IPod G5 isn't being recognized as a VIDEO iPod
I honestly can not figure out what to do... I feel like I have done everything.
I don't know how it started, but my iPod used to work just fine on my iMac - I could transfer videos perfectly.
Now I connect my iPod and it comes up with a different image on my desktop (not the g5 iPod image, probably the iPod mini) and iTunes won't allow me to transfer ANY videos to my iPod anymore.
I have restored my iPod, reinstalled iTunes, and updated my iPod... I've restarted my computer........ I've done all the R's you could come up with in the entire world... what else is there to do?
Anyone know what's going on?
If you installed an application by dragging it to the Applications folder, it will remain after the installation; if you used an installer for an application, reinstalling it may be necessary. Another possible solution is to try holding down the Command key while dragging the iPodDriver.kext item to your desktop, using Pacifist to extract that from your original installation disks, and rerunning the Mac OS X 10.46 combo updater.

My iPod touch isn't being recognized by my pc. The lock button on it won't work due to water damage, and a friend of mine fixed the problem by restoring it on his computer. How do I restore it without the lock button?

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

My ipod touch 5th generation is not being recognized by my computer under devices or in itunes; however, when I click on devices and printers it comes up under "unspecified" and is labeled as "Apple mobile device usb driver." I right clicked the icon and hit troubleshooter and it opened itunes and told me I should restore and update my ipod. I did this twice and nothing has changed, it is still not being recognized. This is a big problem because the only thing that will pop up on the screen of my ipod is the symbol for the usb plug with an arrow pointing to the itunes symbol (meaning plug into itunes I assume). I have tried restarting my ipod and restarting my computer and nothing is working. I have the most recent version of itunes. How do I fix this?

My ipod nano isn't being recognized by itunes. why not?
when i try to connect my ipod nano to my laptop it wont connect. itunes says it cant recognize it all of a sudden. can someone help me fix this issue?
After doing everthing recommended online unsuccessfully I tried this. Bear in mind this is with a 64 bit Windows 8.1 OS.
Here it is:
1.Control Panel
2.Programs
3. Uninstall or Change Programs
4. Uninstall iTunes
5. Uninstall Apple application support, mobile device support, software update (I even removed Bonjour and Quicktime).
6. Go to apple.com and download iTunes again from the beginning.
7. See if it works (hope it does)
You'll have to download Quicktime again, but no big deal. After I did this my laptop and iTunes finally recognize my nano and iPhone 3GS. In my control panel it appears that the other applications have also been restored (as you would expect). For those of you still stuck despite the recommendations online, I hope this helps you out.
Good luck!

I just bought a new ipod shuffle to relplace my old one. i thought i could just open my existing itunes account and plug in the new shuffle and it would prompt me to add the new ipod to this account. When I plug in the new ipod nothing happens at all. Nothing opens up to recognize the new ipod at all. I am up to date on itunes downloads and i restarted my computer. I have tried plugging in the new ipod several times to no avail. no acknowledgement at all. no devices at all. do i have to download itunes again each time i buy a new ipod?
Ok..just answered my own question..maybe this will help some of you with similar problems. Such an easy fix I feel like an idoit but glad it was easy...PLUG MUST BE PUSHED IN IPOD VERY SNUGGLY WITH NO SILVER SHOWING AT ALL!!

New iPod Nano isn't being recognized, with "Use iTunes to restore"
I got this new Nano yesterday and I took it out the box, tried it for a while, etc. I then installed iTunes 9 and after that everything was fine, so I plugged it in, hoping to sync it with my library and charge it. It did both for a while. Unfortunately, it was at this moment my PC decided lock up, and I had to use CAD to stop all the programs that were running, including iTunes, with the Nano still plugged in. Now the only functions of the Nano are to show the Apple logo for a bit, go to black and then show the "Use iTunes to restore" screen. I Googled and found that this means it needs to be formatted for Windows use. However, I plug it in and Windows refuses to recognize it, as does iTunes. However, it does connect when I press both the select and menu buttons (I tried to put it into disk mode, but this doesn't work) only to disconnect a few seconds later when iTunes tries to download the recovery software. Can anyone help? Nothing is working. Thanks.
I have also just installed my new Nano, had to upgrade to itunes V9, this worked eventually and then the nano locked up along with the PC. rebooted the PC, reset the Nano, all looked good until I tried to reconnect the Nano to the PC. it connected and then immediately disconnected and itunes gave an error saying that it couldn't read the ipod, try to reconnect.
