IPod Classic and Nike + iPod Sport Kit

Will an iPod Classic work for the Nike + iPod Sport Kit?
Why does the Nike + iPod Sport Kit only work for iPod Nano and iPod Touch?

No.

Only those iPods contain the firmware needed to use it, likely because iPods with a hard drive such as the iPod classic are much more vulnerable to drops and other hard impacts than iPods which use flash media.

  • ITunes immediately ejecting my two iPod Classics and my Ipod Nano (6gen)

ITunes ejects my two iPod Classics and my iPod nano (6th gen). All synced fine a few days ago, never had any problems. None of them are used as disks. If I uninstall iTunes, they will mount and I can see all three of them in Disk Utility. Verify Disk ➔ no problems. If I open iTunes, all three are disconnected by iTunes before they show up in the program. And they are ejected by Disk Utility such that the Mac no longer sees them.
IPhone 5 on the latest software, iPhone 6+ and iPad 3 all sync just fine.
Tried deleting all the com. preferences, etc. Uninstalling and re-installed iTunes twice, trashed SyncServices file, no resolution. Seems to me it's something to do with iTunesHelper refusing the connection between the iPods.
Running Yosemite 10.10.2, could be the update to the pre-release beta that did it. Or could be installing Last.fm Scrobbler, but that was completely eliminated, so I'm guessing it's the pre-release beta.
    Any suggestions?

The answer is rolling back to 10.10.1 from Time Machine. Doing that solved my problem.

  • WE have 2 Ipod classics and 1 IPod touch. One of the classics is not recognised by itunes library under devices and cannot be synchrinised with a playlist

We have 2 Ipod classics and 1 Ipod touch. One of the classics is not recognised by the itunes library and therfore canoot be synchonised with a playlist.

The second shuffle cannot be recognized by this computer ("USB Device Cannot be Recognized") so I don't think I'm able to reset it using that (it says "iPod is not recognized by iTunes, but is *visible in My Computer or in Device Manager* on a Windows PC, or in Apple System Profiler on a Mac.")
Like I said though, it works on other computers just fine and is visible so I don't quite understand what's up with this computer.

  • Ipod classic and nike sports kit

    hi,
can anyone tell me if the ipod classic is compatible with the nike sports kit, importantly if its not why not?
i spent a considerable amount of money purchasing what i thought was a premium product and it would now appear that it will not even support something that a cheaper ipod (nano) will, how can this be so?
    cheers

The iPod classic is not compatible with the iPod sport kit, likely because its hard drive is much more vulnerable to being dropped than an iPod nano's flash media.

  • IPod Video and Nike + iPod Sport Kit

Does the sport kit work with the video ipod? If not, id there going to be a new version to use with it?

The fifth generation's iPod firmware does not work with the iPod sport kit, possibly because the hard disk on that model of iPod is much more vulnerable to the iPod being dropped than the iPod nano's flash media is.

  • IPod Classic and Nike+

    Hey all,
First post on the Apple forums. After resisting for many years, I broke down and bought an iPod Classic a little over a month ago. I would like to know if there are any rumors about getting the Nike+ device to be compatible with the Classic.
Thanks in advance, as I've had no luck with Google.
    Best,
    DF

Unfortunately we aren't allowed to discuss rumors here on Apple's discussion forums.
Specifically, *"speculations or rumors about unannounced products."*
    Sorry.

  • IPhone and Nike Plus sport kit

I was under the impression NEW iPhone would work nike sport kit. I stopped the AT&T store they did not have a clue. (the APPLE store was too far away).
There several apps that seem to function very similar to the nike Sport kit. Any ideal which is the best or NIKE will be make an app for iphone
    Noppie

    Hi Noppie,
The last word from Apple PR in the news was that the Nike+ Sports Kit was only compatible with the 2nd Generation iPod touch and all the iPod nanos. There's no word on iPhone 3G support, and it looks quite unlikely, since even though the iPod touch has essentially the same software as the iPhone 3G, the iPod touch has that Nike+ adaptor built-in, while the iPhone 3G does not, not even in newly-manufactured models after that announcement.
If you must have the nike+, I recommend the iPod nano. It's smaller, has longer battery life, and it's the cheapest iPod with nike+ support. If you're patient, you may wait and see if the next iPhone has Nike+ built-in, or if the current model will support it.
If you want to use the apps on the app store, I can't say I've tried them, so just read the reviews. I feel as if they are a bit gimmicky, but that's my opinion, and I've never bought one yet, so don't take my word.
    Hope this helps!

  • 30g iPod classic and 8g iPod nano and iTunes

I have been running very well with my 30g classic. I got an 8g nano as an award. I had just upgraded iTunes, tried hooking the nano up and now nothing works! iTunes never did find the nano. Did the r,r,r,r,r thing but could only reset because iTunes can not see the nano. Later I was syncing the 30g and was ejecting it and got a message stating it could not be ejected as there are files on it being used by another program. Did the 5R's on he 30g, the unit was syncing and the battery went low and interrupted the sync. Now iTunes can't see the 30g or the 8g. I did a reinstall of iTunes and still nothing. This is driving me to drink, HELP if you can. hank, reo52.............

Well, I sent the Nano in, it came back, Apple found no problems with it. When trying to sync it acted as before. With Apple on the phone I tried syncing to my wifes machine!?? I'll be dammed it synced right up!???! Well Apples says it works because it works on my wifes machine!! Well, why wont it work on my PC?!!. Both machines are running up to date iTunes, both have the same firewalls and virus programs and both are running XP with all service packs and updates installed. Now I can work around this for awile but I have got to get that Nano to sync with my machine. Help if you can and Thanks again, reo52

  • I recently connected my new ipad to my itunes, but now itunes will not recognise my ipod classic, and 50gig of music has gone. ipad connects ok but no longer ipod which has been there for two years! help!!!

I recently connected my new ipad to my itunes, but now itunes will not recognise my ipod classic, and 50gig of music has gone. ipad connects ok but no longer ipod which has been there for two years! help!!!

What happens when the iPod is plugged in?  anything?  any errors?
Why is 50GB of music gone?  All music should exist on the computer.  Only a fool would rely on a single device which could easily be lost or stolen to store their content on.

  • HT1657 I rented a movie to add onto my ipod classic and when I moved it to my ipod it is no longer there and it is no longer in my purchased section on my itunes.

I recently rented a movie to add on my ipod classic and it wasn't transferring when I would sync so I manually move it to my ipod but when I go on my ipod it is not there and it is no longer in my purchases on itunes.  help!

Is this on your computer or on iPad/iPhone ? If you are on an iPad or iPhone then it should have downloaded into the Videos app - iTunes on those devices is just the iTunes store, and if you just see the Ts & Cs link on the Downloads tab then that means that there are no outstanding downloads waiting.

  • I have an ipod classic and just had to replace my old laptop.  When purchasing tunes, while they show up on my laptop they no longer sync to my ipod.  can anyone help?

I have an ipod classic and just had to replace my laptop.  When I purchase music, while it downloads to my laptop, it no longer syncs to my ipod.  Any ideas?

There's a whole lot to read in your post, and frankly I have not read it all.
Having said that, this troubleshooting guide should help:

In particular, pay attention to the mobile device support sections near the bottom, assuming you have already done the items above it.
