Ipod Dock connected to Panasonic TV

My dock came with the TV but I am not able to access the Viera Ipod music, etc.
Error message claims "check ipod connection". The dock itself will charge my Ipod while attached to TV with no problem. Can anyone help?

Hi iPodista;
I would recommend very strongly that you don't even attempt do this. Generally cross connecting in this fashion is a very good way to get yourself into serious troble.

  • IPod dock connected to both firewire and usb at same time

I have 3 ipods, 3G 4G 60gb photo 5G 80gb vid. I have a 5G doc and a dual usb / firewire cable. I prefer to manage my 3G and 4G using firewire as it is oh so quicker. However 5G requires usb2 only. I have a Apple 'dual' usb/firewire port cable that at the moment to use I alternate which socket is plugged into the front port of my PowerMac G5 as they are the only spare ports I have.
I just bought an Iomega Ultra Max which comes with a built in firewire and usb hub that means i now have enough ports to dedicate one of each to the ipods but want to use only one dock and so I would like to plug both the firewire and usb iPod cable into the hub and leave them there connected to the iPod dock. I know it won't cause problems when the 5G is connected as there is no hardware for firewire connection. But the 4G has both.. will I encountering a usb and firewire conenction cause problems and possible damage to the ipod or my PowerMac G5, will the 4G ipod use firewire in prefeance to USB if it will work???

  • Ipod dock connected to my usb time capsule port?

Is it possible to sync my ipod connecting it to the usb port of my time capsule?
Will itunes see my ipod this way? or just and external HD?
I'm actually out of usb ports, so it would be great if i can do this.
    Thanks!

I would recommend a USB hub instead. I don't know if it works but if it does it will be painfully slow for what you are doing.

  • IPod Tv via blu-ray theatre system iPod Dock -- Help!

I am trying to watch videos from my iPod Touch 2G by using the iPod dock on my panasonic blu-ray home theatre system. A message popped up saying
"Please refer to the iPod display for operations. If you want to view photo(s) or watch video(s), please switch TV input mode to "Video" (Composite video)"
How do I go about making this work? I have searched every where for an answer and have found nothing.
    Thank you for the help,
    Erik

    Hello, Welcome to discussions.
On your iPod Touch, If you go to
-Settings - iPod - TV out controls are at the bottom. Where you can control Wide Screen On/Off, and use either NTSC or PAL. Along with controlling closed captioning if it is available on the videos you are playing.

  • Computer will not boot when iPod is connected

    Hi everyone,
First time Mac user here, so I'm not very experienced when it comes to troubleshooting - there may be a very simple fix for this, but I've searched online and come up with nothing so far.
I've recently bought a 20" Intel-based iMac (Core 2 Duo). I'm using Boot Camp (1.1.2 Beta) to dual boot with Windows. I already owned a 30gb iPod, which has previously been used with a Windows laptop. The iPod has disk mode enabled as I use it for transporting data as well as music and video.
Now that I'm using the iMac as my main comptuer, I keep the iPod docked & connected whenever I'm not out of the house in order to keep it charged & synchronised. However, if the iMac has to restart for any reason (like switching between Mac OS and Windows, or rebooting after a system update), it will not continue booting after making the chime sound. The screen remains white, holding the option key does not display the Boot Camp menu, and no matter how long it's left like this it will not continue to boot either OS. Pressing the Power button causes the computer to immediately switch off. Turning it on again after removing the iPod from the dock results in it booting normally.
Has anyone had any similar experiences?
    Thanks

Because you said you use the iPod as an external hard drive, I am going to assume that it's not a nano, shuffle, or mini. What I suspect is that the computer is trying to boot from the iPod because the iPod actually has a hard drive in it, and the iMac thinks that it's an external hard drive that it can boot from. In the future, I would disconnect the iPod before each time you shut-down or restart your iMac.
    Hope this Helps

  • Front Row Using iPod Dock - Is it possible.

Hello there. I've been trying to find some info on the iPod Dock only because I've heard from some that it includes the Apple Remote, but can not seem to get this confirmed on either the apple store or amazon.
First off is it even possible to use the remote with the iPod Dock? From my understanding it is, so if that's the case wouldn't it then be possible to use Front Row on the Mac Pro since the IR port is now technically there?
I mean mainly I use my Mac Pro for doing work, but as the system is in my bedroom I think that it's kind of silly that I can't lay in bed at night and watch a movie without having to get up out of bed or something. That's really my only complaint about the system.. you pay a fairly larger amount more for being able to use a feature that's already built into the system the only means to access it is to purchase a separate ~$600 system.
Oh well sorry to rant off. Anyway, can you control Front Row on the Mac Pro using the iPod Dock?
    Cheers
    -rr

I'd like to be able to also do this with my iMac G5, the iPod dock connected to it and my Apple Remote. Unfortunately, a search of versiontracker.com finds lots of apps to extend functionality on Macs that already are supported (ie have built in IR), as well as apps that let you use Bluetooth devices as a clicker on any Mac.
    Anyone got a suggestion?

  • My ipod (older one) does not connect to my dvd player which has an ipod docking station

i have a samsung 3d dvd player that has a ipod docking station but my ipod wont connect - i have an older version of the ipod (one of the first ones to come out); could this be the reason

I have had this happen with numerous stereos and docking stations. What I've learned to do is bring my iPod into the store with me before I purchase any new electronics. I have no idea why this happens (or rather, doesn't happen), but it does. I think Apple is trying to get us to buy new iPods. :-)

  • Ipod wont connect to any pc's but charges on a dock

    Hello,
I have the 5th gen ipod and recently my sister dropped it in the bath, i left it to dry for a week and, to my surprise, it turned back on. When i try to plug it into my pc nothing happens. i have tried it on a few pc's with no luck. The srange thing is that it still manages to charge on an ipod dock that i have got.
    Many thanks in advance

^iPod Surgeon just wants your money. He should take his self advertising spam somewhere else.
Since it still charges on your dock, I think you're in good shape.
perhaps all you have to do it get iTunes to recognize it. There are a bunch of things you can try.
For starters: the USB cable you are using could be the problem. You can try connecting using a different one
    heres more info http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716
also I see you have Windows XP like me. Connect you iPod to PC using the USB cord you have. Then open the 'MY COMPUTER'icon on your desktop.
Does your iPod show up in there with your other drives??

  • IPod Nano dock connection

Does iPod Nano has a dock connection? I am still using iPod mini, wish I can use all my other accessories. Thanks Alex

Apple Universal dock & ipod Universal Dock will work with any iPods with dock connector slots.
I have found that all the dock-connecting accessories which I used with my iPod mini will work fine with the new 3G nano.
I suggest you visit <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300233> for more info.

  • Anyone made an iPod Touch connection to Nordictrack elliptical dock?

We have a new iPod Touch and trying to connect to the "certified" iPod dock on the ASR 1000 Nordictrack elliptical. Using adapter from Nordictrack - works with iPod Nano but not with iPod Touch. Just static and low background sound. Anyone else have this problem and resolution?

Received a response from Nordictrack customer support. He says that "The ipod touch uses different software than the other ipod products, and
is not compatable with the ipod connections on any of our machines. " I suspect that you are correct about them using the incorrect protocol.

  • I previously chipped the corner of my dock connecter on my iPod touch.

Hello, I previously chipped the corner of my dock connecter on my iPod touch. It doesn't allow me to sync music, movies, etc.from my pc. Although it still let's me charge it and it shows that it's connected to my pc, but it just doesn't allow me to sync anything. I recently bought it about 2 months ago and I have a one year warranty on it. So please help me on what to do with it. Thank you!

I do not think that it is covered by the warranty. The warranty includes:
    This warranty does not apply: (a) to consumable parts, such as batteries or protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (b) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports; (c) to damage caused by use with another product; (d) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, liquid contact, fire, earthquake or other external cause;
    (bold is mine)
Apple will exchange it for a refurbished one for $99, $149 or $199 depending upon the capacity. A third-party place may be less expensive. Here is one but it does not list your repair. Google for more.
