Ipod Classic screen say connect to restore???
Ipod Classic screen say connect to restore but when I do so it just goes into do not disconnect screen and computer wont recognize it at all
I tried everything possible, I reseted it multiple times. try hard disk wont work. tried connecting it wont work. it is just usually stuck in the apple logo screen until it tells me to connect to restore and then after that it goes into Do not disconnect and then after a while it just say OK to disconnect but nothing else happens. HELP PLEASE

Most likely your iPod hardisk is giving problem, bring it in to Apple store if it is under warranty, else
do the Disk Diagnostic as posted by tt2.
It wont fix your problem, but the report will help in troubleshooting.

Put it in the rice for couple of more days. Then
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

When I plugged my iPod into my macbook, a window for an iPod Touch software update popped up, so I clicked update, then it said that my iPod was over capacity or something similar to that, so basically I didn't have enough room for the update, which I thought was fine. So then once I unplugged my iPod, I was unable to use it. The screen was telling me to connect to iTunes (how it does when you first purchase an iPod, and turn it on for the first time.) So, I then connected it to iTunes and it told me I had to restore my iPod, it gave me no option other than to click "restore" But I don't want to lose everything that's on my iPod...but now I can't use it because the screen is still telling me to connect to itunes. How do I get out of restoring it?
If you have a graphic of iTunes and a cable displayed on your iDevice then it is in Recovery mode.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

my apple ipod classic 80gb says there is no music - anything on my ipod, but says it only has 37gb free. Then i try and plug it into my pc with iTunes on (i've set it to do not automatically sync devices) but it still freezes every time. the only way to unfreeze it is by detatching the ipod or resetting with menu/centre (until it loads up again, where it immediately unfreezes and comes up with a load of messages saying "cannot read iPod" and when i try and restore it by pressing menu/centre button while it's plugged in, it says "cannot restore as it is being used by another program" or "error 1415". Any ideas how to sort this out? hope i haven't majorly screwed it up. thanks.
Sorted it out. It sounds like your iTunes installation is not recognizing that your iPod is plugged in, so you will need to address that issue before you can restore the iPod. Here is an article that will help you do this:

Never before have i ever updated my iphone off the computer, there has been issue with backs up. So i went to back up my iphone 4s, it needed to be updated. so i updated it, during the update something had occur and my iphone 4s screen says connect to itunes be it wont connect???? i tried so many things. White Line Down Middle of iPod Classic Screen
I have recently noticed a thin white vertical line on the right side of my iPod classic screen. It doesn't affect the iPod's function at the moment but I'm worried that it is signaling a potential technicial problem. I have tried all the initial troubleshooting steps suggested but am leery about uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.
Removing and re-installing iTunes won't do any good as it does not pertain to the iPod in any way. If none of the 5 R's of troubleshooting helped, we can definitely say that it is a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display.

Sometimes it helps to let the battery fully drain and then redoing the 5 R's.

Ipod is frozen, says "connected Eject before disconnecting"
I have an 8 Gb ipod Nano and so far its been working really well.. but today i installed the "genius" feature, and it works on my itunes, but ever scince then my ipod has been frozen! The screen says "Connected". I tried everything The clock is even frozen!

Almost every what? Have you tried resetting the iPod? See this.

Every time you download music from the iTunes store Apple have to pay the artist royalties, so the official stance from Apple is that purchases from the iTunes music store can only be downloaded one time. Then, you must pay again.
This is why you are prompted to back this music up to a cd or dvd.
Some people say that they've been allowed a re-download for various reasons when they've contacted Apple.
You can only ask but please be aware that Apple are not obligated to do this for you.

in another way : how can i save my date stored on my classic iPOD as a external hard .... when that msgs appears .... volume doesn't contain a recognized file system , make sure the file system is loaded .... then , you need to format ??? can anyone help ?It sounds like the iPod's storage has data corruption. You may be able to treat it like an external drive and use data recovery software on it, but it probably won't work because the system is telling you that the drive needs to be formatted before it is recognized.
If the problem is data corruption and there is no hardware-related problem on the iPod's hard drive, a Restore should fix the problem. But this will obviously erase the iPod's hard drive.
