Ipod completely blank

My ipod will not turn on anymore. This happened thirty minutes ago when i was in my car. I didn't drop it, didn't spill water, nothing happened that could've made it stop. itunes still recognizes the ipod when its connected, though. How do i get it working again?

I believe the reason why your iPod says "Do Not Disconnect" is because it's possibly trying to make a connection to your computer, or it's updating itself. What does iTunes say while your iPod says that message?

  • IPod completely blanks out!!

My iPod Nano that I got in 2007 has been working completely fine until today, when I went to turn it on and nothing happened. I plugged it into the computer, which wouldnt regonize it at first, then after about 10 minutes told me that my iPod had been corrupted and needed to be reformatted. I clicked to reformat it, but it did nothing...any help??

    Thanks.
I did the whole restore thing, and it showed no data on my iPod, but when I went to load songs onto it, it gave me an error message (something about a write error? i cant remember what it was exactly).
I ended up just unplugging the iPod, and when i tried to plug it in again, Windows recognizes it, but not iTunes.
I still have a few days left until my 1 year waranty is up (i think) so i might just try to send it in to get repaired. any advice on that?

  • Ipod completely blank and making wierd noises

My ipod has always worked fine until I started using an itrip, after that, I try to connect it to my computer using my USB connector, as I have many many times and it wont respond. Itunes says I have no Ipod connected, it wont charge, when I connect it to my computer my ipod just stays black, nothing at all, no reponse, not to mention the wierd buzzing noise when I have it plugged in. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP, I CANT LIVE WITHOUT THIS THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried that as well but the screen just went blank again. Then randomly, it says connect to power and even so, it still says connect to power. Its barely a year old.

  • Ipod completely blank and wont respond to anything. what should i do? whats wrong?

My iPod fell in water a few months ago and I decided to take it to the authorised dealer in my city, Nairobi. They told me they couldnt fix it. Today, I connected it into my laptop and it said 'Charging, Please Wait...' so i did until the apple logo appeared with the light behind. Later on, it went off and my laptop has really tried to restart it, but it gives me these random errors (a different one each time) I really need it back. Please help!

    - Try another cable

  • IPod Nano (2nd Generation) Screen Is Completely Blank

    Hi,
When I tried turning on my iPod Nano, it didn't work. The screen was still black and it wouldn't turn on. So I tried toggling the hold button and pressing the center and menu buttons simulatneously but that wouldn't work either. A few nights ago I had accidentally dropped my iPod into the sink and everything but the forward button was working fine. I'm wondering if that has something to do with my iPod not working. It was working perfectly fine up until now..
    Please help.
    Thanks

Hi, it seems as if you are having the same problem with yours that I am having with mine. My screen is completely blank and my ipod doesnt turn on or anything not even when I hook it to the computer. I have reinstalled everything ad still nothing. I have toggled with it and still nothing and I am getting very annoyed lol. It doesnt even come up on itunes either. I havent dropped in water or anything. Last I knew the battery went dead and something about a corrupted file, while i tried charging it came up. It has worked fine and just today it stopped wowrking and I dont know what to do and hoping someone can help me out.

Have you completely recharged your iPod, then reset it, and restored using one of your backups from when it was working?
If so, and if nothing else from iPod touch Support pages help you, contact Apple:

  • I emailed a youtube video while on FaceBook and now safari doesn't load any images - screen is completely blank and I've tried lots of websites. What happened?

My screen is completely blank while on Safari despite having tried many websites. This happened while I was logged into Facebook and had emailed a YouTube video that was posted on a friend's page. Settings seem to be fine. Images still load when I'm on my email, photos, youtube, etc. What to try next?

Have you tried resetting your iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • U2 iPod completely dead

I swear to God...no one post some garbage about resetting the iPod. When I plug it into the cradle I get the Apple icon. When I launch iTunes it doesn't recognize the iPod.
And as soon as I take it out of the cradle and do the garbage recommended on this site (hold the menu, blah blah BLAH) the screen goes completely blank. Dead. Nothing.
Other icons that pop up include a file folder with a question mark and a battery charge sign with a question mark.
So tell me...without posting some junk pointing me to some half-assed article with little help: WHAT IS WRONG!!!!?!??!

Have you actually read through those articles though???

Also, you say the apple logo shows up when plugged in. Then what?

    - After charging for 1/2 hour or so, does iTunes see the iPod?  If yes, restore the iPod from backup.

the problem started when my computer screen broke from something falling on it, the screen was replaced but the people that fixed it for me told me there may be some hard disk issues when a problem like this happens, they ran their own checks and found nothing and i was given my laptop back, then when i tried to use it, i found this problem. everything else works fine.
i have shutdown and re-started my computer multiple times and i have also re-started finder multiple times, both having no effect
i have also done a few other things to find that my apple.com.finder.plist and apple.com.sidebar.plist are both missing, and are not re-creating themselves, i have found no way to bring them back either.
any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

there is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory
