Ipod doesnt want to work now

Hi,
I have had an IPOD shuffle for about 2 months now and it has worked perfectly fine on my pc. But last week my ipod just went dead. I was about to play some music when the lights on my ipod started flashing alternatly. When I got back home I plugged my IPOD into the same USB slot as I have been using for the past 2 months, XP and itunes cannot find the IPOD, I have reinstalled the drivers for the IPOD several times, I have also tryed every USB slot on my pc, and i have taken out any other USB connections that have been recently added since I have had my IPOD.
Please can someone help me!!

Many people, including myself, are having the same problem and Apple doesn't seem to have a solution. I've spent 2 weeks trying different cures, but to no avail.

    Hello,
Your iPod's hard drive had probably gone bad. You may need to get your iPod inspected or its hard drive replaced by Apple.
Have you tried out all the suggestions contained in the links below?:

  • My ipod doesnt want to restore and has usb and itunes when turning on?

ipod touch doesnt want restore and has usb cord and itunes signs when u turn on help?

    - See the not-charging topic of:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Have you tried another cable?
    - Another charging source? Does iTunes see the iPod when you connect to your computer?
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.
    - Also, see the other topics of that article.
    - Restore the iPod.

  • My iPod Touch screen is unresponsive and doesnt want to work anymore.

i have an iPod Touch 3rd Gen. It has the 5.0.1. update! Right now when i touch to try and slide open it doesnt follow my finger and its really upsetting.
    Yes i have...
washed my hands to make sure no water or grease or anything is on it
wiped the screen with a dry cloth
RESTORED IT TI FACTORY SETTINGS, BASICALLY MAKING IT A NEW iPod
and still NOTHING! It just sits there and not even let me use it.
And when i press the home and power button for a reboot it then tells me to plug it into iTunes and when i do it acts fine but 30 minutes later IT DOES IT AGAIN!!!!!!!
    Help, PLEASE?????

When restoring to factory defaults/new iPod does not solve the problem it is likely due to a hardware problem. Then an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod just doesnt want to work on my pc

So I just fixed my ipod, by replacing the broken hard drive. The ipod itself was out of warranty so I figured I take a crack at it. Anyways the transplant was successful and I got it up and and running. The problem is I cant get my pc to recognize it and I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING ON the apple help page. So I thought there was something else wrong with my ipod so before giving up I took it over my friends house and hook it up over there and instantly it poped up and let me format it and update it and let me name it with itunes. So I thought yay! I fixed it. So I got home later that night and plug it in my pc and it took like 5 min for itunes to open up, but finally I started transeferring music from itunes to it. It was taking really long so I decided to go to sleep and get to it in the morning. But when I woke up the ipod was turned off and wouldnt respond to me pushing any of the buttons so I tried unplugging and plugging the cord in and it popped up with this battery symbol that doesnt do anything but sit on the screen. Its a giant battery with a lighting bolt on it and it doesnt appear to be moving. It does this with all my pcs and at my friends house it actually moved and charged up. I don't know what to do is it just to dead to revive with the usb cord or is my pc messing something up? I run windows xp and so does my friend. Any Ideas?

Sorry to hear you are still having problems.
The only other thing other than what you mentioned would be some power saving setting in BIOS(BasicInputOutputSystem)
that is interferring with iTunes. If you try going into the BIOS, you should be very careful in there. Your power supply might not be powerful enough on your computer, so I'd check that first. If you don't know about BIOS,(perfectly normal-I consider myself somewhat of a nerd) I suggest getting the help of some "computer expert" to do it. Yet of course, it is your choice, and(after getting the approval of your parent(s) if you are a minor and/or the owner of the computer if you do not own it) You could always do some research on the web and try to do it yourself. Be careful and good luck!

  • My ipod doesnt want to turn on completely and even if i plug it into itunes it wont turn on. i was wondering if there is a way i can get all my photos back from my ipod ?

in the beginning my ipod was working fine and then came to a point that i can only use it while it is connected to a charger. my brother went to go fix it so then everything was working fine. & a month or two later the apps on my ipod would stop working . i would open it but then they would just shut back down. & i told my brother about it and he said all i had to do was reset the ipod. so he did that and the apps where working fine. then 10 minutes later i pressed one of the apps and the ipod turned white and shut off. now all it does it shoes the apple then it goes white and turns off again. i really want to get my pictures back because they are important.

Connect the iPod to your computer and let it charge for a couple of hours. The try to backup the iPod

    Then
    Photos
    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore an iPod, iPhone or iPad from that backup. See the restore topic of:

    - If they are in the iTunes backup then get them from the backup by:
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
    or
iPhone Backup Extractor for Windows and Mac
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
To try to make your iPod work see the following. It may end up erasing the iPod:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod doesnt want to reset or charge

Omg im going crazy. Okay my boyfriend got my ipod wet last week or so. I tried resetting it and the apple logo shows but then after the little ipod with the sad face shows. When I toggle the hold buttom and then try to reset it, it then shows the battery meaning it needs to be charged but when I try to charge it, it doesnt charge. What should I do???

You should perform a restore on your ipod, that will take it back to factory settings and might fix some of the problems. If that doesn't work, post back and we can help you more. It could very well be that the batter got wet and now it won't hold a charge. If this is the case, then you should see if your warrenty covers accedents like that, if it does, take it back to the apple store and show them what is wrong with it, if not, then you might have to replace the ipod battery.

  • My ipod doesnt want to play games

when i press a game i looks like its about to turn on  but it doesnt

I just had the same problem!!! Have you tried reseting your iPod? I just tried it and it worked Here's what to do:
    1) switch the hold button (located on top) on and off a couple times
    2) Hold the "MENU" button and the center button (or select button) for about 6 to 10 seconds. The Apple Logo should appear on the screen.
If it doesn't work , try following the 5 r's (located on the support page). Good Luck

  • IPod Touch won't work now

So I just downloaded the iPod Touch 3.1 software, and it's not loading onto my iPod. I've restarted my iPod dozens of times, I've even restored it twice. But all I keep getting when my iPod turns back on it is the apple and a little load bar that loads half-way then freezes. Has any one else had this problem & want to tell what I should do?

How long do you leave it before you decide it's frozen and not responding? 3.1 is a major update and it may appear to be doing nothing even though it is working.
I can't remember how long my update took to apply, and I'm on a PC so times may be very different. But fifteen minutes or so is probably not unusual. Leave it alone and make a cup of tea!

  • Updated software failed...iPod touch won't work now

I hooked my ipod touch to the computer & through itunes updated to the latest version. The update failed. Left it overnight & update still not done. Checked apple website. Said to restart computer. Now ipod when turned on has the itunes symbol with the usb plug picture. Started itunes & it said update failed you need to restore your ipod. How can I avoid this? It will erase everything on there. What about the apps I paid for?

If you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased them, you can redownload apps at no additional cost.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519
The fist part of the update process is for iTunes to make a backup of your iPod. If that was successful (look at date in iTunes preferences in Devices) then restoring from your backup together with syncing should restore you iPod to like it was when it was backed up.

  • Adobe Camera Raw program doesnt want to work.

I have used Camera raw previously and now that I have to use it via the internet and pay a subscription it wont enable?
I bought the CS6 program last year and used it fine, then I needed Premiere pro for my studies so hence having to get the whole package and being charged a monthly fee.
My RAW comes up with a message that sais "Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature."
Any help would be awesome as I cant do anything now. Grrrr

That error message usually means you need to launch Photoshop at least once and open a raw file in ACR through Photoshop.
Due to the current unavailability of clairvoyants and mind-readers in the forum, we respectfully request you supply sensible, complete details.
A lot more information about your hardware and software is needed.
