Only if a backup of the iPhone with all that data on it exists.  If one does, restore the iPhone using that backup.

  • I just updated my iTunes to the new software. When I plugged it into my computer and it said I need to reset my iPod. I did this and everything on my iPod deleted. Now, it won't let me sync my music or apps back onto my iPod. What do I do?

I just updated my iTunes to the new software. When I plugged it into my computer and it said I need to reset my iPod. I did this and everything on my iPod deleted. Now, it won't let me sync my music or apps back onto my iPod. What do I do?

It doesn't say anything. It runs through the sync process like normal and tells me all of the songs that it's synking. But then when it says I can disconnect it, nothing actually synked.

  • Ipod deleted existing songs when performing a sync

    Hi,
My Ipod deleted existing songs when performing a sync. Please advise on how to restore the files that have been deleted from the IPod.
    Best Regards,
    John Joseph

    Hey there,
How do you have your iPod set to sync music? Are the 825 songs still taking up space as other on your iPod? To look, just head in the your iPod's settings and click on About to view details.
I would try restoring the iPod in iTunes and setting it up to "automatically sync" with your iTunes library. Also, if you have it set to sync all checked songs and videos that each song you are trying to sync has a check mark next to it and that disk use is not enabled on it.
    Hope this helps.

  • My Ipod deleted 2/3rds of my songs...

My Ipod deleted at random over 2/3rds of my music. This was in between uses in which I turned it off and then about 5 hours later when I turned it on the songs I was looking for were not there. There was nothing spilled on it and I did not charge it during this 5 hour span. The Ipod just deleted the songs for some reason. My Ipod was my backup for my music. My laptop was stolen with all of my music on it so I was counting on my Ipod to place my music on my new computer. This couldn't happen because my Ipod deleted my music. I have been using Itunes to buy my music and I wanted to know if there is anything Apple can do to help me retrieve the music which my Ipod deleted that I bought through the Itunes Music Store. Can Apple let me re-download the songs I have bought through the Itunes Music Store so I can retrieve my music?

You've discovered now that the iPod makes an extremely poor music backup.
Have no idea how your iPod would have deleted 2/3 of your music. There are cases where the index becomes corrupted and all music becomes "Other". How big is "Other" on your iPod now, has it grown considerably? Did you perhaps connect this iPod to a computer to charge it?
Music is normally one time only for downloads. You can contact the iTunes Store and throw yourself on their mercy and see if they will let you download them again. And in the future you need to backup your music to an external hard drive or DVD.

  • When i sync music on ipod deleted song stay on songs list

When I sync music with iTunes on my ipod deleted songs stay on song list and cannt be deleted.

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs?

  • Ipod - Delete photos from ipod

How do you delete photos from my ipod?

    Hi Golf43,
You are in the wrong discussion forum. Go here and choose the correct category for Windows and your iPod model.
    http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=146
I can tell you that on the Mac, you would take out the images on the folder of images you are syncing to, then sync the iPod to that folder again.
So, if you didn't want any photos on your iPod, take out all the images from the folder on your HD that you are syncing to. I am not sure, but there might even be a checkbox in iTunes/iPod prefs to uncheck for photo sync.

  • My ipod deleted all my notes and I REALLY need them back! How can I get them back!?

For some reason my ipod touch 5 deleted all my notes and all the mail in my inbox its all gone. I do not have the iOS 6.1 update though. So I dont know how this could have happened. I have not backed up my ipod to my computer since I got it because thats not how I use it. But my sisters ipod 4 also for some reason had my notes downloaded onto hers? And she has recently backed up her ipod on the computer. But once the notes on mine were deleted so were hers. But since she has recently backed hers up maybe I can restore the to her ipod then to mine. If so how would I do this? I really need those notes back they were REALLY important! Thanks!

Your only hope is restoring from the bakup of your sister's iPod. For how see the restoring topic of:

  • All music on ipod Deleted?!?!?!?!

I've only had this thing for 3 months and i puged it in just a few hours ago to add a playlist and then it said"not all music will fit" and then it made a playlist to fit most of the music. But the music it put on there i didn't want all of it so i deleted the playlist to make a new one and now it says "Songs on the ipod cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist"
So what i did was i went to the MUSIC tab and checked the box that said Sync all songs and playlists after i deleted about 20 of my songs. AND it won't work still! I tried to reset it but that didn't work. PLEASE HELP!

  • Songs on Ipod deleted/ Can't Update Software

This is the second time I've had this problem, and I haven't even had the IPod for a year. I have been very dissapointed. I've been seraching the forums and have not seen any topics directly relating to my troubles. So here's my problem....
Every now and then, my IPod will freeze while listening to a song. After a few seconds, it will skip to the next song and start playing it with no problem. Well, the other day, my Ipod froze again. Instead of skipping to the next song and playing it, it start skipping through my whole library. I tried turning off and on my IPod. It did nothing. Every time I press play, it just skips through all of the songs in my library or playlist. I connected it to my computer, and surprise, it wasn't recognized by ITunes. I unplugged it from my comp, and then I noticed that all of my songs/ playlists/ podcasts had been deleted. My IPod had self-reformated. This had happened before, and I just updated the software and reloaded all of my songs. From then, it worked fine. This time I tried running the update software and got a "service error." There seems to be nothing I can do restore my Ipod, update the software, and input my songs. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same thing happen with my iPod a couple of years ago. I my case it was the remote that was causing the problem.

  • Deleting songs on iPod-deleted library in iTunes instead

I was trying to update my husband's iPod, so he created a new playlist, and I was trying to delete all of the songs on his iPod before uploading the playlist (his iPod doesn't automatically sync with iTunes).
Well, a message came up asking if we wanted to delete these songs or just delete them on the iPod. We clicked to delete them from the iPod.
Instead, the songs on his iPod were not deleted, but my ENTIRE LIBRARY was deleted instead.
UGH. I have most of the songs backed up (and no iStore songs, just CDs), but still. YUCK.
Is this a bug? Has anyone seen this before?
    Thanks,
    Amy

Amy-- No, but something similar. I wanted to clear my harddrive and just keep the songs on the ipod. So I cleared the library. The next time I connected the ipod, it automatically "updated" by deleting all the songs on ipod.
My granddaughter told me to select the manual update option. I think that prevents the problem. But I am amazed that Apple doesn't have some large warning posted to prevent your type and my type of unintended deletion.

  • How do you get pics back after you iPod deletes them?

I turned on my iPod today to show my cousin a photo I had taken of his baby. When it opened it said recovering photo library.. It had done that 1,000 times before so I didn't expect anything. After it finished I had 0 pics and 0 videos.. I know I didn't delete them because I hadn't even had my iPod it had been in my bag. I just really need to know because the pics that were on there were from the only time I got to see the baby before she had heart surgery. I cried for like 30 minutes because I have NO WAY of getting them back because my iPod wasn't backed up with iCloud and I had forgotten to put the pics on my computer. I just really need help. PLEASE HELP PLEASE!

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - The only thing left is a program like
Recover files from iPod Touch | Restore data iPod | iPod touch undelete, unformat
iPhone Recovery Stick - recover deleted text messages & more
However, no one has posted that they work and they cost money.
    In the future, backup frequently.

  • Resetting ipod deleted all content

This is a repost from a thread that lmuelle started about resetting an ipod and losing content - the initial issue was whether that should happen, and now the question is what to do if it did happen.
My iPod wasn't playing back properly - everytime I loaded a playlist or album, it would just hang for a few seconds on the first track, then skip through the tracks about 1/second all the way to the end, then go back to the root menu like it had reached the end of the album.
I followed Apple's recommendation of first resetting the ipod, and when I did, it came up showing no content whatsoever - no playlists, songs, anything.
Thing is, though, the reset only took a few seconds - not nearly enough time to delete 19 Gb worth of music and boot up - and it was working fine just an hour before.
Please somebody tell me that there's a way to solve this problem and recover my music!
    Miserable in Missouri

iP0d--a reset for an iPod is the same thing as a restart for a computer. No data is removed.
A restore, however, will erase the contents of an iPod's hard drive.
    bertramberla,
I'm fairly certain that your iPod's system software has become corrupted. The only way I'm aware of for fixing this issue is to restore the iPod.
Is it recognized by your mac?
