Ipod crashing when calibrating

HI,
I have already done a full rest of my ipod nano (6th gen I think - the one with a screen and a clip at the back, about a year old) but still, every time I go to calibrate my ipod after running, it crashes. I keep the receiver plugged in throughout my run to connect to my shoe pod. It used to work perfectly but I recalibrated it a month ago, and when I went to calibrate it further, it crashed and has continued to crash ever since despite the full reset.
It still records the run, just the wrong **** distance!
Any help?
Thanks

Well, 2 steps (actually runs) and now one step back! So the other sensor I used at the weekend was one which I had linked a few years back as a reserve, but had never used. But, on Saturday, it worked very simply, stuck it in the shoe, and off I went - the runs were recorded properly, and I managed to get those runs uploaded to the nike site yesterday easily enough after a little research.
BUT, the bad news, I went to run this evening, and no sensor was being picked up by the ipod. Nada, nic, nothing!! AArgh. Have looked at the settings, it says there's a sensor linked, and there soes not seem to be anyway to unlnk an existing sensor (I thought about doing that and then relinking it).
So why would it work perfectly well two days ago, and now not at all!!

  • Why Are Apple Not Addressing This Problem Of Ipod Crashing When Synicing!

I bought 15 Ipod Classics for my Employees for to use while working on software projects, and all 15 ipod crash at 3.xGB no matter which machine we use to put the 16.5GB of music on (we asked the employees to bring the music in and we have a music lience), and we have used the developers pc spec(Described below) the helpdesk pcs, sales, marketing (who use macs), finance, the music was stored on a seperate HDD for ease.
why is there no answer for this problem, ever where you look on apple theres no anwser.
we have a mac specialist on site and he is stumped by this problem, can someone please give an anwser please!!!!

I just posted my annoyances here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2411594&tstart=0
So far, nothing has helped. Have tried multiple things:
    - reboot mac - fail
    - "reset" ipod - fail
    - repartition ipod (erases everything, has to reset a few things, start from scratch) - fail
    - "restore" ipod (downloads firmware, installs it, erases everything!) - fail
    - move library from external drive to internal drive (mac mini) - fail
    - delete itunes, download, reinstall - fail
    - install itunes 8.2 - fail
    - install itunes 9.1 (over 8.2) - fail
    - manage library manually - fail
    - use powered hub instead of plugging in directly - fail
    - unplug other usb devices - fail
Always end up with error message saying it can't read/write to the ipod.
NOTHING has worked. Went to store yesterday, guy confirmed ipod working and said delete/resinstall and if that doesn't work to bring the mac in. [You can read my experience trying to do that.]
My guess is Apple either screwed something up for ipod classics when they were wasting time screwing with Palm Pre's ability to sync with iTunes (as has been suggested in other threads) and doesn't want to admit it, or they just plain don't care about ipod classics because we should be good little apple sheeple and buying ipads. I'm just a little disgusted right now, so my opinion is just slightly biased at the moment.

  • IPod crashes when attempting to play Logic songs

I am quite new at Logic and have two questions:
    1
When I bounce a Logic project to iTunes, I have no problem listening to the song on my computer - in iTunes. But when i sync my iPod and then click on the song there, the iPod 'crashes' (needs rebooting) - and when it's ready again, nearly all the battery power has gone.
I have tried most of the options when bouncing ... aiff, wave, mp3, m4p etc ... all of which give the same result.

How come the 2,000 page Logic manuals - as far as I know - never touches upon the subject of mastering?

Sounds like a F^&*ed up iPod. IMO.

Because Logic is mainly used to create music / post production. Not so much for mastering. The guys who created Logic are not mastering engineers..but musicians.
If you want to master with Logic, you CAN. Go get a good book on mastering... there's a few out there.

  • My iPod crashes when I try to play a podcast

For the last few weeks, whenever I go to play a podcast I have downloaded it gets a minute in and then my iPod crashes and resets itself to the menu page. Everything else - songs, videos etc all work properly, it's just the podcast. Can anyone help me stop it doing this? It's really annoying.

I'll bet it's annoying! Does it do it with EVERY podcast you download, or just one? Is it sound only or a video podcast?

  • IPod crashes when I click in certain artist

I posted this in the 3g forum but I guess this one is more suitable, so if a mod would like to delete the other one that would be great.
Ok, this has never happened before and my phone is new. Not even a month old. Anyways, I synced some new music onto my Ipod and now when I click on a certain artist(Lady Gaga), it freezes for a second and crashes.... I'm extremely worried about this. And it only happens when I click on Gaga. The weird thing is, when I click on her name the first time, I goes fine, but then I went back and did the same thing, and it crashed. I even tried removing the new songs I added of hers and re syncing it and nothing. My phone isnt old at all so I dont know whats wrong. And I dont know if this makes a difference, but last night, I plugged in my phone when the battery was less than half and about a minute after i plugged it in, the ''full charge'' symbol appeared(which I thought was odd of course, because it hadnt even been in for a minute), but when I unplugged it, I was back to being less than half full.
Edit:I forgot to mention that sometimes when I sync my phone, my computer freezes and when I plug it in a ''MobileBackup encountered a problem..'' message pops up....
Anyone think they can help me out, please? (I'm very un-techy, so if you can dumb it down for me as much as possible, that would be very helpful)

I did think that so I removed the new gaga songs I had added and still nothing. Could it maybe be a totally other artists song? Because the songs worked fine before.

  • Ipod crashes when connects to computer

My 20 GB Ipod has been acting funny the last couple of days showing me the battery sign with the exclamation mark, not allowing me to turn it on, I have managed to correct this by placing it on charge with the mains adapter. The Ipod now starts fine and plays all the songs with no errors but as soon as I connect it to the computer it crashes and freezers on the position it was left in, not even reaching the "do not disconnect screen". The computer only sees it as a un- recognizable USB device. I have to restart it to get it working again but as soon as I try and complete the connection with my PC again it crashes. There is also a new sound when I start the Ipod like 2 little faint beeps that have never been there before.
Please can somebody help as I use my Ipod as my hard drive plus over 2000 songs that are not backed up.
    Thanks

I still have no look with my pod, ive tried everything, it plays fine but will not connect to the computer and crashes, i am now able to get do not disconnect sign and the disk drive logo but it just freezers and stays on that screen. It also generates a Removable disk drive in My Computer but cannot access it.
Please can somebody help me out there
    Thanks

  • New update 10.6.1 is making my iPod crash when I plug it in to update

Please help I just did the update today and when I went to plug in my ipod to add more music to it, it crashed. I waited for it to reboot and when it did I pluged it back in. I then tried to add music to the ipod again, but still same thing. Both times there was a notification that popped up saying that the sync couldn't be successfully completed because the ipod has been disconnected. I tried to reset it to factory settings thinking that it had to do with the ipod and still nothing. Everytime I go to do a software update this always happens I am really sick of it!!! Please if anyone could help I would appreciate it.

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?
    How to reset iPod
Has this iPod ever worked on this PC or is this the first time you have time you have tried connecting it?
Have you carefully worked through each and every single suggestion in this Apple support document?

  • 5G iPod Crashes when it gets cool

I was using my iPod outdoors in 40 degree weather. I had left it sitting on my deck for about half an hour, so it had time to get to ambient temp. I was able to go through the menus and choose a song, but when I hit play, the screen immediately went black, then switched to white with a black bar covering the lower 1/3rd of the screen. The ipod was totally unresponsive. I reset the iPod, and shortly after the Apple logo appeared, it reverted to the frozen screen with the black bar at the bottom.
I took the iPod back into the house, let it warm up for half an hour, and it worked perfectly. I've can reproduce the behavior every time I cool the iPod down to around 40 degrees or below.
    Any suggestions? Thanks

Since you've already tried restoring, you've done half of the work.
The next step is to drain the iPod completely. I am talking about running the battery down to the point where pressing a button won't even turn it on.
Once it gets to that point, try reconnecting it and restoring it again in iTunes. This can fix quite a few issues. However, if the problem is hardware-related... this won't help you.
    It's worth a shot, though!

  • IPod crash when updating w/ iphoto

Ok guys - old problem, new version:
I am synching my fifth gen iPod. I successfully update eveything right up until it gets to my photo (I have iphoto 6.0.5). Then itunes (7.1) says it couldn't update due to error-36. When I check the ipod all the music and movies etc are updated - but not my latest photos or smart albums.
What gives and how do I fix it?

    Attention All,
As you may see from my different posts, I had the same problem with my iPod nano 2 Gb when I ( directed by apple instructions) decided to update to 1,1, had several problems with the synchronisation of files (songs) to the iPod. From Monday untill yesterday had several restores and nothing happened. Then decided to restore and retrieve my older update 1,0, and then the iPod simply worked fine!! Apple should see immediattly this issue as from what I've read a great number of Nanos are facing difficulties when updating to 1,1 !!! Please Webmaster or anyone from Apple take an attitude!

  • IPod crashes when playing podcasts since iTunes 7 upgrade

As the title suggests, ever since installing iTunes 7 on my Mac Pro, nearly every new podcast episode I attempt to play on my iPod results in crashing/rebooting said device. After the problem started with just some podcasts the issue has since spread like a cancer to my entire podcast library.
Here is the really bizarre part: if I preplay the podcast(s) on my Mac within iTunes, they run successfully on the iPod. But then and only they will they play successfully. If a fresh (unplayed) podcast is downloaded to the iPod, it instantly and spontaneously reboots the moment I attempt to play it from there.
iTunes 7 has unleashed a torrent of bugs on my Mac. This is the worst experience I have ever had with any Apple product.

I am having the same problem. And I am disturbed that no one has responded since after searching other forums, other people are having this issue as well.
I have a 5th generation iPod and run the new 7.0 iTunes on my Windows XP Pro.
I have not yet tried to listen to the audio Podcast direct from my computer yet, but my iPod certainly crashes and resets itself whenever I try to play the Podcast.
I have already tried to unsubscribe from the Podcast this affects, and then re-subscribe, but the problem still occurs, no matter how recent of an episode I try to listen to.
iTunes 7.0 = Greatly disappointing thus far. Any sort of reccomendation, suggestion, friendly, and/or helpful advice would be lovely.
    Thank you!

  • ITunes, not iPod, crashes when certain CDs are inserted for importing...

If a folder with the artist name exists already, import stops as soon as it starts, freezes iTunes (with the "time remaining" locked on 2:30 or whatever) >> AND << suspends my internet connection. Have to reboot whole system to begin again. This occurs when I delete or change name of artist folder, too.
    Any and all insights appreciated.

    Hi,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
You might want to post this question in the iTunes for Windows Forum for a better response.

    That happens sometimes
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Crashes while syncing and fully charged

    Hi,
My Ipod crashes when its fully charged and syncing to Itunes. Anyone know how to fix?
    Thanks,

Well, I tried the five R's. My iPod still crashes out after about a 1/4 of a gig gets synched up.
I get an error message "unexpected error unable to write to ipod -124" or something like that.
What's strange is my iPod will be fully charged. Then, in the couple minutes most the iPod says its low on battery. -- I had a battery replaced only about a year ago.
Has anyone come across this problem?
