Ipod displays friend's playlist and not mine

Hey everyone,
A couple days ago my friend brought his ipod mini over so we could listen to his music on my computer. After we were finished with it I just unplugged it from the computer without ejecting it...just not thinking. Anyways, I then plugged in my ipod to listen to some music (I am studying in the UK so i brought my ipod over so i could listen to songs on the computer i have here) and instead of coming up as "Heath's Ipod" it came up as my friend's ipod under "Raymond's Ipod" and had his playlist displayed on the itunes screen. However, I couldn't play any of his songs and my songs didn't even show up. Also, my Ipod is showing his songs but cannot play them. It also says that my ipod is still full (3.7 gigs) but just won't show my songs. I would just reformat the ipod but I don't have any of the music over here because it's on my computer back home. If anybody can help me out I would really appreciate it! Thanks.

You can rename it b plugging it into iTunes, double clicking the name and typing in the name you want it to be called, if you want to change the ownership you need to ring up apple.

IPad 2 - iPod display change between Playlists and Music

Is there a way to set the iPod in the iPad 2 to display a song listing when in a playlist, but display the album listing when in the Music section, like in iTunes?

Is there a "New" button at the top right of the Playlists section of Music?
There is no Edit button to delete music, swipe sideways on the song to reveal the delete button. Tap and hold on the artwork in Artists and albums to reveal the (X) button to delete. Or connect the iPad back up to iTunes on the computer and check your sync settings for music to ensure you are syncing the right content.

'Audiobooks' menu on ipod displays chapters (allmixed up) and not Titles

I have imported many Audiobooks, from CD's I own, to iTunes. I have transferred them from the 'Music' Library to the 'Audiobooks' Library by clicking 'get info', then 'options' and then setting 'Media Kind' to 'Audiobook'
They are of course stored like music albums, with Book chapters instead of tracks and book titles instead of Albums. Therefore in iTunes 'Audiobook' Library, when you click 'view' and 'as cover flow' you can scroll through all the book titles and view the sequential chapters of that book all stored as it should be. Perfect.
However, on new iPod Classic 120gb, when you select 'Music' and then 'Audiobooks' it doesn't open into book titles, it opens straight into chapters (tracks) What's worse is that all the chapters from all the different books are mixed up so there's nothing even sequential about those chapters. I just have a jumbled mess of mixed up chapters. Now if I transfer the audiobooks back to the 'Music' Library then I can browse Book titles by clicking 'Music' then 'Albums' and by selecting a title I can browse the chapters in it all as they should be.
So what am I doing wrong? How do I store my audiobooks in the 'Audiobooks' Library in a way that is usable?

For what it's worth here's a suggestion I've previously thrown at iPod Feedback without any obvious success. Feel free to adapt and add your own voice.

It seems the original idea for this feature was one audiobook, one file. In practice many audiobooks are released as albums with chapters taking up one or more tracks. The iPod Audiobooks menu should behave similarly to the Podcasts menu. Ideally audiobooks should be grouped into authors, then into books displaying album art. The tracks of Audiobooks should have an unplayed flag like those for podcasts which should be extended to display a half-circle for files that have been partially played. Clicking Play on an audiobook should start playing the first unfinished track from the bookmarked position. Select should display the list of tracks with the most recent unfinished track pre-selected in the list. When playing in sequence the next track (played or unplayed) would start playing from the beginning rather than the book-marked position. Next would first skip to any bookmark in that file, then the next track.

Cannot put songs from one ipod to the other, playlist do not show up on new ipod page

Having trouble transferring songs from my old ipod (2nd gen) to 3rd gen ipod nano. How can I save the playlists from the ipod to put on the nano?

Are the songs from the original Ipod downloaded onto the computer where you are going to add the playlist to the new Ipod?
If so, then it would be as easy as clicking the playlist and scrolling into the new Ipod.
If not, then then you may need to the computer you were using for the original Ipod to get the playlist and songs on to the new Ipod. If you have no back up of the original Ipod there is a software called Copytrans.net which will retrieve the music from the old Ipod.

It sounds as though you are experiencing an issue with an Apple ID and authorizations. Based on your post, it sounds like you are familiar with the authorizing and deauthorizing process. The Apple ID in question (your wife's email) may be originating from the iPhone you are attempting to update. Is it possible that your wife created an Apple ID or iCloud account which is signed in on that iPhone? My imported music only appears in playlist and not my music library

Hello,
I have recently reinstalled itunes on my PC. I am trying to import my music into itunes but it is appearing as a playlist and not in the music folder (i.e. I have 100's of playlists listed on the left playlist pane but nothing is appearing in the music library folder. Does anyone know how to fix this. The steps that I am performing so far are:
- File
- Add Folder to Library
....this is where the trouble starts
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I'm having the same infuriating problem! I added an MP3 file to my iTunes Music Library - and it doesn't appear! I also purchased an MP3 album from Amazon, added it to the library - and it DOES NOT appear!
I can right click the file (Windows Vista 64) and select "Open file with..." and it will play on iTunes. I can even add the file into a Playlist, but it still will not appear in the general Music Library!!!
I've searched everywhere for a solution and no help. Yes, I do have it selected to Copy File to Library.

First go here - https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and login under the manage tab. Check your information and be sure it is all correct.
An AppleID is nothing more than an email address, so if you see another email address in the store, then someone has logged in with a different AppleID than yours. Did you let someone else use your iPhone?

What generation is your neighbour's and what generation is yours??
Sometimes the changes in the TC and firmware can make wireless fail.. also location is important.. the location of your neighbours might be better than yours.. his also might interfere with yours.. set a fixed channel and try the various channels.

Sure, but you need to work out how the network is going to work.. if you are still picking up network from wireless.. then set static ip for the TC in a different IP range.. set no gateway (router ip) or dns and it will work just fine.

You do not mention it, but I will assume you are running OS 10.9.1.
Go to: Apple menu / System Preferences / Users & Groups. Click the padlock and enter your password.
Click the + (plus sign) and set up a new account for your wife. You have to enter a bunch of info. And then create the correct Login Options. Automatic login does not require a password from the selected user.
When that is done, verify the account works by restarting the computer and login as your wife.
Make sure that any applications in your own Users folder that will be needed are moved to the Applications folder in your wife's Users folder.
Now go back to Users and Groups, click the padlock and authenticate, select your own account, and hit the - (minus sign). This step cannot be reversed, so you might want to wait a few days before doing it.
When your wife is logged in, the App Store will know.

Are you using a Mac? It sounds like you are using his computer to sync to. If this is the case, then it will sync to all of his stuff unless a new user is created with your personal stuff on it.
When you want to sync your iPhone to that computer, switch to your user first, and then everything will sync with your stuff. If he wants to hook up his iPhone to sync it, then he needs to switch back to his own username first.

If a restore of the iPod via iTunes does not address the issue, it's likely hardware related. You'll need to have your iPod's screen replaced either by Apple, a third party repair company, or yourself.
