Ipod doesn't turn ON and apple logo blinks
I was fascinated about the Ipod during my college days and bought one when I went to U.S. in February,2014. It is 7th Gen grey Ipod nano. Earlier this month, the Ipod started to behave strange. It is not even turning ON even though I feed the charge. I searched for the solutions online and tried to reset as suggested by many mates. It is not even resetting, but an apple logo starts blinking when I try to do that. I took it to the apple store(service) this monday and today I got a call saying that it cannot be replaced as it was a physical error (Screen Popped out minutely),which never happened. I was so surprised. I swear, I didn't even handled it hard. Screen is even at all the surfaces.
Apple cannot replace it but can give an exchange offer for 7.5k INR. On an Ipod which hardly works for couple of months, why will I invest 7.5K ? I dont want any Ipod. I will leave it in the store itself for their reasons/research.

i had this problem, i changed the battery and bang, worked perfectly again......apple said it was a logic board failure...

See http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281. I had the same problem, but solved it by holding down the home button and the on/off button for 10 seconds. If you are lucky, that will work for you as well!

IPod won't turn on. Apple logo flashes, charged for 6+ hours
My iPod touch won't turn on at all. When I plug the charger into a wall, the apple logo just flashes on and off. When I hold the home and power button for a reset, a picture with the itunes symbol and charger comes up and thats it, it doesn't go past that and if I release the two buttons, it just goes back to flashing the logo. When I connect to the computer, it won't even charge and my computer won't detect the iPod. It's def not a dead battery considering so many people are having this issue. How do I fix it?
See what you missed here. It is not looking promising.
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod doesn't turn off and volume doesn't work
My Ipod touch is 2 months old--all of sudden it wont' turn off and the volume doesn't respond.
I have charged it, synched it and done a restore--nothing fixes.
It sometimes will allow me to turn the volume off (once a day) but then most of the time doesn't respond
I can't click "home" and "off" at the same time b/c all that does is turn the voice recognition on.
Any ideas?Hi,
Try placing your iPod in Recovery Mode and restoring it to factory settings/defaults via iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808. Otherwise, make a reservation at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store.
Hope this helps!

If the screen remains on and you can't turn the iPod/screen off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the article again.
From the sympton an appointment at the Genious Bar of an Apple store might be in order. -

my ipod touch is stuck on the apple logo and after a while a white screen comes up and it restarts and the same thing all over agan. this happened to me before and after a while it turns on but why does it keep on doing this?
Try connecting the iPod Touch to your computer and restore it. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

earlier my itunes told me that my files were corrupted and I needed to restore, so I did. In the middle of the restore I lost internet connection. Now my computer and Itunes will not recognize my Ipod and if it is not plugged in when I turn the Ipod on it only shows the apple logo then shuts off after 30 seconds. If it is plugged in it will charge, but Itunes and Windows will not recognize it. I have tried the menu + select shutoff multiple times with no change. All it will say while it is charging is do not disconnect.
The clicking sound is your iPod Hardisk, trying to retract and find the boot sector unsuccesfully.
Hopefully, you can do the iPod Disk Diagnostic as in this great post by tt2., it wont fix your problem, but let you know, how dire is your Hardisk health.
So only as a last resort, one way, to get the stuck Hardisk head free, is to bang the iPod on a rubber mouse pad, when you reset it, but do it at your own risk, some very lucky guys got it working again for the next 14 months, like myself. -
I don't have working home button, but when i try to charge my iPod 4th gen it shows an apple logo that turns on and off and it wont let me turn on my iPod! How do i fix that?

Can someone please help with my issue listed - My ipod 4G wont go past the apple logo when I turn it on - it will stay on the apple logo for few min, then blanks out and back to the apple logo. Tried reset option/troubleshoot several times. Also wont show up on computer at all when I plug in to USB.
Any tips are very much appreciated.Place the iPod Touch into DFU mode. This will be similar to what the factory would do to install the iOS onto new iOS devices.
Placing it into DFU mode will allow you to "format" and install the current iOS for that device.
To place your iOS device into DFU mode.
First connect you iOS device to you computer.
Open iTunes if not already open
Now turn off your iOS device using the power swipe.
Press the home and sleep button on your iOS device for 10 seconds.
Release the sleep button but carry on holding down the home button. For another 10 seconds.
Your iOS device should now be on DFU. Click on restore and iTunes will download the latest iOS for your device.
Hopefully that sorts it if not, you will have to go to a service centre or call Apple Care up and get them to collect it and repair it. (replace it) Or go into an Apple Store. -
My IPOD TOUCH is frozen with the Apple logo sitting there on the screen. Hi, I have a 2nd Geration iPod touch. The ipod will NOT go past the apple logo when turning on. After about three minutes of waiting the screen will go blank. So, I push the sleep/wake button and the low battery symbol appears, indicating that the ipod is being charged. After about three minutes the ipod goes to sleep. Wake up and the red battery shows up again but this time the apple logo appears after about three minutes and stays on for 5 minutes before going to sleep again. When you wake it up it is on the red battery again. and the process repeats. The battery symbol never increases from the low mark.(no matter how long I charge it.) It also gets a little bit hot after a while. The ipod will NOT show up in iTunes either. Please help thank you.

Install or Reinstall Mavericks or Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
OS X Mavericks- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Erase and reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Erase and reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
