Ipod crashing, breaking headphones and not turning on.

My ipod (5th gen-32gb) has been crashing constantly, and 3 of my headphones have stopped working ever since i got the ipod. just recently my ipod crashed and i havent been able to turn it back on. ive tried everything! help.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I would also go to the Apple store and discuss the headphone problmes.

  • Ipod nano white screen and not turning off

hi I bought a new mini pioneer stereo/dvd and put my ipod nano on it yesterday.. no probs it played.... but today i put it on the dock and all that it showed on the screen was a white screen with "ok to disconnect" on it... I took it off and now it is still a white screen adn flashing "Do not disconnect" I'm freaking out because I am not technically minded and my brother spent hours putting music on it for me
It is not turning off at all
    eek
Thanks to anyone with time to help me

    Hi
It seems to be ok now... I had to go out and it ran out of battery, when I switched it back on it  appears to be fine.
If it happens again (hoping that it doesn't!) and i do the reset.. will that remove all the music that's on there?
    Sorry for the ignorance
    Thank you for the answer

  • Ipod touch crashed and not turning on

My ipod touch has crashed and not turning on. i tried connecting it with the pc to the itunes but the ipod is not being detected. This is probably the second time the same thing has happened in a month's time. please help.
    Thanks in advance.

If you are certain that the device still has battery power, try resetting it (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to Unlock screen displays, you should be all set.

  • IPhone crashes and not turning back on

    Hi to all of you.
First I wanna apoligize if I'm posting this in the wrong discution board, I am new here
So, here's my problem. I have an iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.0.1.  I got the phone last summer, with iOS 3 point something, and I updated it to it's current iOS. I also unlocked it and jailbroke it, because that was the only way i could use it here in Macedonia.
Anyway, the phone worked perfectly for like a year until a while ago when it started crashing and not turning back on.
For example, I'm leaving the phone to charge trough the night(as usual), then I'm using it for listening to music for like half an hour on my way to college. Now the interesting thing...the phone crashes after like half an hour of usage time, and that's usualy at over 90% of baterry, or just over 80%.
Nevermind, the thing is, after it crashes, there is no way you can turn it back on, even though it had, let's say, 87% of battery power. When I try to turn it back on, the apple logo comes out like usual and fades away after a short while. If I continue trying it's gonna be the same thing, or even it's gonna show that red baterry bar telling me that I have to plug the phone to charge. And when I do that, the phone turns back on and it shows that it has like 60% of battery power(***?) or even less than 5%, it depends on the mood of my iPhone -.-
And if somehow I manage to turn on the phone without plugging it in, when I go to check the usage stats, it says "Usage time will be shown after iPhone is fully charged"
So, my question is, what should I do? Is it the battery? Should I get a new one, or maybe should I update my iOS?
I just want to mention that if I update my iOS, I HAVE to unlock the phone if I wanna use it here.
Sorry if I took you a lot of time explainig my problem.
    Any help will be appreciated

These are signs of faulty battery. Battery replacement at Apple Store is $80, and you will get perfect working iPhone 4 same as your current iPhone, except it will be working. Make Genius Reservation and take to Apple. Or have battery replaced elsewhere.

  • My ipod touch 5th generation will not turn on and the home button doesn't work. what do i do?

Hello my name is Leslie and i would like to ask you guys a question on how to fix my ipod or what is wrong with it. My ipod touch 5th generation will not turn on and the home button doesn't work. what can i do to fix it ?

Has the home button worked in the past, or is this been something that hasn't worked for some time? The only way to reset the device is with the sleep/wake (power) and home buttons together. Without it, you would have to wait until the battery dies and then plug it in to try and reset it. The Home button is used for several user troubleshooting steps. Without it, you cannot perform a reset, put the device into recovery mode, or place it in DFU mode. You need to get the home button repaired.

hi my ipod nano 6th generation will not turn on what should i do ...no batery left and never pluged it into itunes

    Hi meganisawsome,
If your iPod will not turn on and you are getting indicators that there is no battery left, the first step would be to make sure that the iPod has been charged correctly. You may find the following article useful:

  • My ipod nano 6th generation will not turn on.

My iPod nano (6th generation) will not turn on. I have charged it (attached to my computer) for 30 minutes. I have tried to reset it (held down Wake and Volume Down for 8 seconds)- no response. I have factory restored it (through iTunes)- no response. It shows up as connected to my computer and will sync in iTunes, but the display on the iPod will not turn on. Any ideas?

    Hey s.mccarter2010,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you have tried a lot of things and the iPod still will not turn on. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
    iPod won't turn on
If you have tried the solutions above and iPod still won't turn on, check the following:
Make sure iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard, and your iPod, then see if it will turn on.
Make sure you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that the cable is in good condition.
Try connecting iPod to the built-in port of a different computer to see if that works. Note: If using a portable computer, make sure it is plugged in to a power source and that the lid or display is open. If the lid is closed the computer may go into either standby, sleep, or hibernation mode and iPod will not charge properly.
If you still can't turn iPod on after performing these steps, it may need to be repaired. You can arrange for repair at the iPod Service Website.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen. will not turn on!

My iPod touch 4th Generation will not turn on. I've only had it since September and have barely used it. I plug it into my computer and it doesn't charge, it doesn't turn on even with a low battery symbol... my computer doesn't even recognize it as being plugged in. When I plug a 3rd generation in, it charges and is recognized by my computer, so I am almost 100% sure it's not a problem with my computer.
I've tried holding down both the home key and the power key at the same time and nothing happens...
    Help please!

    Welcome to the discussions,
does it charge using the adapter? If yes, charge it for at least 10min, then connect in recovery mode, shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
