  • Ipod making noises

hello, my ipod makes weird noise when I recharge. What can I do. plz help me!!!

Is it the 'bli-dip' electronic noise? If it sounds electronic from the speaker, and not a hardware noise, then it's a noise signaling that the ipod's charging.

  • IPod Making Noises & Freezing

Hey i was wondering if anyone knows how to solve the iPod from making noises during songs and then pausing till it starts playing again. This only happens being played on iTunes, listen to it by itself its fine :S...im thinkin of reinstalling iTunes now...does anyone know any solutions or have heard of this problem before?
    Thanks

I had the same problem. I took it to the nearest service center and immediately the store owner told me the hard drive was not working properly. End of the story, I received a new Ipod, which is now giving me software problems.
    Hope it helped

  • Possible to fix bad clusters on iPod HD ?

    Hello Everyone,
I got a 3G 40 gb ipod ... i recently started having trouble with the ipod , it keeps freezing whenever i upload/download stuff to it .. but it plays mp3s fine !
i restored it a few times , but it wont fix the problem ... i tried formatting it from MsDos but the format gets stuck at 7% everytime and the iPod HD starts making noises (like its trying to spin but stuck).
today i tried to export songs to it from my Itunes library , it all went fine until it reached a certain song and it couldnt continue, the itunes just froze there !
So im suspecting that the iPod Harddisk could have bad clusters ... is there a way to fix it or atleast a program that will mark the bad clusters so they wont be accessible again ( like what scandisk used to do ) ?
    Cheers.

That Scosche cover will not prevent damage to the phone with 4 or 5 drops and the steam will definitely do damage and has triggered the moisture sensors which will affect your resale price.
There is no way for anyone to test the GPS chip as it is all a part of a single chip and would have to be replaced to fix it. That again would be a $199 out-of-warranty replacement. But I doubt the chip is your problem as everything would have failed including WiFi, cell voice, cell data, etc. I'm guessing the repeated drops have damaged the internal antenna. The GPS chip has to receive a constant signal from at least 3 satellites. The damage to yours is probably prohibiting or slowing this. The only way to fix it is to replace the phone. Again, $199.
Good luck with your S4 although you may want to wait until March for the S5. The Samsungs also use a single chip radio design so they also would not be able to perform a GPS analysis and they use a similar internal antenna and drops will damage it. Depending on where you buy it and if you buy insurance if you break the next one you will have to pay full price to replace it.

  • My newly transferred songs from my external hard drive to my ipod read as "Other" instead of "Audio" files

      Okay, i need help bad.
Here's the issue. This is my 2nd iPod classic. My first one, which worked beautifully for several years, died. the drive went bad. A sales associate at the Apple Store said it just crapped out (she didn't use those exact words) and my options were to send it out for a new 80G to replace the bad one at $120, or buy a new one, which yielded only one size and one choice for the classic ipod, the 160G. So i sucked it up and bought the 160G. I wanted the extra storage space anyway.
Came home, hooked it up, and new ipod required a newer version of itunes to mount and manage mp3's. it's not iTunes 10, required for sync with iPhone, but newer than what i currently had at hook up, which was some version of 8 or 9. it's now version 9.2.1, to be exact. After installation was complete, iPod mounted and worked with new version of iTunes just fine. Just recently, I connected my external hard drive to my laptop to transfer music i had backed up from my old classic and iTunes. The transfer seemed to work fine, but now with my pod still connected, the newly transfered audio mp3 files are not in my library. The are stored as "Other" under the iPod Summary tab, NOT AUDIO. so i cannot listen to those 14,000 or so songs and albums i just transfered. This is completely frustrating. Can anyone help?? Thanks. How do i convert these to Audio Mp3 files instead of "other" so i can listen and manage in my library, and so they show in the artists menu?? I have "Manually manage songs" checked in the Summary tab. I think it's storing or acting as an external hard drive. Someone help, i'm really ****** off right now. I spent a lot of time d*cking around transferring songs i can't even listen to or make playlists from now. Thanks a lot!

You maybe right, you transfer your 14k songs to your iPod under disk mode, so it don't appear as Audio.
To load your songs into Ipod Audio section, your must load them via iTunes, either Sync or Manually Manage your library, any other way, it just uses up space in the iPod Harddisk, and wont be on your iPod music menu.
    So
    1. Import your 14K songs into the iTunes library first. (read the iTunes help if you need instructions)
    2. You can either Manually manage selected songs from the library or Sync all.
You can delete the songs in the Other section, by going into diskmode, use Finder and delete the 14K songs.
    Good luck!

  • Ipod classic not showing up as a device

my pc is not recognizing my ipod classic as a device...it shows up sometimes as a device and when I click on it, it disappers and then locks up my pc.....please help

Sorry with the minimal info that you provide, this is all I can suggest.
What do you see on your iPod screen?
Can you see your songs Menu on your iPod screen, if you can't, then the ipod need charging, or restore.
Can I assumed, you are running iTunes on Windows OS and that your iPod is formatted using FAT32 and not Mac OS format.
However, iTunes will prompt you to Restore, if it is not the right format for your Window OS, Mac OS X iTunes can handle both FAT32 and HPS+ (journaled).
Your 1st post says sometimes it appears on your PC and hangs if you click on it, sound like your iPod harddisk is dying and taking a long time to validate

  • My ipod classic won't show in itunes after a restore

My ipod classic would only show apple logo. So I restored it following the appe support instructions. Once this was done it said do not disconnect, ipod will appear in itunes. But it doesn"t and there is still the apple logo on the screen of the ipod.
    Any idea ?
    Thanks

    Be patient please.
Your iPod hardisk filesystem need to be repaired
Use DiskUtility, select your iPod, click First Aid and press Repair.
However if you want to troubleshoot it yourself.
To change from diskmode to normal mode.
    Disconnect the iPod from PC
press Menu and Center button for 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON, then let go of the buttons.
This will bring you to Normal iPod mode, if your iPod harddisk and battery are good.
If you hear clicking sounds, during the reset, your iPod hardisk is dying.
    Good Luck!

  • Storage space full of "other", computer won't recognize iPod is plugged in

I just downloaded about 100 songs onto my 160 gigabyte iPod Video Classic, making my number of songs only about 1,300. My iPod says its storage now only has 1.9 mb left. I only have about 10 videos and no photos, but the "other" section of the storage content bar takes up a ton of space. It had none before. How do I remove the "other" from my iPod? Now my computer won't recognize any iPod when I plug it in, and I've tried multiple plugs.

Connect the iPod to a USB2.0  port, on the Computer itself and not a USB hub or those found on the Apple keyboard.
If iTunes launch, close it back.
If your iPod is found on your Desktop, then run DiskUtility, (if not then Reset the iPod while connected to the Mac)
    Select you iPod
Click FirstAid Tab on the right window.
    Press the Repair button.
After Repair finish, iTunes may launch and ask to Restore, this will delete all the data in your iPod.
if iTunes did not launch, just Reset iPod again while connected to your Mac.
Always don't use USB hub or the Keyboard USB port or else your problem will come back, as the power is insufficient from these shared ports for iPod harddisk write process.
    Good Luck!

  • Transferring songs from my external HD straight to iPod

    Hello all
Is there any way to transfer songs that I have stored on my external HD to my iPod without putting the files back on my computer? I connected my iPod to my computer without thinking to change the settings to manual, so I lost some stuff that I had already deleted from my computer after transferring to my external. I would just put everything back on my computer to put them back on my iPod, but it's basically TV shows I bought on iTunes that I don't have enough space for on my computer.
    Thank you!

  • Clicking noise and freezing during updating

Hello everyone, if anyone could help with the following problem i'd be more than grateful. my ipod recently wouldnt connect to windows and started making a clicking noise. to try an resolve this i have reset and restored. I thought this would solve the problem. However, when ipod is updating it seems to freeze, stop updating and clicking noise starts. the following message appears
the specified I/O operation on E: was not completed before the time out period expired.
the only way i can disconnect is to shut the computer down. My playlists appear but with no songs.
this is my 2nd ipod (clicking noise also happened so ipod was replaced in warranty) which is now out of warranty. I think my hard drive might be giving up? These discussions are my last hope! Do I buy a new ipod (possibly for the same thing to happen)? or is it worth getting it serviced? Does anyone out there have any ideas?

Even i have a Ipod with a click wheel and is behaving similarly.
Once i connect it to the PC (using USB) it shows the "Do Not Disconnect" sign forever and even iTunes does not recognize it, the hard disk is making some clicking noise and after some time windows returns timeout error "The specified I/O operation on E: was not completed before the time out period expired" !!
I think we are in the same boat, What do we do ???
    Thanks

  • Can't transfer video in video section of iPod!

    Hi guys,
I converted a music concert to H.264 mp4 using Instant HandBrake program.
I imported into iPod but it loaded into Movies section and not Video.
When I played it back, it kept stopping.
Can someone please tell me how I can import it into the Video section and not Movie.
Also, can someone help me figure out it plays for a little bit and then stop?
    Anyone please,
    Thanks a million,
    Waqar

I think your iPod harddisk filesystem is going kaput. I can suggest that you connect to iTunes and click Restore, so that the iPod will be reformatted with a good filesystem.
    You can then sync.
Just make sure that the iPod is not connected to a USB hub port, connect it directly to the USB 2.0 port behind your PC. Don't use any USB port that are on keyboard or Screen monitors or the front of the CPU box.
Similarly do the same for your external harddrive, when you do the sync.
    Good Luck.

  • TS4006 Lost Ipod

how can i make my ipod make noise, so i can find it

In order to locate a missing iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch you have to have an iCloud account, you have to have enabled 'Find My iPhone' (or equivalent) on the device before it goes missing, and it has to be on, not wiped, and able to connect to a network. If any one of these conditions is not true then it's not possible to locate it.

  • My iPod wont display songs even though it syncs them and sometimes it crashes iTunes. How can i Fix This???

I have 160 GB iPod classic it worked fine for the first few months i had it now it wont sync, if it does sync it doent display the music, videoes, podcasts, etc.or it crashes iTunes, if on the off chance it doesn't do either of those things then it takes forever to sync, and it skips certain songs that worked a minute before on it and it rarely ever plays video. i tried restoring it, formatting it, troubleshooting it.so can anybody help???

If your iPod harddisk hasn't gone  kaput yet, then try my suggestion below or else send it to Apple, if it is still under warranty.
Antivirus has a tendency to freeze Itunes sync Operation with Ipod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your Ipod filesystem, so all the freezing symptoms point to this problem.
    My suggestion.
Connect your Ipod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after checkdisk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
    Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your Ipod to the PC
When Itunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well, since you got such a huge library.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.
    Good Luck!
