IPOD freezes after a certain time

After a certain time using the device, the touch display does not work anymore. The app is still running, but not reacting any more. After switching off the Ipod is working again for a certain time.
The device has been rebooted several times, restored via Itunes and also the firmware is up to date.
The device is one year old, 8GByte, enough memory available and the battery charged.
The problem started some weeks ago.
I started to remove some apps without success actually.
Apps that have a bigger size seem to increase the occurence of the problem
Using WiFi increase the occurence also.
Any ideas welcome!!!

Here finally the solution for my problem:
The hardware of the Ipod had a problem. The device had been replaced by a new one. As I bought the device in Germany, there is an extended warranty of 24 month. The retailer where I bought the device took it back and gave the complete money back including the shipment costs! So I ordered the now IPod Touch G4 and have now fun again.
The suggestion which already had been given was correct and helpful.
A comment about the retailer:
I bought the device via Amazon. There support even on a Sunday evening was just great. In one week (!!!) I sent the device (on Monday), got the result of the investigation and received the new device (on Friday).
The support I received here was just great!

IPod freezes after connecting to PC/iTunes

I think it's a common problem that iPods freeze after plugging in the USB cable. I don't know if it's working for others, but if i do a reset (hold menu plus select) on the iPod while it is plugged and iTunes is running it works. But i have to do this every time i plug it in... So much to years of software development...

Unfortunately, like it or not this how the latest version of iTunes sorts songs. Numbers now appear at the end of the listings.

Gain control freezes after a certain point (cannot get highlights to 100) with colorwheel mode

I just purchased Adobe CC, (Switching from FCP 7, did not want to upgrade to FCP X). Really loving SpeedGrade (was an Apple color user)
I am using a standard iMAC keyboard and magic mouse (iMAC 27")
In colorwheel mode: After setting the blacks to 0 with the offset wheel, I try to move the gain wheel to the right, to get my highlights to 100. Even when holding shift, I have to click and drag several times to move the pointer. I cannot move it in one motion. Even then, the pointer will literally stop or "freeze" at about the 3 o'clock position. In order to get my highlights to 100, I have to switch to the Editbox mode and scroll the numbers up manually. I cannont do it with the colorwheel mode.
Very frustrating. Any advice?

Thank you so much for your prompt response. After I posted my question, I looked online and found some users had the exact same issue and found the solution. It is in the way you move the mouse:
When clicking on the indicator for a color wheel, my impulse was to move the mouse in a downward circular motion, to mimic the round path of the wheel. This appears to not work and makes the indicator "freeze" after a certain point.
When clicking on the indicator and then moving the mouse laterally, directly to the left or right on a mouse pad (or desk), it moves the color wheel indicator all the way down to either end. When moving the mouse this way, it seems to work. I hope I’m explaining this clearly.
To answer your question, yes the issue was with the Offset and Gamma wheels as well. But since the particular adjustment for these was not as much, I didn't realize it. But the gain adjustment I was doing was more severe, which is why I thought it was just the gain wheel adjustment.
So it appears it was the way you move the mouse to adjust the color wheel - which should be left and right.
I really am enjoying Speedgrade much more than Color. I was a huge Color fan as well and very upset when Apple discontinued it. I am very happy I found SpeedGrade and look forward to learning it more in depth. My next challenge is to find out how to use the SG color wheel controls to mimic curve adjustments.

5G 60 Gig iPod freeze after fully charged...

My iPod freezes after a full charge. This usually happens after about 8 or more hours of leaving the power plug in, and occurs more often if the ear buds are plugged in. A simple reset wakes the iPod.

iPod freezes after updating to software version 1.2!!! After installing version 1.2 the "do not disconnect" screen took forever to disappear, so i just removed the cables and it still remained
like that, i restarted it manually, but now it's getting stuck when the apple logo appears...i reset it and when i finnally turns on, and i'm at the language tab, it freezes. can anyone help.!?

Apple just released firmware 1.2.1 for the ipod, you should try restoring your iPod again with that.

IDVD is closing after a certain time.

Hi, i made a movie with a sony Z1-HDV camera and made the montage in FCP. Than i export it with Quicktime 7.5. Than dropped it in iDVD. After a certain time iDVD just quits. With the below report.
Also when i just open iDVD and open an other iDVD project and do nothing iDVD just quits after a certain time. Read below report.

Yikes! You're on the very edge of a kernel panic if you haven't yet seen one. Something is amiss ....
Are you using any external FW or USB HD's / 3rd party devices while attempting to burn an iDvd?
If so, Restart your Mac without any 3rd party devices attached and try again. But first run apple's disc utilities to Repair Permissions. Assuming you have no less than 20GB's of available HD space on the boot volume and that all assets for iDvd are located on this same volume (your main HD and not on the external volume/s).
Post back with your results.

Do notes disappear after a certain time?

The earliest entry in the Notes app has disappeared. Do they get deleted after a certain time or if I have inadvertantly deleted it can i get it back from icloud somehow?

They never expire - at least from iCloud. I still have some five year old notes.

My Ipod freezes after every sync. I am forced to reboot it. Has anyone seen this? How do I fix it?

How old are you? If 1998 is the year you were born, it's entirely possible your parents have subscribed to a 'smart limits' service, which will disable your data connection, text messaging, etc. during hours they choose.

Ipod freezing after not using it for 2 days

my Ipod freezes after not using it for 2 days, should i go to the apple store and get a new 1, or is this normal. If i do go to the apple store, i would probably get a nano right since they dont sell mini's anymore

What do you mean it "freezes". After 36 hours of inactivity the mini will go into 'deep sleep' mode. When awoken from deep sleep, the iPod will appear to reset. Is this what yours is doing? If so, it's normal.
Also, Apple still has a stock of minis available for warranty claims, so you wouldn't get a nano.

after turning on my ipod any app i go into will freeze after a few min. and after a while it will turn off and restart by itself

Have you tried restoring the iPod from an older backup?
If that doesn't work try restoring it to factory settings.

(Possible) bug: iPod freezes after starting an audiobook

When I start an audiobook on my iPod, it freezes for +/- 33 seconds. This means that the screen is stuck and the buttons don't work. Is it me or is this a bug?
I've tested this with an .m4a file that I renamed to .m4b to be able to access it as an audiobook.

That's not really the problem. The thing is: I can use my iPod as I would use it normally, but when I open an audiobook, my iPod freezes temporarily (for +/- 33 seconds).
Interesting: when I connect my iPod with my computer during the time that my iPod is frozen, my computer doesn't respond until after the 33-second delay.

IPod freezes, after restore stops syncing halfway through

I have a 2-year old 20gb iPod that has worked fantastically for the last 2 years. About 2 weeks ago, its started freezing up at random times. I couldn't shut it off, skip songs, etc. I just had to wait 5 minutes or so for it to come back. I restored it on iTunes the other night, but during my reload of songs, it stopped halfway through. So, my iPod only has about 9gb on it. If I try to keep syncing it up, it eventually gives me an "unknown error occured" message and deletes everything on my iPod.

It is expected that when you connect an iPod that was synced to another computer/iTunes ibray, the iPod will be erased and its contents replaced with that in the iTunes library of the new computer. An iPod can only sync with one iTunes library.

IPOD Freeze after rating a song

I bought a new IPOD VIDEO 60G on 1 April (after my Ipod 4th generation's hard drive gave in 4 days after the warranty expired) and I already have problems ....as i can see a lot of people do
Have any of you come across this problem: I rate a song and the ipod freeze and do not want to go back to the "play" menu, it keeps playing songs in this RATING mode without wanting to UNFREEZe, bloody irritating and also worrying...
Any Quickfixes???
