Ipod device not showing up under overdrive player.

Over the last couple of months I have successfully downloaded audiobooks to my nano from overdrive (windows desktop version), however over the last week my apple device is not showing as an option under overdrive 'player'.  The only option I am now receiving is USB Driver. When downloading with this option the audiobooks are not recognized.
I tried re-installing overdrive and itunes, resetting my IPOD to factory settings but the problem was not fixed.  Any help I can receive will be appreciated.

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.
Then try with the iPod in forced disk mode.
Putting iPod into disk mode.
Still no joy, see these.
iTunes 7 doesn't recognize the iPod.

  • Network devices not showing up under "shared" in finder bar

Ok so i have a network that consists of a maxtor nas device, 2 win xp pc's, 1 win7 pc, d-link 524 router, and my macbook pro. I would like to be able to transfer files between my mac and the devices and use the printer attached to my maxtor. My issue is that none of the computers show up under the "shared" section of finder or under network. I use to have this issue with leopard but it resolved itself. Now under snow leopard for a couple months and i have yet to get it work. I can access my mac and other pcs from a pc. Anyone know how to get my network to show up on my mac?

Your problem is very common under Snow. At first my shares did not show up under shared in finder windows. I, then, of course, used "Connect to Server" to connect to the shares--both Mac and PC. I found that the more I kept the shares active the more likely they were show up under shared. Then, I discovered that if I kept the computers from sleeping during the period of needed access they would tend to stay in shared without nearly so much keeping the connections active.
If you do not like the above work around, then there are two other possibilities. You can elect to show mounted items on your desktop. Do that and connect to each share. Then, go > users > unlock > + login options > try dragging the mounted shares to the login item window. If successful, then the shares should be available at login.
Another approach is to mount and connect as indicated above. Then, making an alias to the share should at least make things faster.

  • Ipod device not showing on side bar

Ever since I updated my Itunes to the latest update, it won't show my Ipod under the devices section. I 've gone to the support section of Itunes Apple, nothing helped. Whenever I plug my Ipod into the computor, a message from CameraWindow pops up saying: No camera detected. I think this means I've somehow changed the setting (Is that even possible from just updating ITunes?)
    Please help!

Try uninstalling iTunes and then reinstall it.
I pulled this out of an Apple Support forum, check if these work.
Ensure that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. iTunes 10 and later requires Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later.
Update to the latest version of iTunes and Install software updates on your Mac.
Check USB connections. iOS devices require USB 2.0 to function properly. If you are not sure if your Mac has USB 2.0 ports, refer to the computer's specifications. Disconnect other USB devices, and connect your device directly to a USB port on your Mac.
    Restart your Mac.
Mac OS X v10.6.8 or earlier only: Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service.

  • All songs not showing up in media player

I loaded songs onto my 8gb microsd card. I can see that the songs are on the card (on the computer and in the phone) but all of them do not show up under media player. When I explore the memory card, I can play the songs that are not on the media player when I go through the folders so I know they are not DRM protected. How can I get the songs to show up in the media player?

    Hi,
If you are able to see the songs on the media card and they play as well, I wouldn't
think the method to move the media is the issue. The issue seems to be the
    indexing of the catalogue.
On the Blackberry go to the main media home screen.
Menu key, explore, media card. Find the music folder, menu key show hidden.
Delete the BBthumbs.dat file. Do a battery pull and return to the media screen
and let the phone fully re-index the files. See if you have all files listed.
    Thanks,

My classic iPod is not showing up anymore under devices in my iTunes library. How do I get it to be recognized so I can transfer my iPhone purchases to my classic iPod?

    Hello johnohuk,
Thanks for the question. It sounds like most of your music was purchased from the iTunes Store. If your country supports iTunes in the Cloud, you can download your past purchases using this article:

  • Why does my ipod not show up under my mac devices?

When I go under devices on the finder list my ipod does not show up. I have restarted my mac and reconnected the ipod to both usb ports and it still doesn't show up . It does however show up under itunes, which doesn't help as I want to manually sync music from ipod to mac? unless there is another way of syncing music to itunes without having my exsisting music in itunes mix with the music on the ipod ?

That is normal. the iPod does not appear in Finder.
The only way to sync music is via iTunes.

  • My iPod will not show up in the Itunes device list plus I get an error message

    Hello!
My iPod will not show up in the Itunes device list plus I get an error message
" One or more devices is getting too much power from the USB wire" or sumptin like that.
I've tried this with two wires, so the problem is not there.
I reseted the iPod to factory settings but it didn't help.
    Anyone??

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another USB port and computer
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
