IPod constantly wants to "Update"

I just got a 60g iPod Photo. I've tried everything to make it work on my home computer to an unhappy ending. I've installed/uninstalled iTunes and Quicktime. I've uninstalled/installed iPod Updater. It always gets stuck on the Updater. It keeps telling me I need to "update", but doesn't give me the option with the button. It only lets me restore the iPod. I have the lastest software "1.2" When I run the installer and it asks for me to connect my iPod, I do. Then it says it has to be formatted for my computer. I do that, and it always gets stuck when it is "rebooting the iPod".
Also, If I have iTunes, and Quicktime installed properly, iTunes wants to reformat the iPod EVERYTIME I plug it in. I'm at my wits end, and I don't know what to do. Please SOMEBODY HELP!!!!

  • Applications constantly want to updating.

App Store, constantly wants to update software that it has already done so, why?
I am using OSX10.9.4 and everyday I am caught in a loop of updating apps my applications.
Once I do so (using App Store), it says successful. Then, as expected, the Application appears below stating it has been done in the last 30 days.
When I look in the Apps Purchased tab, there they all are - asking to still be updated. I can close the Purchased tab and visual confirmation again says all has been done. So, happily I close the App Store. Only to get a notification either one hour later or the next day - for all the exactly same software to be updated. Same date and versions too as last time. Caught in a endless loop here. IS there anything I can do?
Used OnyX to see if anything is wrong system wise - tried fixing permissions, also. Nothing seems to work.
I can wait until OSX10.10 or whatever its numbered OS11 - to see if a clean install will solve this.
But maybe there is a fix? - Anyone else out there having this issue? Thanks.

Hmmmm, now there is something I forgot to mention. I do have a failed iPhoto update that shows in my Purchased Tab.
Maybe that has something to do with this trouble.
In addition, 1Checker, BaanCounter, iBooks Author and iProcrastinate - are 4 apps that I had uninstalled long ago, before this trouble started  Still, Apps Store wants to update these four Apps that are not even in my computer. In total, I have 17 Apps that the App Store wants to update daily-- updating them with versions of the same numeration. Its rather tiring and annoying to see each day.
Also - I have done two things.
    1) ignore the updates
    2) let it occur - and yes all update just fine... yet in seconds App Store says these 17 apps require updating.
    Is it Permissions? What?

  • Why does Adobe constantly wants to Update itself?

Why does Adobe Acrobat Reader constantly wants to Update itself by presenting an irritating dialog box that asks the user to update?
It's just a document reader - how many times do you want to update it? Why aren't all bugs/features added before it is released?
If you really want to update everyday, why can't you do it on the sly?

The latest version is 9.3.1 and it's been out for a little while now.
Your update didn't go right, or it would recognize the latest version and the updater would shut down before asking you to update.
Try uninstalling Reader and downloading the latest build. I doubt it will be asking you to update all the time after thet.

  • 5g iPod constantly rebooting after update

I just updated my ipod to version 1.2.x in itunes when it said it had finished updating I disconnected it. Now instead of booting up like normal it just constantly goes to the apple boot screen then turns off and does the same thing over and over. This was 45 minutes ago and it's still doing it.
I tried to restore it but the ipod can't be detected because it's just booting over and over again. Resetting/restarting isn't helping either.
    What can I do?

I'm also trying to get it into disk mode but no luck.

  • E-print constantly wants firmware update

Printer: HP Laserjet Pro M1536dnf MFP
No matter what I do, ePrintCenter still shows the red circle with the exclamation mark saying "To ensure your ePrint service is not interrupted please update your firmware at www.hp.com/go/eprint"
I have clicked on the link at least 5-6 times -- downloaded the updater program, run it and it connects to the Internet to download whatever and all seems to work.  At the end it sends me to the embedded Web Services page from the printer, which shows that Web Services is indeed [still] enabled. (It would be helpful if the updater actually told you what you were supposed to be looking for on the Web Services page...)
The firmware date shown under "Device Configuration" is:  20110405
    Any ideas how to
    (a) really update the firmware if the firmware for this printer is newer than 20110405
    (b) convince ePrintCenter that it is really up to date and to stop telling me I need this?
    LC

    Hello LewCipher,
The laserjet printers will have the firmware notice at eprintcenter.com as a general notice.  It doesn't necessarily mean your printer needs an update.
You can always visit www.hp.com/support to download any firmware updates and install them directly rather than following the updater.
I suspect the printer is already updated since it does have web services.

The iPad 1 can't run the newer operating systems. It'd be like trying to play a bluray disc in your 6 year old dvd player....it simply lacks the hardware to make the software run.
No suggestion about the camera, but given that Apple's attitude seems to be to focus more on the more mobile devices for photography (the iPhone and Touch cameras got features, the iPad and mini didn't), that is highly unlikely. You can tell Apple what you want, but you'd probably be money ahead to get a digital camera.
as to the photos, anything put on via iTunes has to come off via iTunes.Your main alternative would be to look for photo apps that offer file exchange that may give you more functionality.

Follow these instructions. When you restore the iPod from backup as the article says your iPod will also be updated.

  • My sister and I each have an ipod touch. We use the same computer and itunes but each have our own apple id. Everytime I want to update an app on my ipod it asks for my sisters apple id login!? help!

My sister and I each have an ipod touch. We use the same computer and itunes but each have our own apple id. Everytime I want to update an app on my ipod it asks for my sisters apple id login!? help!

When it asks for another ID on an App Update, it means that the application was purchased under your sister's ID but downloaded to your device from the iTunes library that you share. Even though you both have your own Apple IDs, since you are syncing on the same computer, you are using the same iTunes library.
Whoever purchased the app is forever tied to it, and you can only have one version of a particular app in a single library....
    Does that make sense?

I have a 4th gen. Itouch wiht IOS4 and i want to update it, but when i click the update button in ITunes it says "contacting IPod software server" and it looks like it is loading. However, after about 5 seconds it stops and says "ITunes could not connect to the IPod software server". I found the apple webpage that is supposed to help me, but when i went to the LAN settings in the control panel i found that 'Automatically detect settings" was already checked. I do not know what to do, Please help.

If yo mean the iPod will not connect to your wifi network:
Does the iPod connect to other networks?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • HT5052 How can I get ios 5 for my iPod Touch without downloading iTunes 11? iTunes 10 and above screw up .mov readibility in Final Cut Pro, so I do not want to update iTunes.

Any iTunes above 10 will screw up .mov accessibility in FCP, so I do not want to download iTunes 11 just to get this iPod Touch updated to 5 or 6.
Can I download the update some other way?

If you have a 4G iPod (one with cameras) you can only go to iOS 6.2.1 and that requires iTunes 10.7 or above.
If you have a 3G you can go to 5.5.1 with iTunes 10.5 or later.
    A 2G can only go to 4.2.1
