new discussion.
I would really appreciate any suggestions.
    Ipod Classic 160GB (2.0.4)
    Itunes (10.6)
    Mac OS Snow Leopard.
    Windows XP.

It seems to be working now. Amazing!
I would like to thank you both for the help, CaliforniaHighwaysGuy and AncientMumu.
Here's what I did. I wasn't getting folder acces from my Windows XP because it was Macintosh formated.
So I connected it again to the Mac and used an online tutorial to be able to access the hidden files through Terminal. (I'm not sure if it's allowed to post links to tutorials from other sites, but I'll look into the rules and post, if possible).
Had to relaunch FInder a few times as it stopped responding from time to time. Went to iPod_Control > iTunes and erased all the files.
Disconnected the iPod, as it was still not recognized by iTunes (10.6).
Connected it to my Windows, wich has the 10.4 version of iTunes. Restored (Windows format) it and disconnected.
Went back to the Mac, and it was recognized. I Didn't restore it.
I've already transfered one album and it synced just fine. (One of the problems I was having is that the music transfer was really slow).
Already reconnected the iPod and it was once again recognized after a few seconds.
I really appreciate all the help.
I'll try to updated this post in a few days saying if it's still working properly.

  • TS1363 iPod classic no longer recognised in iTunes (v11)

I have an 80gb iPod classic that, since I upgraded iTunes to the latest version in December 2012, no longer gets recognised within iTunes, so I cannot sync it anymore.
I am running a PC on windows 7, with iTunes v11 (the latest version as I have removed and replaced it several times in the last 24 hours).
My PC does recognise the iPod in "My Computer".
I have spent hours trying all sorts of Apple Troubleshooting guides, to no avail.
First I tried the reset: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/classic/
Then I went through each of these steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363
I've also tried various different apple USB cables, and different USB ports on my PC.
My iPhone 4 connects no problem.
My iPod Classic used to connect no problem until I downloaded the latest / current version of iTunes.
Other than not being able to sync my ipod with itunes, the ipod works and behaves totally normal...
    VERY frustrating. PLEASE help.
    Thanks.

  • IPod Classic 160g -- movie playback sometimes jerk and jump

I rip a lot of old movies using HandBrake and load them on my brand new iPod Classic 160G. I've noticed that the picture of this movie or that will jerk and jump. In other words, frames will jump ahead in a jerky manner out of sync with the sound. It's more of an irritation than a monstrous problem, but I had never experienced this phenomenon with my original iPod Classic 60 gig. Has anyone else noticed this curious problem?

It seems to be the hard drive. go and run the diagnostics https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3784647?tstart=0.

ILOST MY PHOTOS ON IPOD CLASSIC AFTER I START SYNC THEM ON ITUNNES AND IT GIVES THIS MASAGE
IT SAYS pHOTOS FOLDER SYNCING HAS BEEN DISABLED FOR T IPOD BECAUSE THE FOLDER " XX" CAN NOT BE FOUND
AND AFTER THAT I DID NOT SEE MY PHOTOS ON IPOD

Is the computer that you allowed the iPod to Sync with the same one that you originally synced with, or a different one?
If it is the same computer, then the photos should still be on the computer. So once again, what happened to the photos folder that was on the computer?
If it is a different computer, then I think iTunes has removed the photos, along with the music.
You can only Sync an iPod with one iTunes Library. If you attempt to Sync with a second computer, iTunes will warn you that everything will be removed from the iPod and only content from the second Library will be on the iPod.
