IPod disconnects in the middle of updating
Everytime i try to update my ipod, it disconnects. then, it will come back up on my computer and disappear again. It will also open a window asking my setup my ipod (wich i tried doing 4 times). i dont know wat to do.
please help!
thnx
Does the mini even have a wireless card (Airport) in it? If you are using your Airport card to share internet (the mini is connected to the network via an ethernet cable), then you might want to check with the mini forum people for some help. Rebooting to restore WiFi seems to be rather extreme.
I don't believe your touch is going to cause this type of problem. If you want to test it, turn Airplane mode on before you go to bed. If your Mac mini is locked, then you probably need to look to what is going on with the mini.

Ipod Disconnects In the Middle of Uploading Session!!!
when i upload anything (songs, photos, movies) the ipod will upload them halfway, or three fourths of the way and then disconnect. the icon from itunes disappears, as well as the do not disconnect sign on the ipod. what do i do, to complete the upload? Help, please =(
you assume correctly, but what does that matter? is
it really relevent?
I asked because it does matter. Microsoft has had an issue with their USB drivers since day one. There is even a list of devices that may suddenly be ignored by the OS (they admit to an I/O issue). You might try and unload your USB drivers and let Windows reinstall them on a reboot. Check on the MS Technet site for intermittent USB issues. I wouldn't rule out a USB issue yet.
On the other hand, if others are experiencing a similar issue, it may be your Ipod. I hope you can resolve it. -
My ipod froze in the middle of updating to new iOS 6
and i did the hold lock and home button thinking it will make it faster. it turned my ipod off but it didnt go to my home screen. it went to white. i held the buttons again now it went to a different color. currently the screen is green. please help. my ipod is the 4th generation
Try a hard reset. To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Don't be afraid to try this more than once.

so i was updating my ipod touch (4g) to ios 6 and i needed to stop it in the middle of updating. so i held the home button and the lock button at the same time for it to restart. It started turning on with the apple symbol and then the screen went white. I kept trying to do the same thing but it wouldnt work. Eace time i did that the screen was a different color. I was yellow/white at one point, blue at another time and sometimes the color behind the apple symbol. It got really HOT and i just let it die. When it was dead i put it on a charger. once it got charged up it started turning on with the apple symbol. then it turned white again and then restarted without me touching anything. When it restarted it turned the blue again. i took it off the charger immediantly because i didnt want it getting as hot as it was before. ive tried every way i know how to fix it but not putting it in the computer because i dont want it to ruin the computer. Please help because i really dont want to get a new ipod. Ive read a lot about how to fix it here on apple but there all the same answer and it still doesnt work. Please respond ASAP! thank you! i could really use your help right now!
First see if placing the iPod in Recovery Mode will allow a restore.
Next try DFU mode and restore.

If not successful then time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. You are not alone with this problem. -

My laptop died in the middle of updating my iPhone 4 and now my phone is frozen. What do I do?
First try forcing it to shut down: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds.
If you don't get anywhere, restoring it is the next step:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector)release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert ("iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode").
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links. -
I was in the middle of updating to 7.0.3 and Itunes stopped working. Now my phone is stuck in limbo (apple logo with status bar under) My power button doesnt work (of course) How do I get it back to normal?
I have same issue. I click on the home button and Wake/sleep at the same time for 30 seconds or more and then the phone entered in Recovery mode. It is erasing my content now and installing the update. Let´s see how this ends. I have iCloud, iTunes match, and backups from previos versions, hope I can restore all my content.
Otherwise I´ll go to the Genius Bar to do a checkup.
Good luck!
It did not work the first time... The iPhone4 kept in limbo. Then I did disconnect as suggested above and tried again to enter in Recovery mode. This second time it works. And after restoring the iPhone4 with 7.0.3, it asked me if I want to recover from backup. I did recover from my latest back up and now it is syncing the content. -
My Iphone4S was in the middle of updating its latest software then suddenly it switched off, it hasnt turned on since and I've tried to reset it but only the apple sign appears then the plug into ittnes symbol. I've tried to plug it into itunes but it says my phone is on repair mode which is why it needs to be restored first in order to connect to itunes. I have also then tried to restore it but the error sign appears.

You may need to try this More than Once...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4
Note:
Some users have reported as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necessary before success. -

If this has happened more than once the problem is likely on your PC.

IPhone 5
I have an app that appeared to need to be updated. I clicked to update three days ago. It has started to update and will not finish. How can I delete the app while its in the middle of updating?Locked on an update can mean a couple of different things. So there are a number of things to try, but start with these.
If you have a "waiting" icon, try tapping on the icon and see if you can pause the update/download. Of it pauses, tap on it again and see if it will resume.
Try holding down on the icon until all of the icons on the screen wiggle. If the X to delete pops up on the waiting/stalled app - tap the X to delete the app. Tao,the home button and the apps will stop wiggling.
You can also try this and see if the downloads will resume. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
