IPod Classic's Back & Forward Button Work The Wrong Way

As I was clicking through the podcast episodes on my new iPod Classic 120GB I had to find out that if I wanted to go forward one episode I had to click the back button because if I clicked the forward button it would take me to the previous episode.
Also when I finish listening to a podcasts episode it does not jump to the next episode but to the previous episode.
I looked at the settings of the iPod but didn't find any options that would change the behavior of the iPod. I also thought it might be a sorting issue but I couldn't find anything that would change this either, nor could I find any setting in iTunes.
Is there a problem with my settings or a problem with the iPod itself?

Well it's a very strange feature!
Seriously, iTunes and the iPod catch and play Podcasts much better than some other Podcast Catchers and MP3 players I've tried but this is one of the few strange "features" about the Podcast capability of the iPod that let it down. Working on the philosophy that "even if you are ahead, don't stop trying to improve" Apple should at least consider the following:
1. User facility to reverse the play order of Podcasts
2. An indication that only part of a Podcast episode has been played (in addition to the existing blue {unplayed} spot)
3. Indication of the "episode time" in the menu, (so that I know if I have enough time to listen to that episode. One programme can have episodes of very different lengths.)
... and yes, I have put these in as suggestions.

  • How can I add Internet browser back/forward buttons to the main toolbar?

The developper of the software I'm testing manages to open
web-pages in a window within our software. We find this a great
feature, although it has one downside: no back/forward buttons the
users have gotten used to thru standard Internet browsers.
Is there any way to add these classic Internet browsing
buttons to the main toolbar of a WebHelp output? I've noticed them
on some other outputs (HTML-help if I'm not mistaken).
I've noticed some similar topics in this forum, but the seem
to discuss the browsing sequence buttons, which we find less
    usefull.
    Thanks for looking into this!

  • The back/forward buttons on the tool bar only go one page at a time. I used to be able to click a drop-down and select how far back/forward I wanted to go. How can I get that back

I can only navigate back/forward one page at a time. The drop down box that used to allow me to see the recent pages and select the page I wanted to go to was immediately to the right of the "forward" button. I can right click over the forward/back buttons and get the dropdown list of recent sites.

Use right-click on the back/forward buttons to bring up the context menu, the drop down was never needed, and I had suppressed it for a long time to save space.

  • I inadvertantly deleted the back/forward button and the dropdown box how do I get those back

I inadvertantly deleted the back and forward button at top left as well asthe dropdown box showing preferences How do I get those back? thankyou

Your description is unclear. Maybe this will help.
Back/forward buttons are on the Navigation Bar. Be sure the Navigation Bar is being displayed. On the Menu Bar, choose View > Toolbars, if there is no check mark next to Navigation Bar, click Navigation Bar to place a check mark.
<u>'''Can't see the Menu Bar'''</u> (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help)?
Turning the Menu Bar on and off is a new feature in version 3.6.
''(Linux & OSX see: [[Menu bar is missing]] )''
<u>''Windows'' Method 1.</u> '''''Hold down''''' the key and press the following letters in this exact order: V T M
<u>''Windows'' Method 2.</u> Press and release the key. The Menu Bar will be displayed; then choose ~~red:V~~iew > ~~red:T~~oolbars and click on ~~red:M~~enu Bar.
The Menu Bar should now be displayed permanently, unless you turn it off again using View > Toolbars. Check mark = displayed, NO check mark = not displayed.
    See: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Menu+bar+is+missing

  • Is there an add-on to move the back/forward buttons to the right of the address bar (FireFox 34)?

I know it might not sound like a big deal, but I can't stand having the back button to the left of the address bar. I always had it to the right of it, more toward the middle of my screen. I just can't get used to it all the way over there. I hate that it's anchored to the address bar. Whose stupid decision was that? I've been trying to find an add-on, but so far no luck.

You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to customize the appearance in Firefox.
    *Classic Theme Restorer: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/
*You can check out the settings of the CTR extension via its Options/Preferences button on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" page.
*You can find extra toolbar buttons and more toolbar settings in Customize (3-bar Firefox menu button > Customize)

  • On Firefox 4, how can I put one "new tab" on the "tab bar" (The + sign) and one next to the "back/forward" buttons (as in FF 3.6)?

On Firefox 4, how can I put one "new tab" on the "tab bar" (The + sign) and one next to the "back/forward" buttons (as in FF 3.6)?
In my current Firefox, the "new tab" icon/item from the "customize" pop-up window menu of items is placed next to my home, back, forward buttons near the top-left of my header (Button 1 for "new tab"). Then, the tab bar automatically come with a small tab (with a + sign) to the right of your last tab opened (so you click on + and a new tab opens. Button 2 for "new tab"). I like to have this "new tab" button twice (as a + mini tab, and next to my "home icon".
When I upgraded to Firefox 4, I seemed to be only able to "customize" or use the "new tab" in one place. Either as an icon next to home button, or as a "+ minitab", but NOT both.
What can I do to put this button in Firefox 4 on BOTH places???
Your help is really appreciated. I want to upgrade, but I want my buttons on both places...
I upgraded to FF 4, but downgraded again just because this feature... that's just me of coarse :-)

  • Back & forward buttons won't work after going full screen

I have a Logitech cordless mouse. When ever I'm watching a
video, like on You Tube, and I go to full screen, my mouse
back/forward buttons won't work, and I have to re boot my computer.
I have tried every thing Logitech told me to do, but still have the
problem. They think it's a flash player problem. I saw that one
other person in the forums has the same problem. Any ideas?
    Thanks, Shawn.

I can't find the preferences section of itunes. where is it because it isn't at the very top of the screen and I didn't see it anywhere else. i hasn't told me that the back-up is corrupted so I don't know about that. I just know that it always comes up with the error message 50 when I try to get the back-up restored to it.

  • Edge not loading when using the go-back / go-forward buttons from the browser?

    Hello everyone,
I'm working on a test site where the Edge animation is part of a slider using jQueryTools.  The animation works when you click the menu options, going from Page C, to page A, to page B, back to page C which has the Edge animations.
But when using the go-back and go-forward buttons of the browser, it doesn't work.  It don't even show the preloading gif.
I already added the meta data for avoiding loading the page into the cache, added the function to call the Edge animate in a $(document).ready event for jQuery.
The setup will get  a little bit complicated, as I have 2 different Edge animations going on, and will use the bootstrap function to show multiple edge objects.
The main issue for now, is to check if anyone has experienced the issue of the go-back/forward buttons.
Thanks for your time and help!

So i got the following error message:
Uncaught ReferenceError: AdobeEdge is not defined
This happens when using Chrome and going from link to link and getting back to the page wehere we are using Edge Animate.
The first time that it loads, is fine.
    Any idea?

  • My back/forward buttons don't work - have done 'reset toolbars and controls', but they still don't work

When I downloaded the latest version I got a new screen with the orange Firefox tab at the top. That was fine, I could find what I wanted, but back/forward buttons didn't work. I checked the help section and went right through the suggestions down to 'reset toolbars and controls' - this did reset and I lost the orange box - that doesn't matter, but the back/forward buttons still don't work.

Do you have more than one tab open? If you didn't go to another site in a single tab, then yes, the buttons will be greyed out. If you went somewhere in another tab, then those sites should be accessible by right clicking either button.

  • How do I go back to my old version of Firefox. 4 does not allow me to use two finger mousepad control to expand or contract my screen. Also I don't like the lack of a drop-down arrow next to the back/forward buttons.

I don't like to have to click and drag to see the drop down history of the back/forward buttons - this requires two fingers or a double tap and hold finger motion. MUCH easier to click and release and take my time to pick the screen I want to go back to, then click on that link with a separate motion.
I especially don't like that I can no longer expand and contract the screen with two finger motion on my mousepad!!!
Generally, I don't see any advantage to the new layout - and I have a slight preference to having my tabs closer to the screen rather than above the address bar, since I more frequently click on tabs than on the address bar. If you want to improve the view I would recommend combining the very topmost bar which is part of the window surround with the File Edit etc bar (and please keep File, Edit, View History, etc separated instead of putting them into a dropdown). This will allow the viewer one more line of text on a given webpage, and eliminate the wasted space which is only used to identify the window as FF and provide the close window buttons
PLEASE help me go back to the old version. It was perfect.

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • What happened to my back button? Now when I'm browsing on facebook, or any other site, the back/forward buttons are not highlighted to be able to use them?

When I am surfing the net, I have always been able to use my back/forward buttons. Now all of a sudden, they are not available to use, you can still see them, but they are grey, not black, like they once were so that I could click them to go back to a previous page, or forward once I've went back? I don't know what's the problem. I did the most recent firefox update that was sent to me recently. But just noticed this problem today. Thanks for your help.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • Why Have I lost the address bar, back/forward buttons etc, and how do I get them back or should i use internet explorer?

After updating Fire fox I seem to have lost the address bar,back/forward buttons and all my little apps. How do I get it all back and stop it from happening again?

To get the Menu bar I followed the excellent advice - I had to press the Alt key and V to get the chance to pick toolbars from the drop down menu. I just right-clicked on the blank page and hit Alt-V.
    Thanks for the tip.
