Ipod classic froze while loading game

yeah i was trying to play a game but it froze, it kept playing the song but once it finished that stopped too, so now its just frozen on the loading screen. i plugged it into my computer and the little safley remove hardware things there but it doesnt show up on anything else. when itunes eventually realises that there is an ipod attached it just says that it needs to be restored. when i click this the only thing that happens is that itunes freezes too. how can i fix this?

I also have stability problems with my iPod, often related to iQuiz.
My iPod however is a 3rd gen Nano with the latest firmware update.
I observe two kinds of crashes:
a) about once every two hours when actively using the iPod, i. e. not just listening to music but also doing things like changing IQ settings, searching songs, selecting playlists, playing games, ...)
=> the iPod suddenly reboots and then functions as usual.
b) happened twice in ca. 2 months when playing iQuiz:
=> The Nano freezes completely.
There's a loud buzzing sound for the headphones.
The screen shows the iQuiz layout but no text.
The iPod does not respond at all, also not to resetting like "hold on-off, then pressing menu and enter for 6-8 seconds".
The only fix I have found is to let the battery run empty. Then recharge.
I have restored factory settings with no success. I have had multiple crashes of type a) since then, and the second crash of type b) was after the factory reset.
As far as I recall the crashes started after a firmware-upgrade to 1.1.3.
Unfortunately I found no way to downgrade firmware for the iPod.
In general iQuiz seems to be a buggy game.
- iQuiz Music Quiz 2 asks misleading questions for compilations: Like "Song xyz was recorded in ...?" But the date asked for is that of the compilation. So Music Quiz doesn't filter out compilations or albums with "Best of", "Greatest Hits", ... in the title.
- Sometimes the song that I am asked about is not playing back: Like "The title of this song is ...?", but then there is nothing to be heard.
Still, no matter how buggy iQuiz is, the iPod should not crash.
But I have also had crashes when exiting from playlists. So the stability problems are not solely related to games and iQuiz specifically.

Why are you not wanting to reset it? You could try connecting it to iTunes for syncing and then properly ejecting it to see if that helps.

Reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again.

IPod Classic freezes while adding songs when only half-filled

I'm trying to be as detailed for best results.
I have an 80 GB iPod Classic. Running on 4 years since I purchased it. Treated well, not overplayed, charged frequently, etc.
Recently I've had problems when it comes to adding music, however. At a certain point when the harddrive is filled (somewhere close to 50%), it seems to not be able to add any more songs. For instance, I have somewhere around 6,000 songs in my iTunes library. After restoring and trying to copy over them all, the system hangs at just around 5,500 tracks. Then it is unable to sync. Then it is unable to eject. Then it is an annoyance.
After a very frustrating day of attempting to figure out the problem, I have concluded what is NOT the problem.
USB ports - I've used all of them, tested with other devices, have never had problems in the past
USB cable - switched between two different ones. I've been able to connect and edit titles/album art without any problem
iTunes - used a third party software to manage iPod and it had the same problem; I've also updated, reinstalled and downgraded to various versions as well
Corrupt song/file - While iTunes may hang on a certain song when bulk syncing, trying again doesn't affect it.
Diagnostics issue - used information found on these forums to check diagnostics levels and the numbers all look fine
Uploading too many songs at once - I've gone through and uploaded each album INDIVIDUALLY and had the same problem around the same track number. I've even uploaded about 5,000 songs, ejected, hooked up and tried to continue later in the day and it still will eventually freeze up.
That's about all I can think of. As of now my musical library just barely fits into this half-hearted iPod. I would really like to figure out if there's a fixable problem before I invest in more digital media.
Is there any reason why my iPod would just sort of give up when the harddrive is half-filled?

I have an i pod classic 80GB (with the wheel) I think it's 5th generation
I would start a Sync, it would sync 2 or 3 songs then stop or hang up, which did not interfere with any other function, so I would not say it froze.
Once I ended the sync by clicking on the X next to the sync progress bar at the top of the window, I ejected the ipod and then plugged it in again. Then I selected my i pod under Devices in the menu on the left-hand side of iTunes. Clicked on the summary tag. Clicked on "Manually manage music and videos" Clicked ok and apply.
When in manual mode, you cn drag songs from iTunes to the device icon in the sidebar. Once I downloaded the song or songs or album that was causing the problem, I then unselected manual load, and everything else was able to sync normally on automatic mode.

Ipod Classic Froze and won't Restore (Error 1429)

K, heres the story:
Me and my sister, who share the same computer, both have Ipod Classics Model No. A1238 and EMC. No. 2173. I downloaded a new version of itunes a couple days ago, and when my Ipod froze, so i plugged it into the computer to get it working again. The screen on my Ipod the went to a black and white "do not disconnect" sign, which is the same one that comes up on the really old Ipods. Then itunes said it detects a "corrupt Ipod" that needs to be retored. Reluctantly, i clicked restore, because I need my Ipod to work, its my life, since im in high school:). Then it said: Ipod "Ipod" cannot be restored, unknown error (1429).
I have tried many things to fix this, but none work. My Ipod seems to be permanently frozen, and once in a while it comes up saying "IPod needs to be restored" on the Ipod screen.
Also, the exact same things happened to my sisters Ipod today too.
any help would be great, i really need it fixed.

I was sort of relieved to read that I am not the only one with freezing issues.
I have been to the apple store twice only to be told there is nothing wrong and of course my warranty has expired !! I have the Model A1136 EMC No. 2065 80gig classic ipod. My dell computer is only 2 weeks old and works fantastic, however, when I open itunes and my ipod and it freezes, so does my pc and I have to do a task manager to get out of itunes and there are times when I can't and have to reboot my pc.
Well it has been two weeks now of me trying all that I can to fix the issue and only thing I can see so far that it freezes up when its in the analyzing the gapless sound upon adding music from my folders, etc etc. So I tried to "uncheck" everything that had to do with the sound and it worked. Oh and by the way, try setting your ipod on disk mode when you are trying to restore the ipod. It works better that way. Don't know what is going on but I am so angry with myself for being so attached to this ipod There is nothing out there that compares to my ipod and it's amazing the prices of mp3 that even come close to 80 gigs.

IPod Classic froze, tried restart, now in recovery mode.

I dropped my iPod Classic 160 GB, but it played fine for a while, then it froze. I tried to restart it by doing the slide-the-lock-then-press-Menu-and-middle-button thing, but then it said 'Restore in iTunes.' I tried that but now there is a white screen with a flashing circle-and-slash. It also says 'Do not disconnect.' I still have it connected to my computer. Will this help?

I just purchased the Classic 160, and everything seems to be fine, except it would not sync my games. I went and purchased new games just to see if they would move over. They did not.

IPod Classic won't load on my WIN XP computer

After 4 years of connecting and synching with no particular touble, now my iPod Classic will not show up in My Computer on my Dell running XP. I've made no changed in the Dell. The iPod works fine, will charge from several speaker systems I own. I've tried a different sync cable to no effect. What do I do?

Ipod classic restarting while syncing

My ipod classic tends to "brick" while syncing, and quite often, while in use as well... This started happening about 2 months ago. I'm not sure if It's due to a software issue (update) or possibly it's age (5+years) Any ideas?

I have been having the same problem too. i was sick and tired of it so the i brought it to an apple store and basically just told me stuff i already know, then 2 days later it started happening again. So i went to the apple store yet again, different guy same nonsense, "let me check your battery" "let me see if you memory has problems" "don't have too many applications running at the same time" on and on.. all that happened is that they restored it and said it should work... well clearly i go home to sync it, everything freezes, i go back they give me a new one... yet here i am 3 days later still having the problems even with a new ipod. i reinstalled itunes like 6 times, restored my ipod 4 times... so basically everyone is having the same problem... i guess we just gotta wait til apple realizes that they have a big problem to fix and does something for us

Software upgrade 'froze' while loading-didnt 'restore'

My upload of the newest version froze while I was loading it...It was at 10 of 11 and never got to the 'restore' portion of the load. I have no info on my phone - contacts are gone and settings are back to standard settings. My desktop manager is getting 'stuck' too- HELP! I am not a tech nerd, but need one!

At what point is the Desktop Manager getting stuck?
Check your My Documents folder to see if you have a LoaderBackup IPD file in there. If it's not there do a search on your computer for any IPD files. That file contains the contents of your device when the backup was made. If it's there you can go into Backup and Restore | Restore then double click on the IPD file when that window opens up. Doing so will restore all of the information back onto your phone.

IPod Classic disconnects while synching

Hi,
Whilst trying to synch, my iPod initially shows as connected, then quickly switches to Ejecting, and then disconnects. Basically, there is no chance of the iPod synching fully.
iPod Classic 160Gb using Windows 8
Latest version of iTunes loaded 12.1.1.4
Any hints and tips much appreciated.

IPod touch froze while restarting

My iPod has been acting really wonky lately. When I open Facebook or some of my other apps, they start to load up, but then just kick me out. It also started freezing up, and when I would download a new app, the download would freeze. It was in the middle of downloading an app when it froze, so I restarted it. It turned off fine, and restarted with the apple logo on the screen like normal, but it sits that way for 20 minutes or so before flashing a white screen with different colored bars, then it tries to restart again. I tried to plug it into my computer, but iTunes doesnt seem to find it. The iPod is in really good condition: no dents or water damage, and it's not that old. It's a 4th gen. Please help!

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPod touch froze while updating to iOS 6 over wifi, what do i do?

I started updating my ipod to iOS 6 over wifi, and it just froze part of the way in to the update, and I am unable to connect to my iTunes account right now.

Looks like you need to put your device into DFU mode:
To put the device in DFU mode, connect the device to iTunes and hold both the power button and the home button down, after 10 seconds, release the power button but leave the home button pressed until it goes into DFU mode. iTunes should then recognize that the device has entered DFU mode and ask to restore.

Computer froze while loading themes

I am new to IDVD. I have a few questions.
1) I have a slide show created in iphoto 09 version 8.1.2 that I wanted to save with idvd. is it better to add the transitions and music while in iphoto or do that in idvd?
2) what are the drop zones in idvd?
3) last night i opened idvd with the slideshow. It prepared the photos and exported (222 photos no transition, no music.) I clicked on new project and it said it was loading themes. Well it never loaded the themes. It ran for an hour and 15 minutes and nothing happened. I had to force a shutdown of the computer. has anyone experienced this and how do I fix it?

If you are making the slideshow in iPhoto you must make all your changes there. Once a movie / slideshow from iMovie or iPhoto hits iDVD it is a finished product.

Drop zones allow you to customize the themes provided and add visual appeal to your project. Drag in a still picture or a movie and it will be added to the drop zone and play as part of theme.
