Ipod has music, but didn't install on computer yet!

Hello there...I am a new Ipod user and I downloaded a library from a friend's library BEFORE installing my Ipod software. I've been told there is a way to have separate drives, but am having a VERY difficult time finding out how. Someone mentioned two drives?? Please help me save the existing library I have so I can download lots more!!! =)

ALl of my friends music was from CD'S, his and even some of MY CD's that WERE PURCHASED!!!!!!
You have song that YOU did not purchase and he has songs that HE did not purchase.
If you downloaded music from his CDs, that is stealing.
If he has music from your CDs, that is stealing.

I found my old ipod touch and it says the ipod is disabled and to connect it to itunes but when i try to connect it to itunes it says cannot connect cause ipod has passcode but i cant unlock passcode cause ipod disabled. Please anyone have an idea?

Check carefully. Perhaps you are trying to copy 9 GB plus 1.3 GB for a total of 10.3 GB. That would give you the message you see.

Yes it's possible to sync music back from a iPod back into iTunes that (I assume) wasn't purchased on the iTunes Store.
Apple allows iTunes Store purchases on devices to be reversed back into iTunes, just not cd rips and stuff like that. For that it's a one way trip to the device from iTunes.
I likely can't suggest such software here, but if you visit iLounge you can ask what is the latest software that works for your platform.
Really it only takes a mere few minutes to backup your iTunes Library and stick in a few cd/dvd's or a external drive. iTunes even has a menu command for it to make it oh so simple. Please use it and backup all your data.
Hard drives fail, computers burn up, thieves steal, stuff gets forgotten. Plan for something happening because it will.

HI, i transferred my music to my new laptop, when i sync my ipod (5th gen) it says' syncing, then says completed, but no songs are on it... i have tried difference USB ports, i have reinstalled itunes, and i have restored the ipod... but keep getting the same? Help please.

Alright so here's the 411. My ipod has an approximate 1100 songs on it. My previous laptop broke down so I had to get a new one, with an obvious 0 songs. So iTunes has this lovely feature that likes to duplicate my current library to my iPod. See the dilemna? Well so is there a way that I can keep all the songs on my iPod yet add new ones from my iTunes library now?

Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
