IPOD freezes during play or turns off by itself or the music plays very slo

hey i had my ipod for almost 2 years now. its worked fine for awhile but recently, when i am playing my music it either
1) shuts off and turns itself back on
2) freezes and then the battery bar is reduced to nothing even after i charged it or
3) while playing music, its sounds really really slow, kind like when cassette tape is messed up or you are playing music really slow.
what should i do?

This just started happening to me today. I've had this iPod for about 7 months.
One thing I can think of, and it might not be much help, but I have not synced my iPod for a long time, since I rebuilt my system.
I have hesitated because I am afraid I might loss the contents of the iPod, so until I finish watching all my programs, I am hold tight.
Do you sync your iPod with your system frequently?

I am having trouble with my i pad it freezes and it turns off by itselfI and screen turns blue?

Start by rebooting the iPad by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears and it restart, ignoring the red slider if that appears.  See if that helps.

  • T420 turns off by itself in the presence of magnetic field

    Hi forum,
I am currently experiencing a problem where my T420 would turn off by itself when it is being used in an environment with the presence of magnetic field (something like a aluminium smelter). It only happens when the monitor is tilted at an angle other than 80~90 degrees. Could this problem have something to do with the lid sensor? Does anyone know where about the type of lid sensor a T420 has and the about location of it? Thanks in advance!!

    Thanks for the reply guys!
I have changed the settings (both the power settings and the windows settings) of the lid close events to "do nothing". It stops the laptop from going to sleep mode however doesnt stop the screen from turning itself off. I supposed it is designed to turn off the monitor anyway because designer probably thought there is no point to leave the screen on if the lid is closed. Anyway what we will try now is to connect an external monitor and see if it solves the problem. I will update my progress.

  • Storm 2 turns off by itself? The battery isnt the issue.

Its am older referbished phone, but i was told it would be just like new. It turns off for no reason with no warning at all. The battery isnt the issue, i already made sure of that. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I really need this phone to be reliable.

Does it turn off and stay off? If so, how are you able (what do you do) to turn it on again.
If it is rebooting on it's own....shuts down and boots up again....then there are several possibilities. It will be trial and error to solve. Start with easy. If you are using a microSD card, remove it and use the device for a while without. If it doesn't reboot, try a new card.
If the problem doesn't appear to be the card, start deleting apps one at a time and using the device for a while before deleting another. Start with the last app you installed and work backward. If after you have deleted an app the problem corrects, then that app may have been causing the reboot. You can reinstall the app and see if the problem returns, or do without. When you add the other apps you deleted, do it one at a time and use the device for a few hours before installing the next.
Next step if problem persists is a security wipe. Do a full backup before. Write down any essential phone numbers, passwords, etc. Go through the setup afterward but do not do a restore and don't install any apps. Use the device for a few hours or until you are confident the problem is either corrected or not corrected. If corrected, do a restore and add apps one at a time with a few hours use in between
Last step if all else has failed is a clean OS install. Or, you could jump straight to this right away. Again, test before you restore data or install apps. If the problem persists then it is likely a hardware problem.

  • Ipod mini 1.4 random turns off / resets itself

my last mini had battery issues and was thankfully replaced by the people at Apple with a brand new mini.
however, this brand new mini has issues. sometimes when i press the select, skip or play buttons, the unit will reset and i will see the Apple logo. this happens when i am using it normally and also when i have it docked in my car (using with iTrip). this is really frustrating!
i checked the calendar, alarm, etc. but none of these are set. sometimes i can play it with no problems at all, and then it will restart when i go to skip, play or pause a track. this should not be happening with a brand new unit!
please, if anyone can help, let me know. otherwise, do i have to shell out another 50 bucks to have this one sent back like my last one? grrrr!

Just got off the phone with apple, there seems a problem with the new firmware, after installing the new firmware on my iphone it then asked for the usb driver.
If you get this same problem you need to go into device manager update the driver for the iphone from the following location, c:/program files/common files/apple/drivers.
After this I put the Iphone in recovery mode and downloaded and installed the new 1.1.4 firmware.

  • Turn off landscape mode on the music player

    Hello,
Is there away to keep the music player on the iphone from switching to landscape mode? The slightest movement switches it to landscape mode and I can't see the progress bar. (important for my mp3s which are several hours).
I've been all over the settings, so i'm assuming I can't, but I'd thought I'd ask.
    Thanks!

Sorry, you can't disable landscape mode. You can send feedback to Apple here... http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Hi. try opening the lid over the fan. Take out the fan an take away all the dust in the cooling ribs. Also take of the lid on the fan and clean inside. Sounds like a overheating problem.

Very few apps run in the background.  Those that do should have a  way to stop them from within the app.

  • 8220 Flip turns off by itself

Hello. I recieved a Blackberry Pearl Flip as a birthday gift a few weeks ago.
In the past few days it has been turning off by itself. The screen goes all white with the wait icon in the middle and then It turns off by itself and turns back on, and then it takes a minute or two to load back up..then a couple minutes later it repeats the whole process over again. The external light flashes red a few times each time the phone turns off on its own.
The battery life is very short as well. Sometimes it does not even last 24 hours. I have not downloaded anything onto the phone, nor have i dropped it or changed any of the settings.
I would return the phone if I could, however I do not have the reciept and am currently overseas. If someone could please assist me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

    Check device free internal memory.
You can check it in Options - Status (look at "File free" field).
Transfer all your music, pictures and other media files from internal memory to micro-sd card.
When device is ON remove the battery, wait a minute and turn the battery back.
And check these links below. There is information - how to optimize memory on your BB device.

  • IPod classic 80gig won't turn off

My iPod classic 80 gig (2007) won't turn off. It seems to me the whole Play/Pause switch is non-functional. How to fix? Everything else seems all right.
Also, when I do 'reset', and get the apple logo, is that signifying 'turned off'? (I've just bought the iPod 2nd hand, so am not familiar with it.)
    Replies appreciated.

    For what it's worth:
My iPod Photo (60G, purchased June 2005) wouldn't turn off either. I nearly always play the iPod docked to a Bose SoundDock external speaker. Yesterday, I lifted it off the speaker dock without turning it off first to take it on a trip. Discovered it wouldn't turn off by holding down pause/play, even for a full minute. No choice but to let it drain until the next day. Back home, I placed it in the dock, let it charge for about 15 minutes, turned it on (it turned on OK), turned it off *while still docked* (it turned off OK), took it out of the dock, turned it on out of the dock (OK), turned it off out of the dock (OK).
Not sure what, if anything, this means.

  • My 5Th Gen iPod (video) never hibernates nor turns off, not even manually.

I have a 5th Gen 30GB iPod (video) (2006-May). Last one year I used it without any trouble.
Very recently it started behaving wired. First I noticed this, when I found the battery gets drained out overnight everyday. Then I figured out that my iPod is not hibernating as it used to do, when not used for long. Then I tried to turn it off manually. I pressed and hold the play/pause button for more than 2 min, couple of times (as described in manual to turn off) with no results. I am using latest software both for iPod and iTune, also tried resetting it, wiping out all music and video, but no change in its behavior. My iPod simply refuses to shut down or turn off or hibernate; only when battery gets excused the screen gets blank after draining out all the battery. Apart form that everything works fine, it pays all music and video without any problem after a recharge, of course the charge does not exist more than couple of hours.
Please help if anyone know the reason and/or fix for this problem.

How to reformat specifically to Windows FAT32? I get only one button "Restore" in the iTunes summery tab when I connect the iPod. After clicking the button it gives me a yes/no option. On yes it goes ahead with the restore operation with progress bar etc.
The problem is, in the connected mode it behaves correctly and turns off momentarily by pressing and holding play/pause button, but comes back with the charging/charged logo. Which is normal. Now at this point if I disconnect, the screen gets white for some time and then turns off.
But when not connected through the USP port (i.e. with the battery only mode) it refuses to turn off, even if I press and hold the play/pause button, also does not hibernate as it used to do previously.
