Ipod Flashing Screen

I am traveling across Europe and the IPod is one of my best friends until last night when I got back to the hotel and tried to turn it on and I was greeted with a screen whcih flashed different colours (in what I think is a random order). The Ipod wasn't connected to a power source or a computer so I wouldn't think that there would be any reason for it to fail like this.
I am still able to turn the backlight on and off - but it won't play any sounds at all.
Thanks for any help.
p.s. I have all of my Europe photos stored on my Ipod and I am really worried about losing all of them so if there is any option other than restoring the Ipod that would be preferable.

  • 1st gen iPod flashing screen

I have a 1st gen iPod.  When I went to connect to iTunes to sync and charge my iPod, iTunes does not recognize it and the iPod is flashing the apple logo.  Otherwise it does not power up at all.  It was used as recently as the night before with no issues other than needing to be charged.  Suddenly it appears to be dead.  Help!

Yes. The screen in one model/generation iPod are the same.

  • IPod Flashing Screen Of Death?

I've seen similar topics with this problem, but still no answer. ***? The issue is that my iPod was playing normally, doing everything jsut fine, then all of a sudden it shut off. Figuring that it had just run out of jucie, I plugged it into the wall and...nothing. Then I plugged into the computer...still nothing. Then I plugged it in and tried to do a rest...nothing. THEN it started just flashing white flashes once a second. When you unplug it, it stops, but it won't charge, won't turn on, won't be recognized by anything. What is up? All I need to know is what is wrong with it and I will fix it!

I am currently running XP and no matter WHERE I plug my iPod in, it won't work. All it does is flash the backlight on and off of the apple screen. It won't charge, and it won't be recognized by my computer. When I plug it in, it says that there is very low battery, even though it was flashing on the charger for a week...

  • Ipod touch screen went black and then started flashing. Then the turn off slide comes up.

Ipod touch screen went black and then started flashing. Then the turn off slide comes up. Restored multiple times and didn't work. Ipod works with Itunes fine (can put music and podcasts on the ipod), but can't take songs off of the ipod. Using windows xp and everything is up to date. Any ideas of how to fix it?

I didn't know that it was posted three times. My computer didn't say that it posted anything.
My ipod still syncs to itunes and I can put podcasts and music on my ipod, but I can't delete songs after I put them on the ipod. When I try to delete songs I try to delete it from the main music list on the ipod. It's also doing all the other stuff that I posted before. The screen will go black and then the power off slider thing shows up for a few seconds, then it'll show the unlock slider bar. Then goes black again. It will also do that when I have the ipod unocked and changing songs or playing a game. I've restored it to the factory default/new ipod and it still does the same thing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and then restored it again to the factory default and it's still doing the same exact thing. I checked and my computer is up to date.

  • IPod Touch purple flashing screen

Hi..I have a brand new Touch (8GB) that keeps falling into restore mode.
Have tried many times to restore and only managed to succeed once by setting up a new user account on my macbook, that worked for 10 minutes and had to restore again.
All I get now is a purple flashing screen.
    What is the iProblem?

Quite possibly a hardware issue with the new IPT. I'd take it back to the store you purchased it at.
    Hope this helps...

  • Flashing Screen - with new installation

I recently bought a new 60gb video ipod. My roommate had been using my computer, Windows XP, for his ipod, but is no longer needs to use my computer. I uninstalled his itunes and quicktime software from my computer so I could start clean with my new ipod. I install the software that came with my new ipod with a complete installation I plugged in my ipod. Itunes appears to detect my ipod but I have been watching “Do not disconnect” flash on my ipod screen for an hour. I have tried resetting both my ipod and computer multiple times, and have reinstalled the itunes software a few times as well. I tried updating the itunes software, but all my effort still leads me to the same flashing screen once itunes in operating. I can successfully eject my software using the itunes shortcut, but once the ipod is plugged back in I get the same flashing screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the same problem: flashing screen, however with one variation, Itunes does not detect the iPod. So I cannot change from manual to automatic because the Itunes says "no iPod detected". I have tried reinstalling the software, resetting the iPod, and the iPod updater will not see the iPod as well, so I cannot update the software on the iPod. This seems to be an extremely arcane system! Can anyone help me please? Windows seems to grab hold of the USB connection and mount it immediately as a hard drive interdicting the iPod software. Windows explorer sees the Ipod hard drive and I can even transfer files to it, but the ipod software does not see the files! So I'm in the woods on this one. Can anyone help me on this, please?

  • Flashing Screen

My Ipod wont turn off reset restore or do anything. All i see is a flashing light on the screen. My ipod is connected to my computer but it says no ipod connected in itunes and does not show that it is connected in "my computer". What do i do?

Have you tried the suggestions in this article? It may be simply dead on battery. Read here -> iPod won't turn on
If your iPod keeps flashing the Apple logo on the screen, then try seeing if these links help:
My iPod only shows the Apple logo, and won't start up

  • IPod flashes?

I'm sorry if this has been aswered already..but I couldn't find it anywhere.
I bought a 60 gb Video iPod yesterday and it worked fine yesterday. I got some songs and a video file on it.
Today, I put in a lot more songs, but when it was done...it started to do something weird.
The iPod's screen has an Apple Logo in the middle of the screen. It gets lit up and then it gets dim, hence it's flashing. It also makes sounds when it lights up and dims.
The iPod won't respond to anything- I tried menu and select and the screen goes blank, but only whilst the buttons are pressed (hold mode or letting it go just makes it go back to it's 'flashing' mode) Also the computer doesn't seem to detect it anymore...
Has anyone seen this before and what should I do?

    Hi nicholasfromdenhaag,
It sounds like you got at least part way through the update before it stopped going any further.  Try the steps in this article for an update that didn't finish.

  • IPhone 5 flashing screen

iPhone 5 flashing screen between Apple logo and other colours.  Any advice to attempt to save the phone?
Update did not work, will try restore next but hoping to save stuff as iCloud hasn't updated for awhile.

    Howdy jr02yc,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Take a look at the article linked below, it provides troubleshooting suggestions steps that can help you resolve the issue with your iPhone 5 not starting up past the Apple logo.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
    Take care,

  • Weird noises, flashing screen

I was listening to music on my 5G ipod when the battery died. The screen told me there wasnt any battery power left and to charge it. I turned it off and plugged it in to the AC Adaptor to charge it when it made some weird noises and the screen started flashing. Now its just black. I've tried resetting it but nothing happens. When i plugged it into the usb, it wasnt recognized by my computer. Any ideas?

i've tried all of that. The battery died yesterday. So i let it drain over night. When i try to reset it nothing happens. And the "charging" icon hasnt appeared since I plugged it into the usb.
One main concern is the flashing screen and the high pitched noise it made...that can't be normal.

  • Two beeps and flashing screen

My wife's 3rd generation nano stopped working while she was listening to a podcast for runners. There was no response.
I tried resetting it, pressing the middle button and the top for over ten seconds. No apple logo but I heard two faint beeps.
I tried holding the middle and the down button. Two beeps and the screen flashed repeatedly.
I hooked it up to iTunes and it was recognized. I tried restoring the software. I renamed the iPod just to see if the connection was really there. After I reset it I disconnected and repeated the first steps with the same results. I hooked it back up to iTunes and it recognized the iPod and the new name.
I checked for update. No glory.
I'm at the end of my knowledge, any ideas?

the same exact thing happened to me yesterday. I was running and a song would stop halfway through it. I kept pushing play again and it got to be every 10 seconds instead of every minute or so.
I finally let it stay paused and my screen never worked during that time. I went home and plugged it in the computer and it didnt recognize it and the screen stayed blank. I restored the ipod to default settings from the computer and during the whole time the screen never came back on, just beeping, not even a flashing screen.
I was able to add songs back on it from my computer but it still doesnt work or anything, connected or disconnected from the computer. I left it alone all night plugged into the computer and it still wont work at all. It just beeps. Ive tried the resettings and all. PLEASE HELP!!
    Thank you

  • How do i connect an ipod lcd screen to a zen visio

My zen vision m lcd screen recently cracked and after getting the full run around and reading up on the net, I bought a 2.5" lcd ipod replacement screen for $0 off of ebay. I really don't watch much movies so the quality doesn't really matter as long as I can see my music and audiobooks. So here is the problem:
They both have 32 pin connectors that attach to the 32 contact ribbon connector, but the ipod ribbon is about half the size of the zen's.
I would like to connect the new screen and have a couple of options.
. connect the ipod screen ribbon to the zen's ribbon, then connect to the player.
    2. somehow solder the ipod connector to the motherboard directly
    3. solder the ipod connector to the casing on the motherboard
    Problems:
. I don't even know if the connectors go to the same places, therefore don't know if it will work even if I do figure out how to do so.
    2. I have no idea how to go about soldering ribbon connectors because the wires are so close together.
    3. Any solder job that I could do would probably preclude me from putting everything back into the player.
If anybody has any ideas (other than buy a new one or pay the ridiculous $20 to fix it) your help is much appreciated and will probably help a whole mess of people.
    Thanks in advance.

  • My ipod touch screen is broken and whenever i press the lock screen button, the screen is white, what can i do to fix this?

so my ipod touch screen is broken, and whenver i try to unlock the ipod screen, all that i can see is the top right hand corner of my ipod, and the rest is all whited out. Also, the jack which support the headphones to stay in place, one of the balls in the jack is pushed in which causes the headphones and stereo jack to slip all the time. I also have a problem which is when i try to sync my ipod to itunes. Last time i did it(which was 4 years ago), i synced my ipod and i started out with 225 songs, after the syncing process was complete, i ended up with 119 songs. I'm afraid to resync my ipod or back up my ipod to a computer because i dont want to lose the wonderful collection of 589 songs i have now. I'd really appreciate it if i got some feedback. Thanks.
