Ipod disabled and will not connect to itunes
hi guys! I'm having a problem with my ipod touch 4g 8gb, i recently put in a new password and forgot it. I tired to figure it out many times but failed, so know the screen says ''Ipod is disabled connect to Itunes''. My computer or itunes (or whatever) will not recognize my ipod! the device charges but the itunes page doesnt pop up as it normally did, i cant sync or even restore anything. If anyone has had this problem or knows how to solve it please please let me know i really need help.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

HT1212 How do you unlock iPhone when its disabled and will not connect o iTunes
My iphone is locked. Says iPhone is disabled, connect to iTunes. But when i connect ot iTunes it does not connect. Tells me to put in my password inwhich I cant because it is disabled. This is an iPhone 4 that is not used as a phone but an iTouch for my daughter. No phone capapbilities.
power your phone completely down, plug the cord into the computer but not the iphone. Once the phone is completely powered down hold down the home button while you plug in the phone and continue to hold it down until you see the iTunes icon. that is recovery mode. Restore to manufacture settings. Unless you have a back up all your info will be lost

I disabled my cousins iPhone by pressing random numbers until his iPhone said ; iPhone is disabled connect to iTune ; in red on his front screen. He is in a different province for a month from where he last backed up his iPhone. We tried connecting it to iTunes, but it says it cannot be connected unless the iphones passcode is put in.. which is impossible. Is there some way i can restore his iphone without him losing ANYTHING on it.. like today...
Put the device in DFU mode and restore.
When he gets back to the computer that he normally syncs with, he can restore from his backup. Everything since that last backup will be lost.
Start apologizing now... keep it up for a few months to several years.
Then hopefully you will learn to leave other peoples stuff alone. -
Since downloading iOS 8 on my iPad 2 it has stopped working and will not connect to iTunes
Since downloading iOS 8 on my iPad 2 it has stopped working and will not connect to iTunes to do a restore. I have tried to do a reset using the sleep button and home key and all I get is a white band across the screen and then it boots into the main system but it is just a series of white lines going across the screen, how can I do a restore on this?
Hey dbwithers,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your iPad after attempting to update to iOS 8. To isolate these issues, let’s try placing your iPad in recovery mode and attempting a restore with iTunes:

After trying to download ios 7, iPad will not charge, will not open and will not connect to itunes. Sometimes, screen will switch from Apple logo to low battery notification, but doesn't look as if battery is charging.
Connect with cable to computer. Your ipad is in recovery mode.

Hi, I HATE to ask for help with this, but I HAVE looked everywhere and Google searched different wordings and have not found anything similar nor a solution to my problem! My good old iPod 4th-gen charges just fine in any wall outlet, in any house, but when I connect it to my brand new ASUS laptop that has Windows-8 and 3.0 USB ports using the charging/data cable, the charging process just keeps "blinking" BOTH the iPod and the laptop and it will not connect to ITunes and I get "A Device is Detected" message that keeps popping up and going away over and over right above the Windows desktop toolbar. When I go to control panel and select "Devices" it does show the iPod, but for only a split second and than it disappears, but than it comes back again for a split second and than it disappears again and just keeps doing that over and over and over! I have tried resetting the iPod while it is plugged into the laptop by holding the power and menu buttons, that did no good. I also tried uninstalling iTunes and any other Apple stuff listed and reinstalling it all, that did NOT work! The iPod, the laptop and iTunes ARE all fully updated! I AM using a brand new charging/data cable that I just opened up an hour ago (I've learned to keep a few brand new ones around at all times since these piece of garbage rip-off cables hardly last a week, even when you baby them!). I also tried a few old cables, they all do the same thing! I would like to get this piece of junk to connect to my new laptop, even if only once, so that I can change/delete some songs and transfer a few dozen photos, since I haven't been able to do any of that stuff since my old laptop (that NEVER had any problems connecting) died way back in May! lol. I hope somebody knows a fix or solution! Thank You!

My ipod shuffle is brand new and will not connect to itunes
my ipod shuffle will not connect to itunes and it is brand new and i have used other ipods on this computer.
When you take this one back, be sure to have your USB docking cable checked, to make sure it is not the thing that is defective.
Also, make sure you have USB cable plug completely inserted into the headphones jack. The fit is sometimes tighter than expected, especially when the shuffle is new. This is apparently enough of an" issue" that Apple has a tech support doc about it

Need help. iPod disabled and unable to connect to iTunes for a restore???
Please Help!!! My iPod touch is giving me a red box error stating "iPod is Disabled" and telling me to connect to iTunes. I tried to connect to iTunes but am getting the error message "iTunes could not connect to iPod because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod before it can be used with iTunes".
I am unable to enter the passcode because the iPod touch is disabled and will not let me.
Does anyone know what to do?
Thanks for your help.Connect in recovery mode and restore, you'll get the option to reset the passcode during this process:
iOS: Unable to update or restore and iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software. -
I have activated the passcode lock on my iPad sometimes ago and now I foregot it, I entered several passcode but non was correct, now the iPad nis disabled and would not connect to the iTunes. what can be done to unlock my iPad?
If you've forgotten the passcode then you will need to connect the iPad to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808

My IPod will not connect with my computer has been freezing up and I have already tried restoring it. Does anyone know of anything else that can done?
- Have you tried resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next connect the iPod to your computer. If it shows in iTunes restore the iPod.
- If it did not show, see if placing the iPod in recovry mode will make it visible so you can restore the iPod. -
My iPhone4 is unable to start, and will not connect to iTunes. Please help!
I've had my phone for about 3 months now, and I've already had to have it replaced. I got a new one about 3 weeks ago, and until last night it has worked perfectly fine. Last night, it turned off, and will not turn back on. I've reset it countless times, but it goes right to the Apple logo and then freezes for hours. It has been plugged in all night to, so it is fully charged. I tried connecting to iTunes but it will not connect. Someone please help
