IPod connection to car not working?!

My iPod Nano (not sure if it's 4th Gen or not... not sure how to tell sorry) will not work with my car stereo anymore Up to a few days ago we hooked it up to our Honda (has a USB port in the arm rest) and it played through the car stereo. Today we went to use it and it recognizes the iPod, shows the song name on the stereo display but no sound comes out (the volume is up). We tried my nephews iPod and it works with sound, we tried connecting the earbuds to my iPod and there is music... so I'm stuck now because the cord works with another iPod and the headphones work on mine... any suggestions/ideas/help? Am I just not thinking of something? We're travelling so this is important lol

Hi there, have you guys gotten your problem solved yet?
If not try to reset your ipod. you can reset it by holding the centre and menu button at the same time until the screen displays an aple logo. try that and see if that fixes your problem.
oh by the way to tell if your ipod nano is 4th gen it will look like one of these from the following webpage:

Did you try a hard reset with the iPod still connected to your PC? Have you tried multiple USB ports, preferably high powered USB 2.0 ports?
To do a hard reset, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Have you also worked through each and every single troubleshooting suggestion in this Apple support document?

The Wi-Fi on my iPod Touch 4G is not working. People were working on my wi-fi, and, since it showed three bars still, I thought it was working. So when I found out it wasn't working, I tried to fix it by myself by forgetting the wi-fi network. Now, when I try to log in, it says that my password is incorrect (even though I know it is right). I think it is not working because I forgot the wi-fi network while they were working on it. I don't know what to do and I would like Wi-Fi to work on my iPod again (and it is working on my computers and my iPad). Can anyone help me? Thanks:)

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

You do have it turned on ins settings>Privacy, right?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. Thus, it appears that the iPod can't see a nearby router that is in Apple's database. Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.
You can confirm that by going to place with a know located router like Starbucks or McDonalds

i think its kind of short circuited is any thing workable in this device or not........

I solved my problem by restoring the shuffle to factory settings on the summary screen. Now it seems to work the way it's supposed to. Many thanks to Apple for zero help, as usual. Apple should direct less resources to developing the next snazzy ipad and more to cleaning up and enhancing itunes. I'll make the same editorial comment about the iphone 4 voicemail options.

Have you checked the 'Hold' button at the top left of your Classic to make sure it didn't get bumped into the ON position?
If it's been moved to the right and you can see the red indicator, then 'Hold' has been switched on and none of the buttons on the iPod will work.
What happens if you plug your iPod into a charger or connect it to iTunes?

IPod touch G2 backlight not working replaced LCD, still not working

After water got in my iPod the backlight does not work. I tried putting it in rice for a few days but the backlight still did not work.
Then I replaced the LCD with the same result. Everything but the backlight works.
What else can I try?

Do a Hard Reset
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

If the sound is still the same, but ok, coming from the bottom Dock connector, then try cleaning the headport, using a jet of air or some electronic cleaner.

Mini Clubman iPod connectivity feature does not recognize iPhone iTunes?

I recently purchased the new Mini Clubman and had the iPod connection installed. It works great with our iPods and Nano but doesn't recognize the music on the iPhone (the iPhone works great with the other Clubman features). I was told by the Mini dealer that the new iPhone software upgrade would remedy this; does anyone have any additional or contrary information? Thanks!
