Ipod Games problem!

Hey there - i won this competition a while back, and got an itunes gift card. I bought lots of ipod games, and just recently - when i try and play them, it says error: This game cannot be played. Connect your Ipod to Itunes and reinstall the game. For more help, please contact: www.apple.com/support/ipod.
Now, i try with Itunes, and it says 'These games are not on itunes, would you like to transfer them now?' and when i do, it says 'Need to authorize this computer'. I do just that (authorizing), but it doesnt make any difference.
Any help?

Try Deauthorizing your computer first then authorize.

  • "iPod Games Library" file in Finder - technical aspects?

    Hi all,
After finally figuring out the workaround to purchasing games (Buy with 1-Click), I grabbed a couple tonight.
While adding the actual *.ipg files to my backup drive, I noticed that there is now a "iPod Games Library" file resident in the iTunes folder.
Does this file automatically get created upon adding a game to the Library?
Furthermore, if both the individual game files (.ipg) and this file are deleted, will iTunes recreate this?
No major trauma... just a thirst for knowledge.
    Thanks!
    Steve

I have been experiencing exactly the same problem. I have an extensive library and its getting tremendously frustrating.
I was wondering whether it was linked to the following:
I purchased one of the games - Texas Holdem' when I still owned a PC. I later upgraded to an Intel iMac. I transfered everything to the iMac and everything worked blissfully! A few months later I purchased Sudoku from the itunes store using the imac.
Everything worked just fine until recently when i now get the same message as Sue. Is it possible that the file purchased, downloaded and installed using a PC has somehow corrupted the files? Is there a fix?
Sue - if you have any insight or a solution please do share.
    Thanks

  • ITunes doesn't want to copy my iPod games

    Hello.
I have a 160GB Classic iPod and I bought some time ago two games, Sims Bowling and Sims Pool. Since then I think I changed my apple account email and changed from one pc to another.
It's been a long time since I synced the iPod and now I have Windows 7. I copied all folders and files from XP to win7 and everything was working fine with my music library.
Today I wanted to sync to the iPod a new album I just added to the library and got one message saying that this computer was not authorized to play downloaded music and I updated the email and the password and worked OK. But I got another message saying that the iPod games were not copied to the iPod because I am not authorized to do that. In fact the games were not copied.
How can I fix this problem? I did buy these games.
    Thanks for any help.

    Here's what I did.
I have the old XP partition as a dual boot with win7. I started the PC in XP and copied the itunes folder back to the XP partition from win7 (I deleted all user files from the XP partiion), then authorized again that "computer" and synced the iPod. The games were copied.
That is a workaround, not a solution. I need to sync the ipod fully in my win7 partition.
    How can I do that?

  • Click wheel ipod games

I just bought a new ipod classic to replace my old ipod 5g but I can't copy my ipod games. What do I need to do to play them in my new classic? My mac is authorized to my account  and while the games are in the iTunes library it won't copy them when I drag them and I can't re-download them as they are no longer available in the iTunes store.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

On Windows XP, yes I have to reset the driver after playing old games (pre-5G). I found no easier solution, I spent hours trying to find one Saturday.
Maybe the problem do not exist on Vista (I have Vista-64 Home Premium). The Nano 5G is recognized by Vista. I can use it as a Flash Disk (even with the problem XP also recognize the iPod, just not in iTunes). I have not installed iTunes on Vista-64 so I cannot say.
I prefer using my XP machine which is a netbook that I carry with me all the time.
If other peoples are getting the same error I would like to know if they are getting it after playing an old game or for some other reasons.
Currently I am not buying more games and will limit the use of the games that is causing me the problem. My iPod is mainly for music, FM radio and movies/TV shows. I am a gamer, so been able to play games was a plus when I decided to buy the 5G.

  • IPod Games - iTunes won't connect

I've tried bought a couple of the new iPod games from iTunes and I really want to check out the Cubis one, but since day one iTunes has refused to let me connect to it. Every time I click on it in the store I get this message:
"Could not complete the iTunes Store request. The store may be busy. Check your internet connection or try again later."
All the other games load up properly in the store.
Also: the text in the store under "iTunes Store" (on the left) seems to randomly switch to French on me. So instead of Music it says Musique and Games changes to Jeux iPod.
Where can I contact Apple to inform them of these glitches?

Contacted Apple, shortly after the problem had been fixed.

  • IPod Games Previews don't work!

I just installed iTunes 8.0 (35). I go to the iTunes store, select iPod Games, and click on a game to view the info. When I click on "Preview" to try to view a preview of the game, the screen changes, there's an area created at the middle at the top where the game preview is *supposed to* play, I do hear the audio, but instead of the video, I see an area of the previous screen showing through. I've restarted iTunes to no avail. Anyone have a clue? TIA.

Yes I have, with the same installation session as for iTunes 8.0.
And Quicktime works fine on its own -- I've tested it.
The problem is not related to iPod Games. I have the same preview problem when, for example, I click to Preview a song that is featured on the default Quicktime Player movie (the one promoting various Apple items) ... click on a song, the screen opens in iTunes store, click on Preview button, large area "opens up" at top middle and I can hear the music BUT all I see is what was in that area before I clicked preview.

  • IPod Games Questions

I purchased iPod games on my work Mac, Subsequently I had problems where the game refused to play on my iPod and asked me to resync. Unfortunately I was at home and the game is on my work Mac.
My question is: Is there a way to put this game on to my home Mac so if I need to re-sync at home I can?

Yes... you should be able to copy your purchased game files to another computer. Assuming I've read your message correctly you've restored your iPod and are now syncing with your iTunes library at home instead of work as previously. It should be possible to manually add the game while at work and then use Jeff's method from the previous post to recover the game to your home computer. If that is not possible there is another way...
iPod games are stored in the iPod Games subfolder of your iTunes folder (I'm working on a PC here but should hold true for Macs). Copy the ipg file for the game and any associated folder onto some form of transportable media - e.g. the iPod in disk access mode. When you get home drag the file (and optional folder) to the iPod Games subfolder, start iTunes. Drag & drop the ipg file onto the iPod Games section of the library. This should import the game. Open the game's information page in the libray. At this point iTunes should ask you to confirm your account details so that it can authorise your computer to access this game file. It should now be possible to sync the game to your iPod.

  • Anyone got ipod games working yet?

I downloaded the ipod game from the music stoe and it seemed to download correctly (reached 100%). It then failed to go any further simply saying something like processing file under the loading bar. Now although i have the ipod games tab enabled in my side menu it is empty. However, by searching for the file on my PC via
My Computer - My Music - Itunes etc I was able to locate it but it was not possible to move it into my itunes library or straight onto my ipod. The same problem occurred when i downloaded a song in the same order, however, when i located this file i as able to drag it into itunes and it worked. Can you explain why purchased files are failing to show in my library directy and also how can i get the game into my itunes.

    yes its in purchases
Okay, but is it still in menu Store - Check for purchases?
    This is different than Purchases.
If it is, this means it did not download all the way and there would still be a partial file on the computer which you could not do anything with.

  • IPod Games Library Errors

I am in desperate need of help. In the 1 month which I have owned my iPod, my music library has been deleted 4 times and I can not figure out the problem.
When the iTunes program is loading, I receive this message:The file "iPod Games Library.itl" does not appear to be a valid iTunes library file. iTunes has attempted to recover your iTunes library and rename this file to 'iTunes Library (Damaged).itl
I did purchase Texas Holdem and I originally thought that was the problem. I did delete the game and the problem happened again. So then I deleted the iTunes and all of its libraries, reloaded and started to put the music back on. It did it again.
Can someone point me in the right direction to correct this problem?

  • Ipod Games aren't available on iTunes!

I Pod Games, where are you?
Hi there, i've got a problem.
I'm serching for some ipod nano games. I have seen them on another ipod of a friend, but didn't found it on the Itunes store. I've got the newest version of Itunes and an ipod nano 5th gen. . The question is: Where are those F***ING ipod Games in the Store? I can't find them! Help me! Ipod Software Version: 1.0.2 PC

There are none *any longer.*  You may be able to find some in the wild.  Help yourself by doing a Google search for the 5th Gen iPod Nano w/video clickable games.  That's your best bet.
    GOOD LUCK!

    Unfortunately, no.

  • Ipod syncing problems...?

Im having several ipod syncing problems. I have an Ipod touch, 4th gen with the standard USB cable that comes with to charge it and sync it with. Today, i plugged it into my computer like normal to sync some new songs onto it from itunes. But, it started acting up. First, it kept syncing on and off, and the sync sound wouldnt stop- it wouldnt stay synced. then, later, when it finally did, not long after it said "this device does not support charging," and itunes didnt recognize my ipod anymore, so i couldnt sync my songs. is there any way i can fix this? thanks in advance.

    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • [iPod 5G] Problems with Windows' iTunes keeping it synced.

I've been struggling to get my iPod 5G working on my windows computer. This is what happens EVERY time:
    - I connect my iPod, it gives me "Cannot read the content of the iPod XXX...."
    - I Restore my iPod (have also formatted it completely several times).
    - the iPod shows up in iTunes and it syncs.
    - I take the iPod out and i reconnect and it starts all over again and i get: "Cannot read the content of the iPod..."
Connecting the iPod to my MacBook will make it appear in iTunes and I'll be able to see the music and update it.
Things i've tried (in semi-random order, except for the last one):
    - Updated the iPod (1.2.1)
    - Restored the iPod about 10x
    - Different USB port and different iPod connection cable
    - Erased the iPod (3x): using Windows' format tool 1x and the Disk Utility in OS X 2x.
    - Uninstalled iTunes, Reinstalled.
    - Fresh install of Windows XP.
Could this be an iPod related problem? (it seems to work fine on my Mac)
Could this be an iTunes 7 related problem?
The iPod is brand-new, i got it after my old one had gotten a white screen that wouldn't go away. Could it be a faulty iPod they gave me?
P.S. Please don't suggest to 'just sync it with your mac' because it should work with the Windows computer that holds all my music.

    hi chris
    the difference is:
at home i've started it and it has been running 12 hrs without touching it
outside i've used it while running through the park five times, so i started and stopped it five times without touching it otherwise (didn't change songs)
do these five times starting/stopping waste 8,5 hrs battery runtime?
