IPod Classic 80 gb wont connect using usb 2.0 PC Card

I just bought a new iPod classic 80gb, I went to connect it to my Powerbook using a zonet zun2200 32bit pc card for usb 2.0 the iPod detects the connection, shows connecting do not disconnect and within 20 sec shows ejecting you may now disconnect without ever showing in finder or itunes. If I connect it using usb 1.1 it works fine, just really slow. It is not the iPod, I exchanged it for another and this one does the same thing.

  • My ipod classic (160 gb) wont connect to my itunes.

ive downloaded the latest update of itunes, and when i plug my ipod in it says on the ipod it is connected but does not show up in my itunes library. I had to reset it to factory settings yesterday , would this have anything to do with it?

Thanks for the info, I see that all software are uptodate.
Try the Hard reset on the iPod
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the  next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
    Then release the buttons
    Select your preferred language.

If this doesn't help, try a Restore/Update the iPod software.
if your music is MP3, then google "MP3 validator", download and  then run it, this will fix the ID3 tag coruuption, which causes the song skipping.
    Good Luck!

used wrong charger with ipod classic, now it wont turn on, displays the low battery icon even though its connected to the wright adapter.
    Can anyone help ?
    please?

WHow long have you left it to charge?  Have you tried resetting it after a short period of time to see if that can help jumpstart the charging process? To do this, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • Can I charge my ipod classic in Germany with the same usb wall charger I use in the USA, by plugging it directly into the correct adapter plug? Or do I need a power converter/transformer?

I will be in Germany for a year. I want to take my ipod classic and charge it with a usb wall charger, like I do here in the USA. Can I simply use the correct wall adapter plug for Germany, or must I use a power converter/transformer in between?

It should work as long as the prongs adapter are adapted to the outlet configuration.

  • Please help! I'm unable to access content on my iPod Classic while it is connected to iTunes. The iPod itself shows up and is set to manual management, but I am unable to view or play any of the content on it (music, movies, podcasts etc.).

I'm unable to access content on my iPod Classic while it is connected to iTunes.
The iPod itself shows up and is set to manual management, but I am unable to view or play any of the content on it (music, movies, podcasts etc.).
I can click the tabs Music, Movies etc. but I can't see anywhere to access the files themselves, no music or movies are listed, I only have the option to 'Sync' with the iTunes, which I don't want to do as there is no content on the iTunes!!!
I just downloaded the iTunes program.
    Very confused, pleaseee help ...

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

I've run diagnostics. Can't find device. I've tried resetting. The toggle has been turned on and off.

Cable works fine on my other iPod. Reset by pressing menu and center button together for 6-10 seconds. Left it to charge for many hours. Started acting up while running. Suddenly the music stopped playing but my Nike + was still working for the rest of my run. Took it straight it home and plugged it in to the wall to recharge since the battery was fairly low. Looked like it recharged ok but then screen went blank and now does it not show up on iTunes, does not seem to recharge by the wall charger (apple wall charger plugged into a surge protector in India). I have turned the hold switch off and on many times.
Sounds like a repair issue, which is not easy to do in India :(

My ipod touch (4th) suddenly wont connect to my wifi. It connected fine before and all of my other electronics (tablets, computers, laptops, gaming systems, etc.) are connected and working completely fine. I tried turning the wifi setting on my ipod on/off as well as the actual ipod itself. I also tried resetting the network settings but neither of these options worked. Any suggestions on what I should do?

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Transfer all of your content to the computer:
Tunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
Then try turning the device off and on again. I'd leave it off for 10-15 minutes, but that is up to you:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If the item is still there, you may need to restore the device:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Hope that helps . Worst case scenario, you may need to write into iTunes support to see if they can also help!!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

My ipod ejects itself, immediately after connecting with usb cable, before synchronizing could start. What’s wrong?

Have you tried plugging the iPod in with a different USB sync cable to verify the issue is not with the cable?  It might not also hurt to connect it to another USB port as well.
Otherwise, try manually placing the iPod into Disk Mode and then connecting it to your PC.

  • Connecting with USB 2.0 PC Card

I've got a Sony 505 laptop with a Micro Innovations / HP PC card that has two USB 2.0 ports and a 6 and 4 pin firewire port. The card has it's own power supply, so it's not an issue of whether the mini has power via the port. Problem I'm having is that I only got it to successfully connect once, and I'm not sure what did the trick. The computer finds it when I plug it in, but it shows up as a USB Mass storage device and it intermittently says it can't start the device and there's problems with the new hardware. I've done the reset trick, I've installed the latest iTunes.

Yeah, after seeing the dozens of posts on here basically focusing on the problem of getting it to connect using USB, I picked up the firewire cable and it worked perfectly the first time.
