IPod doesn`t recog./indicate any longer, after inadvertent connect. firewir

Dear Users,
perhaps some of you can help me with this problem:
since I connect my iPod 5G with the Firewire-Cord of my son´s iPod mini, my iPod isn´t recognized any longer on every Computer i connect him via USB!
The notice on my iPod after the Connection via Firewire, that there is no sync over Firewire, looks ok for me. But after replacing it with my USB-Cord, it only lights on, but no "Do not disconnect" is shown on the Display, nor the System Profiler find it on the USB-Bus. Even on a PC at work, it will be recognized as "New Hardware".
Any ideas?

I have just had the same thing happen to me...no solution, I tried resetting etc...nothing. My connection now gives warning that "ipod is connected to a low-speed USB 1.1 port....you should connect it to a high-speed USB 2.0 port"... Trouble is all of my macs have usb 2.0 and since using the firewire (as a charger) it now thinks they are all USB 1.1 ports.
Please help us

Ipod doesn't respond to any keys or turn off.

I have a 30g Ipod vedio. While upldating the library in the manual mode, I got a a message in Itunes that my Ipod is corrupted and needs to be restored. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting my ipod, since then my ipod is not resonding to any keys, and I can't turn it off or on. It has a "do not disconnect" message on it's screen, even when it is disconnected. And my computer doesn;t recognize the USB device anymore when I connect it.
Even when I connect my ipod to a power adapter it does not come to the menu screen.
I have exausted all possible options that I know of, to set it right. Any help on this would be much appreciated/

Before you get too deep into this issue, are you sure that your "hold" switch isn't on?
The "hold" switch is located on the top of your iPod. The On position should be orange-colored, and the Off position is a grey-colored area.
Are you able to reset your iPod? Press and hold the "Menu" and center buttons together for about 7 seconds.
If you can't reset it, try connecting it to another power source (like a portable power adaptor), and instantly disconnect it after a few seconds. This may hopefully break it out of "Do Not Disconnect".

Keyboard does not workd any longer after re-opening the Laptop / OS sleep (Win XP SP2 + SP3)

I have a problem and if someone else knows a solution or encountered the same, some feedback would be great.
On my Z61 I experienced it sometimes when I was out for presentations that after opening the lid of the laptop and the OS recovered from sleep, the whole keyboard did not work any longer. Even such special key-combos like switching thinklight on or off did not work any longer.
The only thing I can do then is to press the power button down for some seconds to force the computer to switch off. Logically, any unsaved work is lost then. Any Ideas? I recently removed all ThinkVantage Components and then re-installed them because I was experiencing problems with the software. Now everything else works again but this keyboard switched off problem appeared again.

I have sp3, t60. From time to time my keyboard and touchpad are not working but external mouse is working. Searching through the internet i observed that this is not only my case, i assume this is XP SP3 problem.
How I am solving this: going to software manager, droping keyboard device. Here windows behavior differs from time to time, it can ask me for reboot, and can just go for reboot without any prompt. In any case after droping device i am getting keyboard working, and after several reboots touchpad starts to work.
On SP2 i had never experienced this problem.

[Ecore] xsd2ecore files not readable any longer after migration to Mars

When working in Luna, I had no problems to visualise the contents of xsd2ecore files with the Ecore to XML Mapping Editor.
Now that I've migrated to Eclipse Mars, the files do not seem readable any longer. The editor emits two errors :

The XML Mapping Editor isn't the same as the XSD to Ecore Model Editor.
So it sounds like you don't have the right editor/model plugins
installed. In particular, the org.eclipse.emf.mapping.xsd2ecore bundle
must be installed for any editor to recognize this model. You can
update your installation to install it from the Mars repository.

IPod doesn't work on the iPhone after upgrading to ios4

Well, as the subject text says, my iPod does not longer work after upgrading.
I can open it, and after two seconds it "falls" out. It worked a little longer earlier today, but when I downloaded a podcast it didn't appear in the podcast folder.
I have restarted the phone several times and it still doesn't work

To take the magic out of it, it seems that the upgrade had trouble with transferring data. Not only did my ipod not work, but I also lost my ringtones. I saw a different post that suggested to go back to itunes and to uncheck the sync ringtones box, then sync, then re-check it and sync again. That worked. I tried the same thing for my music. It worked. Unchecking the sync music box will erase the music from your phone, and then when you re-sync, it will load the music all over again. At least it worked.

Can't open Tomtom download as it doesn't support PowerPC any longer?

Have just been trying to download my TOMTOM onto new Mac Book Air and it won't open and install the download as the message says it doesn't support the PowerPC applications are no longer supported. Any ideas?

Ipod 6th gen not showing any music after successful sync

Hi all,
My ipod 6th gen has just started doing something odd.
When I plugged it in it said it couldnt be read and I had to restore it.
I did this, but now when I sync'd all my music back to the ipod, it seems to work, but when I unplug the nano and try to play some music there is nothing available to play.
Any ideas?
I have the latest version of itunes, and the ios on the iPod is up to date.
The Sync seems to work, and in itunes you can see that there is music on the ipod. But the ipod itself shows nothing available to be played.

TS1363 iPod doesn't show up on computer after iTunes update.

Less then a month and it was working just fine. Did the new download for iTunes and now the iPod won't work. The computer will not see it and the message telling me that a iPod is there but ... I can't remember... I have waisted the whole day using every option on every page ever listed on this thing. If I can't get a fix other then what I have already tried, I will take it back to the store, get my money back and buy a different product. I was warned not to buy Apple, I thought that I was safe as this was made more then a year ago and is still listed on most lists as one of the best. WRONG!

there are a million posts about this SAME issue. A LOT of people's crashed right around thanksgiving, or whenever itunes 6 came, some people on the discussions page have found fixes but they don't work for everybody... if you are using a PC and not an iMac then ur going to have to go through a lot of steps. Whereas if you buy an iMac (which ipods just so happen to be compatible with) then ur not going to have too many problems. COINCIDENCE???

I have a iPod classic 80GB (2008) which no longer plays or connects to iTunes

My iPod worked faultlessly until recently when it suddenly began having difficulties connecting to iTunes and the wall charger. I managed to reset the iPod and it worked as usual for 2 days but then it decided to revert back to not working. When connected to the computer, the screen flickers with an Apple logo every 2 seconds but there is no other connectivity. Pressing the iPod central button and Menu together brings up the logo for a few seconds but makes no difference. I have changed connectors with no difference.
Now it is completely dead unless i connect it to a radio with an iPod dock. Then it works as normal and states it is fully charged! I can navigate the Menu and select songs. However, as I can't connect to iTunes I can't add any new songs and I can't take it anywhere with me.
It has been well taken care of since new and lives in a protected cover. What is wrong and How do I fix?

i don't know why my mini ipod doesn't work anymore (it doesn't read the songs!) after i connected it with an imac g3. i started my ipod with a pc... and transfered a program for mac with it... then i connected it with the mac and now it doesn't read the mp3... suggestions?

Try to do a Reset and a Restore, bear in mind please make sure that you have all the music with your iTunes on your computer, as doing a Restore will erase all the data in your iPod

Cannot play bought music on iPod Mini (any longer)

My iPod Mini refuses to play (any longer!!!) the songs I bought in the Music Store. It just skips the songs from the moment they are activated. In iTunes the music is played without any problems.

Cannot change filename extensions any longer

Hi,
this morning I encountered a strange problem:
In Finder, I cannot change the file name extensions any longer. When I hit enter and change e.g. Example.txt to Example.taskpapertheme, it will automatically be renamed to Example.taskpapertheme.txt as soon as I hit enter. I _can_ rename it via the Get Info-pane, on the other hand. I tried it in the Applications folder too, and it will always add the "correct" extension to the one I chose instead of just asking me whether I really want to do this.
Then again, I just renamed an .taskpapertheme file to .txt, and it worked. I could even reverse this, so the problem seems to be limited to some files.
I have no idea what to do, so I'd really appreciate your help!

Thank you, but unfortunately that didn't help.
I know about extensions and file types, but normally OS X will let me change it if I really want to do it, even if it's stupid like renaming .app to .txt.
The problem is, that OS X doesn't ask me any longer, but automatically adds the previous externsion to the filename after the extension I need to make some program recognize it. In my example, the theme files for TaskPaper are plain text files, but only load if they are named .taskpapertheme - unfortunately I cannot rename it in Finder as it will always add .txt when I finish editing the filename.

I cannot connect to my camera at all. I have tried turning it off then on and downloading all the camera apps but it still won't work. My iPod doesn't even give me the option to use anywhere.

My iPod doesn't give me any choice to access the camera. I have tried sownloading a camera app and restarting my iPod but when I had the camera app the screen just turned black. Any idea what's going on?

Try the following:
- A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

Microsoft word documents suddenly can't be saved any longer

On my MacBook Pro, suddenly Microsoft Word doesn't save documents any longer. It goes into "searching for printer" mode and freezes up entire laptop.Any suggestions?
