IPod Classic now an iBrick; HELP

A few months ago, my iPod classic 80GB fell out of my pocket into a parking lot and i was told it was ruun over, but came out unscathed with just a dent in the back of it. My real problem started about a month and a half ago, when my iPod suddenly stopped letting my sync to my computer. Whenever I plug my iPod into my computer, iTunes freezes and my iPod says connected and says synchronizing but it doesn't. It says that it only has 63GB left, but has no songs or anything on it.I've tried resetting it reformatting it and everything yet it still will not work. I do have a 2.0 USB port and my printer has not been hooked up while trying to sync. My question is what could be up? Could my two problems (it being run over and it freezing my iTunes) be related?

Yes, those 3rd party software, trafnsfer songs from iPod to the PC.
As for your first problem
"Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because they could not be found.
check your iTunes library media location folder in the preference
Change the location to where you have your missing songs.
Have a nice day!

used wrong charger with ipod classic, now it wont turn on, displays the low battery icon even though its connected to the wright adapter.
    Can anyone help ?
    please?

WHow long have you left it to charge?  Have you tried resetting it after a short period of time to see if that can help jumpstart the charging process? To do this, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • Ipod classic died?? help!!

i have had my ipod classic for just over a year now, and its been fine but randomly wont turn on?? or light up or do any thing?? my mac book dont recognize it and it wont charge?? it isnt responding to anything!! help!!

Try to connect it to a Wall outlet charger (Dont use the iPad  charger, unless it has a lower 5W outlet) leave it connect for at least 2 hours.
    Reasoning:
Depending on how old is the iPod, the battery might be dead.
Connecting to the Macbook, should give some life to the iPod screen after 30 mins, unless you are using a bad cable, although is connected to the Macbook USB low power port will takes longer to charge.
Do try to borrow, charger or another cable or another PC to charge the iPod and get some display on the screen, or else you will have to send it in for repairs. (but at this stage, we wont know what's is wrong, unless you peep into the earphone jack and tell me that it is pink or red, which meant it died after going for a swim.

  • My ipod classic just froze, please help!

My ipod classic was working perfectly up until about 10 minutes ago, when it froze up and now it won't let me do ANYTHING. My computer doesn't even recognize that I've plugged it in! I'm so lost, please help me!
So my ordeal is over, thank the stars. To anyone who's having the same issue I just had, here's what you do:
       1. Switch the hold/lock button on the top lefthand corner of your ipod on and then back off
       2. Press and hold the center and menu buttons down simultaneously until the Apple logo appears
       3. Your ipod should shut off and restart after this, and work as fine as it did before

I am having a similar problem at the moment. My ipod is a 20g and fairly new. It has been skipping through all of the songs as though they can't be played. I have soft reset it on numerous occasions and most of the time it has worked. But now I have reset it through itunes for about the fifth time and it won't work. All I have on screen now is the apple symbol and I can't get anywhere. I have updated itunes and reset my ipod after removing all of the music. It seems to be corrupted somehow. Is there any software I can use to wipe it or possibly defrag it other than what is available through itunes?
My computer can recognise the ipod but itunes won't.

  • Ipod classic will not sync, help me!

    Running OSX 10.6.8
    Macbook 2,1
    Itunes 10.6.3
160gb Ipod classic not sure which generation
The ipod appears empty in Itunes, I sync my entire library of music and all podcasts, it appears to sync normally and after the sync is complete, i eject the ipod. I unplug the ipod and under music it says: "no music", under podcasts: "no podcasts". nothing has synced at all. BUT, under the settings tab in the ipod, it is showing an amount of space about the size of my music collection under the category of "other". Curiouser curiouser...
OH, I should mention, I tried unchecking the "sync entire library" option and chose only a single album to sync, it worked! but when i try the entire library, i can't get it to work.
I have restored the ipod several times and retried the sync repeatedly. I have reinstalled Itunes, I have even reinstalled OSX! but nothing seems to work. If it were completely dead, I would just buy a new one, but it fires up, syncs and the whole shebang yet, it remains empty.
I also entered the diagnostic interface on the ipod and nothing seemed to be wrong but, I have no idea what the normal ipod parameters are and have nothing by which to compare the results...
    help me

Try to connect the iPod Classic to your Macbook, using another USB port, it looks like a shared USB bus, is causing timeouts, and failing to finalised the iPod filesystem writes.
    My Suggestions
Do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting.
Especially if the hardisk is dying and causing delays in writing data to the clusters.

  • Is it worthy to buy an iPod Classic now (July, 2014)?

    Hi guys!
I have a 32GB iPhone 5 and I want a dedicated device to use as my only music player, so I thought on getting an iPod classic. Since we are two months away from the next Apple's big launch, I want to hear from you guys if it is worth for me to buy the current model of the iPod Classic, launched in 2011, now in 2014. Let me hear opinions and stories!

The iPod classic first came out in 2009, and two years later had minor updates (just new capacities, AFAIK). Now it's been another three years so there's not much of a pattern to go off of. That being said, if the current iPod meets your needs then get it.

  • Older 5th Gen IPOD Classic Games not syncing - HELP

I previously had a IPod Classic 30GB and purchased 2 games (Ms PacMan & Mahjong) these worked well on that IPod. I now have a new IPOD Classic 120GB and I have purchased 2 more games (UNO and Scrabble).
All games display in Itunes game although they are displayed on two different lines, but only the two new games (UNO and Scrabble) appear in the Games Sync area.
How do I get the original two games (Ms PacMan & Mahjong) to sync to these new IPod Classic?

Are those older games still available in the iTunes Store +iPod Click-Wheel Games+ section? If they are currently being sold, that current version is certain to be compatible with all game-playing click-wheel iPods.
If so, you may want to try sending an email to the iTunes Store support team. If you go here
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/
and follow one of the links under +Customer Service+, such as +Transfer Purchases+, and you will see a link that says +Contact Us+. Follow that link to a form you can fill out to send the email message. Explain the situation and ask if there is a way to get the newest version of those games you already paid for previously, when you had a 5th gen iPod.

    Hello Jeanne
If you are having issues with your iPod not showing up on your computer then check out the article below. What you need to figure out is if it does not show up at all or if it is just iTunes.

  • Ipod Classic restarts computer. Help!

I have an 80gb Classic bought last August which has been working fine until today! I plugged it in the USB, the screen goes blank and it restarts the computer in a continuous loop. I tried it in 3 different USB ports and it does exactly the same thing in each.
I turned off the auto restart and I get the following error message when I switch it on:
    *Stop: 0x000000FC (0xBA5078E8, 0x0AZF6963, 0xBA507848, 0x00000001)
I'm not a computer expert by any means and have no idea what to do next to try and solve this.
My ipod has itunes 8:2 on it. I've tried to update the drivers on each USB but the computer says that there is no update for them and that they are already up to date.

    Hi chaps,
you may add myself to your problem report list too.
After having installed iTunes 8 thru the update process called up from Vers 7 my iPod classic 80G is crashing the Vista computer. Blue screen indicates "usbappl....sys" to be the issue and after Vista recovery the problem report includes the info
    BCCode: 1000007e
    BCP1: C 00 00 00 5
    BCP2: 8D7DC515
    BCP3: 8895B688
    BCP4: 8895B384
    OS Version: 606001
    Service Pack 1_0
The crash happens regardless of whether iTunes is running or shut down. The ipod classic 80G works on another machine under XP and using iTunes 7.xxx
I hope that Apple can very soon offer an update to iTunes.

  • Is album artist sort available on iPod classic now?

If I buy an iPod Classic today, is there an option to have artists sorted by album artist? Thank you

I'm fairly certain there have been no changes to the classic firmware.
The workaround is to set as a compilation or set a common artist.

  • Just got a iPod Classic and I need help. Been trying for a few days already

Just got my iPod classic. Plugged it in once and iTunes read it fine, I uploaded a few songs. Later that night, I plugged it back in...and the ipod cant get pass the Connected screen. Once that screen shows up, the ipod shuts off. It does that over and over and over so its not even showing up in itunes.
    I'm getting frustrated.

Try to leave it connected for a while so that the battery can fill in without any request of power.

  • Installed update 1.1 - IPOD HAS NOW DIED COMPLETELY HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just plugged in my ipod calssic 80Gb to update a few things, and it told me there was a new software update, 1.1. I cicked install, seemed to be taking a while so I went away, came back 5 minutes later to find the ipod had disappeared from itunes (which still works fine), and the ipod screen was black. I now cannot get anything out of it at all, it is dead. It does not respond to the 5 r's, nor when I plug it in to the computer or even to a power socket. It is DEAD. What has happened?!?! I've only had it 3 weeks, and it worked perfectly before. Only thing I can think of is the screensaver came on before I came back to my PC
Anyone help?!?! I am not happy
    Thaks a lot

I had the exact same experience last night. I helped my son install the 1.1 update. He came to me when his iPod didn't come back at all. When it wouldn't respond to the 5 r's, he was completely in tears.
After reading a few posts on this message board, I decided to completely unplug it from ANY source of power and let it sit. I could hear a high-pitched sound when I placed it up to my ear, which made me think it was still "on," even though the screen was completely blank.
A few minutes ago, he came running downstairs with his iPod, telling me that it had "lit up!" We were getting the "connect to power" message. We plugged it in to a wall charger and voila! We got the apple logo, we got the status bar for the 1.1 update, we watched the update complete and the once dead iPod is up and running again.
Somehow, it gets in a state that nothing works, but it's still running. When it finally runs out of battery completely, it seems to reset itself. I know it takes some patience and this shouldn't happen. But at least we didn't have to drive 45 minutes to a Genius Bar or wait for the iPod to be shipped back and forth to Apple.
    Good luck!

  • Ipod classic 3G crash! Help!!

I have an classic Ipod 3G and recently it crashed. Every time I turn it, try to sync it or try to charge it. It will have the apple screen like you're just turning it on. Then it does nothing..... it just stays there with the apple logo frozen. Please help.

    Hello ComamnderAME,
I have an classic Ipod 3G
That's awesome. However, technically, it's not a Classic, but either way we'll see what we can do to help.
Have you tried a simple reset of the iPod? To do this, press and hold the Center and Menu buttons together until the Apple logo appears. If no luck the first time, try a few more times.
You may also want to try this with it plugged into your computer. If you can get iTunes to recognize it, I would perform a restore if possible.

  • IPod Classic 80GB 6th Gen help

I put my ipod on the usb cord. Windows gives me a scan and fix (recommended) window. I click scan and fix. Then it gives me a window that says check and fix problems. So I click check on Automatically fix file system errors and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. I click start.
"Some problems were found and fixed. any files that were affected by these problems were moved to a folder named 'found' on the device or disk. Your device or disk is now ready to use.
If you removed the device or disk before all files were fully written to it, parts of some files may still be missing. If so,go back to the source and recopy those files to your device or disk."

So what seems to be the problem then?  Does iTunes still see the device?  If so, just go ahead and sync it as you normally would.
