1.keep it in the usb port for a few min to see if it has battery power.
2.try reinstalling the ipod software.
3.the battery might be no more good.

  • Ipod doesnt do anything

    my ipod wont turn on, it wont turn on when you plug it in to charge it, and it wont turn on when i plug it into my computer it doesnt do anything. anyone have any suggestions how what to do?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Does your iPod respond if you try to reset it?
    Resetting your iPod
    This may be an issue with your iPod's hard drive being bad, though. You may need to get it replaced.
    Have you seen this Apple Support article about it?
    iPod won't turn on
    Have you tried restoring your iPod yet? I know you can't do it now (since it won't respond when connected), but have you tried the other Five R's, so you can try a restore on your iPod?

  • IPod will not update when plugged into computer?

    Just recently my iPod with not update when I plug it into my computer. My iPod does not show up on my Mac or my iTunes. When I plug it in the screen shows the do not disconnect sign. I have tried to reset my iPod and checked for new updates, but they haven't worked. If anyone knows what to do that would be great.
    Thanks

    Yes. Since I installed the new system software (10.4.6) update Sunday night, I cannot update any of my iPods except the iPod video. The iPods also do not show up on my desktop. The battery charges but that's all that happens.

  • Part of my menu doesnt do anything when clicked.

    Im updating my menus in Dreamweaver and all of the links in my menu show a hover action when hovering over them. But some do not do anything when clicking them. My code looks like this
    <div id="banner2" ></div>
      <div id="homebutton"><a onfocus="blur()"   href="http://www.wiremirage.com"
    title="home"></a></div>
      <div id="portfoliobutton"><a onfocus="blur()"

      <div id="i32bottomleftbg" ></div>
    Theres more than that, but that is the menu when I select it in DW. My portfolio button doesnt go anywhere when I click on it. Can anyone help?

    Hmm, without seeing the css, it's hard to say, but as it stands right now, your <a> tags have no content.
    If your css is creating hover states for each <div> the hover state for those would work just fine. It may be that the empty <a> tags are collapsing to zero height, giving you nothing to technically click on though.
    Also, rather than using the onfocus state in all of your individual links (a bit tedious) I'm guessing to get rid of the outline in IE, you can use a little snippet of css instead...
    a {
    outline:none;
    Though neither are very nice things to do to your visitors that rely on the outline to show which link they are on as they tab through your site without using a mouse (either by choice or disability).

  • My ipod is absolutely dead when plugged into usb connection or when trying to switch on with on/off button

    Ipod is dead when plugged into usb port or when using on/off switch
    absolutely no display

    Press and hold the power on button and the circle button on the front for about 10-15 seconds - If nothing try to plug in to the usb at the rear of the PC for more power and then try again.
    It will work.

  • IPod will not update when plugged in iTunes.

    My iPod when plugged into iTunes, it says updating but after about 3 seconds it says that it couldn't update because the Compaq_Owner's Playlist had been deleted or no longer exist. I am not really sure what to do. My iPod is completely empty. If anyone could help me out i'd be greatly appreciative. I really need it before Wednesday of next week because I have a ten hours drive and we all know how radid stations can be.

  • Ipod Nano Not responding when plugged in to charge

    I just got my new Ipod nano 4 eddition about 8 days ago. And I was listening to it for about 20 minutes today. I turned it off and when I turned it on again about 1 hour later it was completely dead. It wouldnt turn on.
    Then I tried to plug it in to charge and it wasent showing up on Itunes at all. Now this keeps popping up:
    The apple sign (The one when you reset)
    Then the main menu
    "CONNECT TO POWER" then.
    HELP

    I've had mine for 3 months and it started doing this. I unplugged it when the battery had run down when plugged into my car adapter. I went to plug it into my computer and the screen didn't come on when I plugged it in. My iTunes then proceeded to crash. I restarted my computer and it did the same thing. My computer does recognize the IPod as plugged in sometimes though and shows it as a removable drive but I can't access it and iTunes doesn't show it as being plugged in. I did get a message once that said it was formatted for mac or something but when I clicked ok to get iTunes to format it, iTunes never came up. Help please!

  • Ipod constantly resetting itself when plugged into Itunes.

    My new 5G 80gig Ipod constantly resets itself when I plug it into Itunes. Any ideas? The Ipod is new...

    Here's what I've done so far unsuccessfully:
    Placed it into disk mode, but it does the same thing. Once plugged into the computer the ipod is recognized by both windows and Itunes but it resets itself within 30 seconds. It constantly keeps resetting itself.
    Also, since it keeps resetting itself, and therefore disappears form itunes, I cannot reformat/hardreset it via Itunes....

  • IPod classic 160GB freezing when plugged in

    Hi,
    My new iPod classic started freezing when plugge in after the night, for example - it needs a restore, then works fine. Any ideas?
    Thank you for your help

    Yikes!, it may means it is the iPod Classic firmware 2.0.4, that is hanging up the USB Host controller, which freezes your whole Computer.
    Could be a partially updated firmware 2.0.4, (so kind of corrupted)
    Can you
    1. Open in finder <yourname>/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates/
    2. Remove the .ipsw and .ipsw.signature for the version you are wanting to drop, in this case, 2.0.4
    3. Open iTunes and in Preferences uncheck automatic check for updates.
    4. Connect iPod and select restore. It will ask you if you want to check for newer update. Select Yes. All files will be removed and it will have to resync the entire library but it worked.
    PS: try and do this in Diskmode.

    Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • TS1369 I have Windows 8, and my ipod doesn't do anything when plugged in. It doesn't even show it's charging. What can I do?

    I installed iTunes, installed the drivers for the shuffle, and synced once. Now, It doesn't charge. It doesn't make any noise when I plug the ipod into the usb and doesn't show anything in iTunes.

  • My ipod doesnt start on when off the charge and wont come on when i plug it into the computer, now it has the iTunes icon and says to plug it into that, but i cant cause it wont turn onto my computer. How do i get my pictures back?

    So, my ipod will not stay on, when I take it off the charger it just goes dead. I cannot plug it into the computer and have it go on; I guess it doesn't have enough power for the battery. But, just the other day, I unplugged my ipod (went dead) plugged it back into my kitchen and now it goes on but an ITunes icon pops up and says for it to be plugged into it, but like I said it doesn't work on the computer. So, now I lost all my pictures but I was wondering how I can get them back? Or get rid of the Itune icon to actually get back on my ipod?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
