Ipod fell down and now not recognisable

My ipod fell down and now when I connect to my computer it doesnt show up in itunes or in "My Computer" as well. But it is asking me to reformat the ipod.
How do I get around this? If I reformat I guess I will lose all the songs in there and I dont even have back up of those songs (almost 15GB of songs)

Does the iPod itself turn on and work? Did you try resetting it?

  • My iphone 4s fell down and now it won't open

Hello! So, my iPhone 4s fell down and now it won't open. I've tried to turn it on by holding simultaneously the home and lock button but nothing happens. I've plugged it in to its charger but all it does is vibrating constantly. Any suggestions?

    Could be hardware damage.

  • Ipad 2 stuck on preparing to update and now not recognised in itunes

Firstly my ipad had some songs with lighter colour, if i played that song i would skip to next song. After that when i add songs, video, pdf to my ipad it would stuck on preparing to update. Though i could add files in the app's folder. Now itunes is not recognising the ipad when connected with usb, but shows up in itunes as wireless sync. It shows up in windows explorer. Same thing with my ipod shuffle 4. When i connect ipod shuffle, itunes says syncing ipod, ipod sync compeleted but i cant see the ipod under devices. I have compeletely reinstalled itunes as instructed in the apple's support page and restarted my laptop ( win x64).
I have checked the photo sync and deleted the videos as mentioned in the thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2769353?start=0&tstart=0
But no luck, please help me, i would try restoring my ipad but i don't want to lose the allofwiki dump file.
    Thanks

My iPad and iPhone are doing the same thing.  Must be the traffic.

  • IPad fell down and now screen is all black!

    Hello!
I'm using the iPad 2nd Generation and my daughter dropped it on the floor this morning.  The screen turned black.  I tried the hard reset (home + power off for 10 seconds) and it's still not working.  I plugged it into the usb port of my computer and iTunes is recognising the iPad but it's asking me for the passcode before letting access.  Thing is, I cannot see anything on the ipad.
Has anyone else had this issue?  Thank you in advance for your input.

The reboot, or reset as you tried, will sometimes bring the screen back but not always.  If holding both the power and home buttons does not result in the apple logo appearing in about a minute, the device needs to be taken to the Apple store genius bar to have the technicians test and see if there is a failure in the screen/digitizer.

  • IPod powered down and will not turn back on - what do I do now?

I just got my iPad for Christmas. It is my first Apple product. I have been on here a half an hour trying to get to Apple Support but the only thing I have found thus far is discussion forum. So thought it was worth a shot. I am presuming it is a malfunctioned unit but thought I would ask anyway if any of you have experienced this in the past. It happended the day after I upgraded to 4.2. Also the day after I loaded my first APP (Diabetes Buddy). This App makes you sign onto your PC first and then 'synch' it with your iPad. I was able to get thru all that and was able to add all the data to the app off on the iPad. Not sure if any of that had anything to do with it or not.

As for your problem, two possibilities and two approaches:
    A. Low battery - the iPad will quietly shut itself down once the battery get down to low levels, generally 5% and below. It will stay dark and stupid unless and until you connect it to a charger and let it charge for a while. If this was the problem, you will see and hear it come back to life. Let it charge for a while, say to 80% or so, before using.
    B. Unspecified system fault - this can drive the iPad to the same dark and silent state, but charging will not help or solve it. A Reset (also known as a hard reset) often will:

  • My iphone fell down and now the home button is not working well and the phone is making calls itself?

i already updated my phone and download he latest version of itunes. The Siri is turned off and the voice control appers alone and start makiing calls itself. please help me!!

It's pretty clear your Home button is becoming easily stuck in the active position, causing Siri to activate and, based on what it hears, make calls.
You need to hand the phone in and get it fixed.  Shouldn't cost you too much.  Try to find an Apple Authorised Repair Centre in the first instance.  Follow this link and choose your country to see if there's one nearby.

  • IPod Touch & iPhone 4 now not recognised on docking station.

My Panasonic docking station (had for several months and has been working just fine) has worked with all my Apple devices (nano, touch & iPhone) up until a few days ago, I now receive a message saying "not supported" and it won't work with any Apple device, any help greatly appreciated.

Bummer! Figured it was worth a shot to ask!
Maybe try cleaning the connector on the device carefully with a very soft, clean toothbrush, or by blowing compressed air on it. I have found that dock connectors are not as "solid" as the USB connector, so if there is some dust in there it might affect it.
If that doesn't work, then I would suggest taking it to the Apple Store to have them take a look at it?
    Cheers,

  • HT1414 new iphone 3, had trouble setting up, took about 5 hours and call to Texas, finally sorted by following morning. Now  after 5 weeks No Service suddenly appears and no closing down etc makes any difference. Connect to itunes and SIM not recognised!

what do you do when new iphone 3 will not accept SIM card which it has been doing since I bought it 6 weeks ago but now suddenly No Service and will not recognise SIM. Had this trouble on initial start up, took a 3 hour conversation with Apple USA to get it going. Can't connect to itunes because it won't recognise the SIM. Cannot remember what we did to get it going last time as it took so long and we did so many different things. Any suggestions other than put it in the bin!

First, though the phone is "new" to you, it really is a 5 year old piece of equipment.  Ancient by current standards.
Have you obtained a replacement SIM from your carrier?

Good afternoon, I would like some information I have an ipod nano 6th generation and has the same one-year warranty is only 2 months of use, and it fell down and broke the glass of the display, I called technical assistance in Brazil and informed me that Brazil has no repair services for Apple, which was the basis of its price change in the exchange is not worth half the value of the product.
I wonder how I do to change this device without the expense of 50% for the same product is in warranty?
    Thanks in advance.

yes agree, plus a multinational seeing a product and has no technical assistance to do the maintenance then it's no use I buy a new product if it is damaged I will always be because it has no prejudice in this maintenance.
sorry but even more products coming from China to Brazil in technical assistance.

The warranty is only valid in the country where you bought the phone. To get it serviced by Apple, you'll have to bring it back personally, Apple does not ship internationally.
If you can't bring it back to Apple in Canada, your only other chance is to search for a 3rd party repair shop. An Authorized Apple Service Provider in your country will not service the phone, sorry.
