Ipod fell into a puddle of water, now what?

Ok, I was getting out of the car and my ipod fell out of my pocket and onto a puddle of water. I picked out the ipod out of the water and I drained water out of the bottom and my screen had that foggy look. Has this happen to anyone and if so what did you do? Should I leave it alone for it to dry out and then turn it on? Or should I go ahead and send it to Apple to have them fix it?
Thanks on any info.

Dropping your ipod in a puddle of water while getting out of the car is considered accidental damage and is not covered under either the ipods one year limited hardware warranty as well as the and extended warranty you have purchased (i.e applecare) if you send the ipod into apple they will do tests on it to determin weither are damage has been done to it. when they open the case if they see any water damage they will NOT fix it. example: i bought a motorolla razer had it two weeks and while i was in the kitchen cooking dinner my brother accidentally spilled orange juice on it while getting a drink. it ***** i know, but making sure you take care of your electronics is your own responsibility on apple's. try ipodresq.com i heard they were good.
good luck

To get out of disk mode do a iPod Hard Reset.
Toggle the Hold switch till you dont see the red mark.
Press Menu and Center buttons simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON then release the buttons

I thought I was supposed to clear out my iPad before I updated it. Now it's empty and stuck in the plug into iTunes icon.  Done--now what??

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
    1. Turn off iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, slide to turn off.
    2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune (make sure you have the newest version of iTune)
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

    Hi,
If you want to reset your iPod, try here:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430.  Also, if the screen shows the Connect to iTunes message, then simply connect your iPod to iTunes via a USB port on your computer!
    Hope this helps!

  • My iPod fell into the toilet!!

its a second generation, 8 gig ipod. it dosnt work at all so i put it into a bag of rice to suck all the water out. any tips? can it be repaired and if so for how much?

Change the rice daily for a week. Then:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
    If it does not work

  • IPod may have been exposed to water, now breaking.

Before, my iPod would begin to make large clicking noises, so I had to deliver it to Apple twice.
Since then, I took very good care of my iPod when dealing with it in most circumstances, but at a particular swim area, the iPod may have been exposed to some minor amounts of water, nothing submerged or anything.
I haven't used corrupt data or poor USB cables at all. Could the water exposure be the problem by any chance?

I doubt that apple team sends this kind of emails. At the best, they may ask you to change your password, but not to reaquest to provide one.

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

  • After I ran factory recovery manager I ran into Command screen .. Now what?-

after I ran factory recovery manager for my HP Compaq Presario CQ60 220us everything was moving right along and I must have blinked because now I'm looking at this black command prompt screen  with a cursor flashing waiting for me type write a command right???  ----- Well what do i write so I can finish this recovery so I can use my new Notebook .  Please help me out before wednesday I would be forever in your debt..  Thanx in advance.  Jennifer//// The  Black Box is Titled --{ -c:\\ -Administrator: x:\windows\system32\cmd.exe}--- Please help me with this problem so I can be done with this recovery and be on my marry way before wednesday.  I would be forever in your debt..  Thanx in advance.    Jennifer D.

    Hello @jdreller69 ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand your notebook has paused during a system recovery and is displaying a command prompt with a blinking cursor. There is nothing that should be typed in this command prompt as the recovery is nearly fully automated after starting.
Sometimes installers will open command prompt to automatically process commands to copy files to the hard drive, it's not uncommon to see them blinking open and closed during an install or uninstall.
Can you see if there is anything hiding behind the screen that may be waiting for some user input such as a next or confirm button?
If not and the screen has been open for an extended period (over 1 hour) I would suggest shutting down the notebook and attempting to boot it up normally. If the notebook does not boot, re-run the recovery.
Let me know if that works.

  • Just put in a fresh 2T Seagate HD into my mid-2007 iMac. now what?

the title says it. i went the DIY route and replace my crashed, original 320 GB disk with a Seagate Barracuda 2T hard drive. but i haven't found much on how to go about the inital start up and OS X instal. i think i have an idea, and that is that it's pretty straight forward, but i'd like to make sure before i proceed. thanks for any help!

Bring up Disk Utility (boot holding command and r keys down in recovery mode) and click partition, give the disk a name, how many partitions (most use 1, but you can have more), click options and ensure it's GUID format for Intel systems, click OK and partition. It's now ready for data.
If you're installing the operating system from scratch, you can do that through ML recovery. If you're restoring from a backup, boot to it (boot holding alt/option key and choose the backup to boot from).
