Ipod Freezes must reset each time to mount

HI, 8GB nano. Recently, every time I connect my nano it does not mount in itunes and it freezes. I can unplug it, hit the reset (center and menu), and replug it in and it will mount and sync fine. Next time though, same thing will happen. Even seconds after a sync. This is new problem and I can't fix it. Any ideas? My other 1st gen ipod mounts fine. Thanks

I have the same problem, also starting immediately after upgrading to itunes 8.
Oddly enough, I had the same issue before, and it turned out to be due to the fact that I was using my boyfriend's iphone USB cable (since it doesn't have the annoying little buttons you have to push in to remove it from the ipod, which require pulling out the earbuds every time I sync, talk about a design flaw!). When I switched back to the nano USB cable, everything was fine for a few months, until I stupidly decided to install itunes 8, and now it freezes every single time I plug it in. I reset the ipod (leaving it plugged in), and when it turns back on, I get a message telling me that an unknown USB device is attached to my computer. I pull the USB cable, plug it back in, and then it syncs normally. I've tried restoring the ipod and reinstalling itunes, neither worked. It is still under warranty, so I may try to get it replaced, but the nearest Apple store is hours away and I've been hoping a software update might help. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

I have a new Curve 9360, downloaded google sync, voice, and maps, but not much more. After about 2 hrs or so, all applications including Blackberry ID, google sync, voice, and maps stop updating. When I go to Blackberry ID Account, it gives error "Unable to retrieve your Blackberry ID account information." But after a hard or soft reset all applications work for about 2 hrs. I have already performed a "Factory Reset" with the Blackberry Desktop Software.

Also the os that's installed is the 1st os 7 released if I'm not mistaken and buggy best to update to latest os.
Once update is do not install all 3rd party applications immediatley some maybe incompatible with os 7. Install 1 at a time and test phones response for a few days.

IPod 60GB resets each time it turns on?

Is it normal for a 60GB iPod to reset...so the apple logo shows up...each time the ipod is turned on? It's never happened to me before and its annoying. Also, how loud is the ipod's HDD supposed to be, I find that when I tip my ipod from side to side, I hear a faint screeching noise.

After 14 hours of inactivity, the iPod goes into hibernation mode. After this, it will appear to reset when started again.

Passcode must be reset each time return to main menu button is pressed

I am an IT help desk professional and have come across an issue with the Iphone 4. One of our employees recently purchased one and I installed Exchange on it so she could receive business emails. She had no passcode installed on the phone, but due to the sensitive content of our email, when the Exchange profile is installed it automatically forces it. Now, each time she presses the button at the bottom of the phone to get back to the main menu, it requires her to reset her password. We took the forced passcode out of her profile for now but need to find a solution so she can be passcode protected. Has anyone else see this occur??

Verizon ONT keeps turning off randomly. I must manually reset each time, help!

As the title states, the ONT will randomly turn off, and in order for me to restore TV and internet, I have to unplug the ONT from the wall, unplug the battery backup, plug the battery backup in again, then plug the ONT into the wall.
I have had THREE technicians out this week, each stating they fixed the problem. Alas, each time, a couple hours after they leave, the ONT shuts off again... it is driving me insane, and I am quickly losing my patience. Has anyone experienced this before? Anyone have any tips as to what I should tell the 4th tech to do in order to fix the problem?

Did you restore it as a new phone?
If so, and you're having this issue, best take it to an Apple store to be evaluated. They can test the battery to determine if it's gone bad.

Font sizing and Encoding information are reset each time

I am using iSql*plus against a UTF8 database to view multilingual text .. I found that I have to reset the encoding and the size information on the IE browser each time I execute a SELECT statement ...
For example I have select ename from emp ... Now change my encoding to UTF8 and Font size to Large ... Next amend the statement to select one more column say deptno, the sizing and encoding information is reset and I need to set them again .. Is this a known issue ?

We've managed to reproduce the problem in-house. It doesn't seem to occur in Navigator, but does in IE. I suspect it may be a problem with IE, but I'm not sure. I've logged a bug and it will be looked at.

IMovie freezing at Thumbnails each time

Everytime I open up IMovie, it gets stuck at Generating Thumbnails and never gets done. I've even left it alone for over 24 hours. Even if I close it out and restart the computer, as soon as IMovie starts it goes to generating thumbnails and gets stuck. What should I do?

jay, I think I've worked this out but it's taken me a while.
I had the same problem in that each time I've attempted to open iMovie I was met with the 'generating thumbnails' message, every time, and a freeze for up to two hours. Bloody annoying!! So after trial and error here's what I did and iMovie has now opened for the first time in three days.
1. opened movies/iMovie/iMovieevents and iMovieprojects and removed all films to the desktop - I had about eight folders. Leave the folders but no films in there.
2. I then opened my library folder and opened preferences folder
3. I removed all 'com.apple.imovie.plist' files to the desktop - this didn't make much difference but do it anyway.
4. I then looked through the folder for missed files and found a something called 'com.apple.iMovieApp.p.list.lockfile' and removed it to the desktop.
5. launched iMovie and it worked immediately! Voila!
I've spent a few hours editing and iMovie opening and closing no problem. I just checked that the films I removed to the desktop are all in the events library and they are and are working no problem.

Help! imac Intel duo core crashes/ model 6,1/10.4.11 must restart each time

The Imac crashes each time and I must restart it almost every hour! After restart I need to cool the machine otherwise I need to restart more then 5 times
before it starts running again. When I work with pictures there are horizontal stripes on the screen and see some delay in the finder screen. It looks like a video error.
My question is if this is a hardware problem or an OSX system problem? If I want to install Panther should this work in combination with this machine?

If you say cooling helps then that's likely a hardware problem. Maybe even something as simple as too many dust bunnies inside. You'd need to ask on the iMac forum on how to clean inside. Overheating can cause various problems, including video. I guess it could be software, but do you hear the fans racing? I don't know about iMacs but other models will automatically turn fans on at high speed to prevent overheating should the software controlling the fans not run.
Panther? On an Intel Mac? No way. You did mean OSX 10.3 didn't you? 10.6 is Snow Leopard and most people with your machine want to go that direction (or even to Lion 10.7).

[FlashPro CC & AIR] Icons are reset each time I change the target Air Platform

I have an annoying bug with my Flash CC : I'm building an Air app and each time I change the target platform (either Android or iOS or Windows) the <icon> tag is cleaned... so I have to set all the icons files again. Each and every time. All the icons.
Is it a known bug ? Is there a fix ? Is it a feature ? I tried to uninstall and clean all the cache, it does nothing. I have Flash CC on my work computer and on my laptop and the problem is on both computers...
I have the latest version of Flash CC and it's not linked to an Air version.

Random freeze ups. Must reboot each time.

Random full screen lock with no errors reported using the hardware test disc. Mouse can move on screen (arrow or beach ball) but no clicks or key presses of any kind cause a response. The clock freezes instantly as does video playback. Audio dies altogether (or starts looping) within a few seconds of freeze-up but not quite instantly like screen (except mouse cursor) does. The only way out is by holding power key for 3-4 seconds until MacBook Pro shuts off. Force quit popup box never comes with commandoptionesc. Even right now I'm holding my breath that I can post this before the next occurrence since it has become a daily event.
This just started about 30 days ago. Never had this happen in Tiger but probably unrelated. My thing is that I'm out of warranty by self-upgrading the internal hard drive awhile back. Hoping someone can help with a diagnosis. At first thought maybe it was time machine or boot camp causing the freeze ups, but I ruled them out. Although left and right fans almost always stay at 1k RPM, I'm now wondering if maybe there's a heat issue or video card (ATI) issue - but those are really just guesses. I've done a clean install and recovered only some files back from time machine. I've done a PMU reset and tried the factory ram only. Nothing seems to work, plus booting from the hardware test shows no hardware errors. Booting from leopard to run fix disk and permissions also did nothing. Keeping in mind that I've voided my warranty can anyone suggest next steps? I'm not great at understanding console messages but nothing seems to show in logs at exact time of freeze up that I can tell. For the record Software updates says I'm current including firmware stuff too. Never had an issue like this since OS 7 when multi-finder was introduced. This is making me nuts, so if you'll indulge me, here are my machine specs...

I think the fan defaults to 1,000 rpms. Only thing I've found that seems to help is keeping the fan speeds at about 3,000 rpms. No more freeze ups (except one) when I keep the fan speed up a bit.

I have had to reset my iPod Classic 160gb but each time I connect to my itunes it keeps saying it is in recovery and should be restored. When I restore it, it just tells me I need to restore it again. Can anyone help?

I have a Sonos system with an ipod dock and was experiencing problems when using my ipod. The people at Sonos suggested resetting my ipod, so I did. Now, unfortunatey, my ipod isn't working properly. When I connected it to my itunes it said that it was in recovery mode and should be restored. I restored it and a message said it would appear in my itunes. But it just keeps saying that it needs to be restored. I've tried removing my itunes software and reloading it again but nothing changed.

Ghostery settings not saved, but must be reset each time I open Firefox.

For several weeks now I am obliged to reset all of the Ghostery settings every time I open Firefox 33.1.1. The Ghostery webpage pops up along with my homepage and all of my prior settings have been removed. The folks at Ghostery tell me the problem is at the Firefox end. Can anyone help resolve this?

With the help of a friend I had tried that and Malwarebytes still did not detect the threat. At that point I bailed and got my computer wiped and all new software installed. I read a review on AVG antivirus that praised it for
its' sensitivity but cautioned against "false positives" for that reason. I am beginning to wonder if it was not a false positive since it only came up when opening Firefox, but not in the full AVG scan.
By the way I imported book marks from Firefox into Internet explorer which had never shown that warning and it began to show the warning on opening. It has me puzzled to say the least but thanks for your suggestions.

ICloud password not accepted, intermittent failure and must be reset each time

So, my wife is becoming manic depressant when she tries to use her phone, computer, whatever... on icloud. It will work fine for a week or two, then suddenly the password for the same account she has had no problem with for the last 4 years doesn't work any more. I then get called in to reset her password, re-sign in all of her devices, and she and I are happy once again. This has happened a ******** amount of times, (more than 10). I have went through the entire process of resetting all of the security questions... blah, blah... tech support... turn off, sign out all devices, blah blah... turn on, sign back in, on and on... update the computer, soft reset, hard reset, "upgrade" to the new stupid operating system that she really hates, blah blah, update the phone to an even worse OS,... on and on. Honest. I've tried everything. Everything is the latest model, and software version.
Does anyone out there actually know how to fix this intermittent problem? There is no solid pattern to the time intervals. It can happen within hours, or weeks of me resetting the password and signing in.

Whilst Apple IDs that end in either @mac.com or @me.com they registration pages do not tell you that if you are going to be using it as an AIM Screen Name the password has to be 16 characters otr less. (This is an AIM server limit)
At some point you will need to update the password.
