Ipod formated w/ windows will not restore or update on mac

I did use my ipod with my pc until I got my mac. I transfered my iTunes with a flash drive and they all work fine on the mac now. I am running the latest iTunes update. BUT, when I plug in the iPod only music and podcast will sync. And only a few of my purchased music will sync most won't. But none of the music videos, movies, or games will. I get the same message, "Some items were not copied......iPod software is too old....." I have gone to pref and clicked on updates it says I am updated. I have done to apple and down loaded the latest ipod software. The update and resore buttons on iTunes do not respond when the iPod is plugged in. Still no luck. I like my mac so much better than my PC, but this is driving me nuts!! Help!!!
Thanks,
Ben

  • Ipod touch 4th generation will not restore

My ipod touch 4th generation will not restore. It begain with a random problem with the device. I tried to open a application but the application would blink a few times then would not open. This was so for ALL of the applications. I then powered of my device to try and reboot it. The Apple logo will apear for about 5 seconds but then the sreen will go black and the Apple logo will apear again. I tried to reboot several times and it did not work. I then connected my device to my computer but it would not appear in Itunes. The only way for the device to appear was for me to put it into DFU mode by holding down the home and power button for 10 seconds. My Itouch would have the connect to Itunes on it. It was then reconized by Itunes. Itunes message appeared telling me that i need to restore my Ipod. I tried restoring the Ipod, but after the update downloaded a error would appear while it was going through the restoration proccess.
My Ipod is under the one year warrenty and i also had purchased an extended two year warrenty for my Ipod. I do not know what i should do.

ok i will my friend has my ipod right now but If it doesn't still work ill get the error number tomorrow.

  • HT4623 iPhone 4 will not restore and update. (Error 26)

My iPhone 4 will not restore and update on iTunes. Error 26. I have tried everything. Removing battery. Removing motherboard. DFU/Recovery Mode. No luck. Could it be hardware issue?

I have also tried different PCs and cables. I have tried iTunes 10.6.3 and even latest version. My iPhone is currently stucked in DFU loop.

  • HT201406 My iPod touch is locked up. It will not restore from update mode. After holding the on/off button down the slide to powerer off does not appear.

My iPod is loched up. I downloaded a new update and now it will not restore.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod will not restore after update

I downloaded the new version to make app. to my ipod touch and I was told to restore my ipod to have the update. Now my Ipod will not restore and I have lost everything in Itunes also. What do I need to do?

I just did the install of 2.0.02 last and I had one dickens of a time restoring my library. Here is what happened to me. Right before doing the update it tells you that all of your music, videos etc.. will be removed from the Ipod Touch once the update is done installing. So I found a DVD and burned my library to it. Then I went ahead and did the install. It clean my Ipod Touch clean, but my iTunes library was still intact so I thought all will have to do is resync it but that didn't work. I tried and tried. I disconnected my external HD. Oh yeah by the way this is a new computer that I just bought and last night was the first time I used iTunes on it so I had to populate my library using iGadget.
Anyway, I realized that I didn't have manually manage my iTunes library unchecked I unchecked it and it began to sync the back up copy I had of my library. Did either of you back up your library before installing 2.02? Do you have a place where most of your music is stored outside of iTunes? You cannot have Manually manage library checked it won't restore if you do. Be aware though 96% of my cover art was gone with this restore. How annoying. I don't know if this is the information you were looking for but I hope I have been able to shed some light on the issue.

  • 5c in recovery mode will not restore or update - iTunes is current version - Completely lost and very frustrated :o(

My phone lately has been searching for service constantly, I would say that 80%of my day my phone is searching for service. There was a software update for I think 8.1.2, my phone didn't have enough storage, so I tried to do it through iTunes, when I did that, I got the connect to iTunes screen and couldn't get past it. So now I have put my phone into recovery mode and have run into nothing but issues. One iTunes will not let me update the software, secondly I can't restore it, I get a pop up saying something that my device isn't recognized. I'm completely lost and frustrated Need some suggestions...

    Hello sarmath,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that your iPhone is in recovery mode, and while trying to restore it in iTunes you are receiving an error message.  While certainly a frustrating experience, there is troubleshooting you can do to get your iPhone back up in running order.  Without a specific error message, the article below is where you can start.  If possible, please provide the exact error message you receive when trying to restore your iPhone so I can give you some more in depth help.

  • VI or executable window will not restore

I'm having a problem where after the VI (or its executable) has been minimized, it will sometimes not restore when you click on the Windows taskbar until several tries and moments later. Maximize or Alt-Tab don't work either. I'm using LV 8.5 and Windows XP. Any ideas?

    Hi Sima,
Is this a problem with a specific VI?  How much CPU time does the VI use when this problem occurs?  The user interface may not be very responsive if there are any long loops which don't yield the processor.

  • IPod Touch 5th Gen will not restore

I have a brand new IPod Touch 5th Gen and I Tunes will not let me restore.  Am in an endless state of Recovery Mode.  I have the latest version of ITunes installed and the IPod Touch worked perfectly for two weeks after I got it.  Now when I try turning it on, all I see is a black screen and USB cord leading to the ITunes symbol.  I checked in Diagnostics and it says no IPod is detected, yet my IPod shows below Devices in ITunes.  I have tried 20 or so suggestions to fix the problem and nothing works, including holding down Sleep button (turn on) and Home button for many minutes.  Is there any way I can get ITunes to recognize my new IPod in the proper way?  Restoring process in ITunes just does not work.  Thank you.     I believe this Touch has the iOS 6.0.1.

Try placing the iPod in DFU mode and then try restoring.

  • IPod with click wheel - will not restore

    Hi all,
I know I've got the dinosaur of the iPods, but hey. I have a 20g iPod with click wheel. Every time I load up iTunes with the iPod plugged into the PC, iTunes tells me that my iPod is in recovery mode and needs to be restored. (Not sure how that happened, but anyway.) So, I tell it to restore, then plug it into the external power supply as it tells me to do. However, when it is finished restoring, and I plug it back into the PC to reload the songs from iTunes, the cycle starts again. I have restarted my computer, done soft resets of my iPod, but it still won't update. Any help would be appreciated. Though the newer iPods are very pretty, I am quite happy with my old dinosaur, haha.

After a lot of searching and working on this, I found the problem - and it wasn't my previously theorized conspiracy to get us all to buy more from Apple.... It was quite simple actually.
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304508 I followed all of these directions including re-installing the dlls and the usb drivers, but I think the key was that I have multiple USB devices plugged into my computer. I unplugged all but my wireless keyboard. Then I used a different USB port for my iPod than I had tried before. It updated..... Yeah. I don't have to buy one of the new over priced fancy models!!!!

  • My iPod Touch (4th gen) will not restore what do I do?

Yesterday my iPod touch suddenly got a black screen and wouldnt turn on/off. I couldn't tell what it was doing. I plugged into my HP laptop and it showed that it was on and in recovery mode. I clicked on the restore and update option, and it updated the software, but now it is stuck with the apple logo and the loading bar on my ipod screen. The bar isn't showing that it is loading. I've left for 2 hrs and it never did anything. HELP!

  • My iPhone will not restore or update in iTunes.

I have tried everything to restore my iPhone and update it but it still will not work, I get the same error "the iphone could not be restored. the device isn't eligible for the requested build." I have tried this with 2 seperate iPhone 4's and the I get the same error. I am sure its nothing to do with the handsets and something to do with iTunes but any help on the matter would be much appreciated.

  • Ipod will not restore or update

My friend came over with her Nano and used it on my computer. When I plugged in my Ipod 80G classic into my computer, it said that it could no longer read the contents of the Ipod and to restore it. However, when I click "ok," it automatically disconnects my Ipod and I cannot get it to restore. I keep getting the message, "cannot read the ipod error 1436." It has erased all of my music off of the Ipod. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes, have updated the drivers, with no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • IPod Touch 1st Gen will not restore. Unknown Error (6)

So, i've been trying to restore my iPod for a good few hours now. Nothing seems to be working, and i've tried just about all the tips from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
Is there some other way to fix Unknown Error(6)? Im planning on taking it to the Apple store to see if they can work there restoration magic on it, but id still like to see if i can fix it at home first.
    Thanks.
Edit: Im not very good with this stuff, so you guys may already know this, but i can't do anything with my iPod at this point. It just gives me the USB ----> ITunes screen.
If it matters, my iPod froze after i tried to start an app(downloaded from App store. Ipod is not jailbroken). I restored it, no problem. But it was being VERY VERY slow and laggy, and this strange thing happened where it would reboot, show the apple logo, then go dark and show the logo as if it was starting up again, ect. Basicly, this is what happened the second time.
    1. Reboot, apple logo showing.
    2. Off for a quick second.
    3. Reboot, apple logo showing.
    4. Off for a quick second.
It just kept happening, and i had to reset it by holding the top and middle button. Now its in restore mode, and when i try to restore it i get Error (6).
