IPod crashes during Restore! Critic!

Hi,
Few months ago I used to transfer media to my iPod from a Mac till this week which I switched to PC. As you might know I was needed to restore my iPod in order to transfer from the windows... well I clicked on restore, my iPod started the process but suddenly *crashed during the restore*.
From now on, my iPod crashes even when I launch games (like Vortex, Music Quiz...) and when I try to restore it.
BTW, there is a delay when I connect the iPod till iTunes recognizes it.
Please help me,
Thanks,
Maor

  • IPod Crashed During Sync And Now Its Dead...

    Hi guys,
While syncing my other ipod touch to my computer, i don't know how it happened, but the ipod crashed, and then froze. iTunes said the sync had completed, but the ipod still displayed a frozen 'sync in progress screen'. I hard reset it because it was the only thing that i could do. Now, all that is displayed is an apple logo, however, it does show up in itunes.
Is a restore required? Please advise...

I fixed it. Yay for me.

  • IPhone crashes during restore

I have an iPhone 5s, bought 14 months ago (without Apple Care, so out of warranty).
    Background Information:
Since I updated to iOS 8.1.1, my iPhone has been crashing infrequently, in: Blue screen, Apple logo, back to blue screen, Apple logo, etc. This would solve itself after an hour or two (sometimes more), and the phone would then be useable again.
However, even though it would take a long time sometimes, eventually the phone would crash again. I went to my local Apple Premium Reseller (iCentre Delft, the Netherlands), and they said I should restore the phone via iTunes. I did and it worked fine for approximately 5 days. But then, this morning, it crashed again. Same thing as before. But this time it DID NOT go back to usable, and I decided to try and hook it up to iTunes again. It wasn't recognized, however, and therefore I could not restore my phone. I called Apple Support, and they said I should put the phone into recovery (DFU) mode. I did, and it clearly shows the iTunes logo with the lightning cable. But now comes the problem:
    The problem:
When I connect to iTunes, I get the normal messages requesting me to reset the phone (2). It starts just fine, but when the first white appears on the bar on the iPhone, it gets stuck (while the bar in iTunes keeps moving). 10 seconds later, and the blue screen pops up again, after which it heads back to the basic recovery mode screen. On iTunes I get error 9, which shows USB connection issues. However, I doubt that this is the case and suspect that it gives this error because it has nothing else to give.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?

    HEy dear,
for take your device to recovery mode you have to hold home and power then release the power and hold the home for 10 second. Then the iTunes will apear.
BUt for DFU mode you have to hold the home button until the itunes recognize your device and be availabe on your iTunes but there wont be any iTunes logo on your iPhone screen everything will be black on your iPhone. Try restoring your iPhone in DFU mode.

  • Laptop crashed during restore.... Help!!!!

Just recently upgraded from a 4s to a 5s. I backed up my old phone and then plugged in the upgrade to itunes to transfer all my stuff across. About halfway through this process my laptop crashed and i am left with a phone thats half backed up. anytime i try to repeat the process I end up with a message halfway through which says it cant restore the iphone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible. Help please!!!!!!

If the backup is corrupted, you will need to delete it.  Then plug your 4S to iTunes and backup again.  Then restore our 5S from that backup.

  • Problem downloading Ipod software during restore

    Hello everyone,
My iPod has had a flakey connection to iTunes, so I decided to restore my mini to factory settings.
All seemed to be going well until I hit the "Restore" button, which brings up a pop-up message "There was a problem downloading the iPod software for the iPod. The requested resource was not found".
Does that mean the software wasn't found or my iPod wasn't found? Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Richie

    Hi again,
No luck I'm afraid. I followed the instructions on the link you provided.
Having run chkdsk, there were no problems.
I navigated down to the iTunes subdirectory, but I don't have anything called "iPod software updates". I did a search on my Documents & Settings with no luck. I've checked that I have enabled viewing of system folders under my folder settings.
    All I can see are the following files;
    CD Info.cidb
    iTunes.pref
    iTunesPrefs.xml
and I have an empty directory called iTunes Plug-ins.
In the iTunes sub-directory from 'All Users', all I can see is a file called iPodDevices.xml
    I don't know if there's an error in the webpage you ent me, but I do have a directory called 'iPod Updater 2005-06-26' in my Program Files/iPod subdirectory. This contains the following files;
    Acknowledgements.rtf
    iPod Help.chm
    iPod Updater 2005-06-26.exe
    iPodUpdaterExt.dll
    Readme.doc
    StMp3Rec.inf
    StMp3Rec.sys
    StMp3Recnt.cat
Should I do anything with these?
As a furhter troubleshoot, I've borrowed a friends iPod Nano and connected it to my Itunes okay using my cable, so I know it's an issue with my iPod - any other ideas?
    Thanks again for your help,
    Richie

  • AppleMobileBackup crashes during restore

I need to restore my iPhone 3G from a backup. I connected it to my computer, right clicked on my iPhone in iTunes, and chose "Restore from Backup...".
It said it was restoring, but after several minutes Windows XP reported that AppleMobileBackup.exe had crashed. iTunes is oblivious, assuming that the restore is finished.
Google doesn't turn up any reports of this particular problem. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Ben

  • Ipod freezes during Restore process...it keeps restoring forever

I ve had very serious issues with itunes 7.
First, it didnt recognize the ipod, then after a few changes itunes finally recognized the ipod. Now after doing every recomendation in this forum I have no ipod showing in my computer (but its shown in the down right corner though as a usb mass storage).
When itunes recognizes it, it tells me I have to restore it and everything goes smoothly. But thats it...its says its being restored but it isnt. I ve wasted days trying to "restore" the ipod and it never ends.
I have no clue with this one, and yes, I did reinstall itunes a few times. I need some help please.

I cannot stand this. I got my new iPod mini silver today. Plugged it in, wasn't detected in iTunes. I tried again, and again. FINALLY, it was detected. Said it needed to be restored, because it was formatted for macintosh. I clicked okay. It restored for an hour. I Ctrl + Alt + Deleted iTunes and terminated the process. I formatted 'removable disk' using windows explorer. It gave me the folder/! icon. Then I tried again. It restored again, forever. Somebody really really really needs to fix this.

  • IPod hangs during restore

I had a problem two days ago where a synch failed and seemed to corrupt my media library. I successfully synched several more times, but was unable to access any media on my iPod. It just kept giving me the "No content" message, and I was unable to update any apps.
Now, its gotten worse. I tried doing a restore last night, it started to go through the motions and then freezes at like 5-10% through "Restoring iPod software". I left it go for a half hour and nothing was happening.
I tried again 4 times with it hanging at the same exact point. I am able to start the iPod in recovery mode and iTunes will still recognize that it is an iPod and try to restore it, but doesn't get beyond the hang point.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

I forgot to mention I'm using an iPod touch 4th gen, with iOS 4.3 and iTunes 10.2.1.
The computer I'm syncing from is Windows 7 SP1 64-bit. I haven't had any problems like this in the almost 4 months I've owned the iPod. The day before I started having issues I installed SP1 to Windows 7 though. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

  • Help!! My IPod Froze During Restore

I hope someone can help... I just got a used IPod mini yesterday. My kids have the IPod mini and an IPod shuffle so we've already got the software/ITunes installed on our computer.
I plugged my IPod mini into the USB port and let it charge. My computer picked it up and showed the previous owner's name and info. The mini was fully charged. I then attempted to restore it to wipe out the previous owner's data. The restore process started and then I got the AC adapter icon on the mini's screen. Needless to say.. we didn't have one. I ran out and got one and plugged my mini in. That's as far as I got. It's stuck.
    I've reset it numerous times.
I tried putting it in disk mode.
I tried plugging it into a different USB port.
I checked the AC adapter on my daughter's to make sure it was working...
I can't get past the AC icon!
Can't get the computer to recognize it.
    What do I do???

it's ok now i fixed it

  • IPhone crashes during restoring. What should I do?

I was busy restoring my iphone 3G but I had no idea that iTunes will demand that your sim-card that was in the iPhone at the first you bought it. And unfortunately I have lost this sim-card, so my phone is kind of dead right now.

iTunes is responsible for making sure your phone gets activated properly, and therefore needs the sim card. You can take the phone to AT&T and give them your account information. They will give you a brand new sim for the device. Then try to restore with the SIM in. Should work fine after this.

  • IPod crashed during updater - Won't start, weird icon

    Hi!
I attached my iPod to my computer this morning to put more tunes on it. The computer recognized my unit, but told me I needed to update the software, so I did. After I clicked on Update, I was told to plug it in to an outlet to complete the update. Once I did that, the apple logo showed up and then I saw a new icon -briefly- that looked like it was directing me to connect to USB. I cannot find this icon in ANY troubleshooting or technical materials.
Now, my iPod won't start. I did the 5 "r" and tried to manually reset 8 times. It still won't start!!!
    Help, please!!!!!!

If you have a FireWire cable, you can try starting up your Mac in FireWire Target Disk Mode. (Hold the "t" key down at startup.) Then plug your Mac into hers with a 6-pin to 6-pin FireWire cable. Your hard drive should appear on her Desktop. Then you can use her Disk Utility to verify/repair your hard drive. Note that it would be best if she was running the same version of Mac OS X that you have installed on your computer. For example, you don't want to try to repair a Mac OS X 10.4.x hard drive from a Mac with Mac OS X 10.3.x.
You can find out about FireWire Target Disk Mode here:

  • Ipod will not restore crashed during update

ipod crashed on update and will not work. it said to do a restore but I have tryed 2 times and both times the restore didn't work

I just did the install of 2.0.02 last and I had one dickens of a time restoring my library. Here is what happened to me. Right before doing the update it tells you that all of your music, videos etc.. will be removed from the Ipod Touch once the update is done installing. So I found a DVD and burned my library to it. Then I went ahead and did the install. It clean my Ipod Touch clean, but my iTunes library was still intact so I thought all will have to do is resync it but that didn't work. I tried and tried. I disconnected my external HD. Oh yeah by the way this is a new computer that I just bought and last night was the first time I used iTunes on it so I had to populate my library using iGadget.
Anyway, I realized that I didn't have manually manage my iTunes library unchecked I unchecked it and it began to sync the back up copy I had of my library. Did either of you back up your library before installing 2.02? Do you have a place where most of your music is stored outside of iTunes? You cannot have Manually manage library checked it won't restore if you do. Be aware though 96% of my cover art was gone with this restore. How annoying. I don't know if this is the information you were looking for but I hope I have been able to shed some light on the issue.

  • I updated my ipod and my computer crashed during the update now the apps that come with the ipod such as the app store and itunes are not on my ipod how do i fix this

i updated my ipod and my computer crashed during the update now the apps that come with the ipod such as the app store and itunes are not on my ipod how do i fix this

Connect your iPod to any computer with iTunes installed, highlight your device and try syncing the apps only. If it doesn't work might have to restore through iTunes. With the new iTunes and iCloud beta, you can have the iTunes list what apps are missing on your device but if you had previously purchased in the past and then have iTunes install them. You should always get in the habit of backing up your iPhone whenever you do any firmware/OS updating/upgrading or transferring over to new device. I really really really really hope you can get back at least some of your old info. I will tell you this, I have been kicking myself in the butt for not routinely backing up my iPhone when my beautiful special iPhone 4 came up missing and had to revert back to my 3GS. iPhone 5 will be released in a few months so I am holding off on purchasing a new iPhone til then, not that I did so without reservation and a little bit of iPhone 4 withdraw.

  • Ipod touch crashed during resetting of setting / data

My ipod touch crashed during a resetting of settings / data
Now it will not turn on. The apple icon will come on when I hold the sleep and home button for 10 seconds but the dies again. Itunes will not pick the device up when its plugged in?
Is there a way to get this going again. It is my daughters favorite device and would love to het this running again for her.

Can you connect it to your computer and restore it? If iTunes does not see the iPod try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restoring. See:
