Ipod frozen on white screen

Last Friday my daughter started downloading the new OS update for her iPod touch. The download was interrupted, and her iPod has been frozen on a white screen ever since. We have tried the solution everyone has mentioned (rebooting by holding the two buttons down until the apple logo shows up) but nothing happens. We have run the battery completely down several times, recharged and tried again, but still no change. The iPod won't turn off, and when we plug it into the computer, the computer doesn't recognize that it has been plugged in. What can we do to fix this?

If that doesnt wok, call aplle suport and send it to them, if you're under warrenty, they'll fix it for free.

My ipod has stuck and frozen with a white screen when i go to start it up. It will not shut off and will not respond to any touch movements. When plugged in to the computer, I-Tunes does not recognize it. Please help!

I have had it two years and this is the first issue. My main concern is that the computer does not recognize it in order to reinitialize it. It wont shut off, it wornt do anything, I am just loking for a guide before I have to send it in for repair/replace... I am not feeling much good from the boards, but I am gonna be patient and see if someone stumbles across my please for help-- this cant be the first time someone has had and fixed this problem....

today i decided to downgrade my iPod touch 5th gen to ios 8.0.2 from ios 8.1 while i still could because it worked better on my iPod. i downloaded the ipsw file and started to downgrade it the regular thing happened on my iPod with the apple logo and the bar after that was done it did the same process again but it got stuck at 95% and i forcefully turned it off and on then a white screen appeared and it said swipe to upgrade and i did i put in my pass code then it showed a regular ios upgrade screen with the apple logo and bar being black instead of white and the background white instead of being black and again it got stuck at 95% i did the same thing turned it off and on and the same thing happened then i did it again and the exact same thing happened then i decided to just let it run out of power after about a half a hour later it was still stuck at 95% but my iPod was really warm so i powered it off and took it out of it's case and after a few minutes it cooled down but i haven't turned it on again what do i do? and iTunes does recognize my iPod tried restoring it while it was like this but iTunes told me to turn off find my iPod before i could restore but i can't turn off find my iPod because of my problem what do i do?

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Placing the iPod in recovery mode or DFU mode as described above should allow a restore
