IPod Hi-Fi charge with which model?

Hi All,
I got a iPod Hi-Fi few years ago with my iPod nano 1st generation. Running happy, last week, the connector for iPod nano broken, I ring up the call center, due to the iPod nano is very old, I decided to get a new iPod with my iPod Hi-Fi. Here is the problem. the new model of iPod can not be charge with the iPod Hi-Fi.
I am wondering which model of the iPod (up to which model?) can be charge with the iPod Hi-Fi?
It is no point to plug it in without charging it!
Looking for any advice.

Can iPod classic be charged with the iPhone's or iPad's charger?

There shouldn't be any issue using one of those chargers.  When I need to charge something, I just connect to any 30-pin connector/charger that's closest.

  • 2nd gen ipod shuffle will charge with one computer (vista) but not the other computer (windows 8).  Please help!

My 2nd gen ipod shuffle will charge on my old vitsta computer but not my new windows 8 computer. Does anyone know why that might be? The new computer recognizes the ipod and I can see everything on it, change settings, etc. it just won't charge. Is there a reason as to why this should be happening?

Just bought a refurbished 2nd generation ipod
shuffle. I am running the very latest version of OS X
and iTunes on an iBook G3 600 mhz with the slower USB
ports, not 2.0 ports. The ipod mounts and is
regognized by itunes, but I cannot seem to register
the ipod from itunes, it always has an error message
when I submit to register (all forms are filled out
correctly). The registration window in iTunes shows
that this ipod is formatted for Windows (from the
previous owner I assume) and may be causing my
    problems?
No. ALL shuffles are FAT32 format.
The other problem is that it will not sync and
transfer any music from itunes library. I am trying
to transfer simple mp3 files that should be compliant
with the ipod specs. No luck even after multiple
restarts on the ipod. Any help would be appreciated!
    Thank you.

  • IPod won't charge with Apple dock

For some reason, overnight, my Apple dock no longer charges my iPod touch. I set my iPod in the dock and the yellow caution sign pops up and says that charging is not supported with this accessory. I did not update any software whatsoever on my computer or iPod, and up until this time, the dock worked just fine to charge my iPod. I tried powering down my iPod, restarting my Mac, and cleaning the connector on the dock with a q-tip dipped in alcohol. Nothing worked. The only thing I can think to do is reset my iPod. Any other solutions to try to get my iPod to charge via the dock?

  • IPod won't charge with car charger or on stereo dock..

A couple months ago, my iPod Nano (1st gen) stopped charging with the car charger and my stereo dock for no apparent reason. Is there some sort of setting that got switched in iTunes that prevents it from charging from other sources, besides the computer?
It charges just fine when I connect it to my PC...but it just doesn't charge when I connect it to the car charger, or my stereo dock...
    Thanks in advance.

No, iTunes probably wouldn't be affecting your iPod's charging from anything but a computer.
Have you tried resetting your iPod?
Press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for about 10 seconds.
If that doesn't seem to work (you might need to try it quite a few times), try taking a look at this:

  • My ipod won't charge with USB or AC adapter - only Firewire

I recently bought a 3rd gen 20 gig ipod of ebay and it won't charge through USB or AC adapter. When I charge it through firewire, it loses its charge fast, so I am assuming the battery is dead. This still doesn't explain why it won't charge through USB or AC. Does anyone know why this might be? Please help!

good to know that 3G ipods don't charge through usb - but I still don't understand why an AC adapter wouldn't work. I can't even figure out the charging patern - it seems that when I plug it in through USB it drains the battery, but the battery life varies. One minute it will have full charge, then the next it will turn off and say it is empty, then the next it will have half life, all without plugging it in. Frustrating...

  • Ipod will not charge with wall charger or computer

Until maybe 2-3 days ago, my ipod was working fine.  Now, when I plug it up to be charged, it won't.  Not with the wall charger or the cable that connects to the computer, which are all Apple products and charge my ipad.  The computer won't even recognize that anything is plugged into it.  There are no error messages.  Any help?

Hmm, that's weird. I've used the iPad charger to charge my ipod before with no problems. It's more like wall adapter that I can insert  the Apple usb into.
But, I've used both cables, the one that came with the ipod/pad and neither are working.

  • Can I use my Ipod Mini A1070 charger with the 4th gen Shuffle?

I have the old Ipod Mini which came with the A1070 charger.  Would this charger be OK with the 4th generation (current) Shuffle?
The connections all fit properly but I was concerned about the compatibility between how much power was going into the device from the AC outlet.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the response.  Just got the Shuffle home and the Ipod Mini charger is not compatible.  The connections don't fit.  The connections do fit on my I-Pad charger and I've heard stories going both ways that it will work and it won't work.

  • Why won't the iPod Classic 160GB charge with the iPad charger?

I found out the hard way that the iPad's 10w charger which works on my iPad-1 and on my iPhone 4s and on my iPod Touch *does not* work/provide a charge to my 2nd gen iPod Classic.
I had gone to Europe with a full charge on all of my devices, and on the long flight I used both the iPad and the iPod. Once in Spain, I left the iPod in the hotel safe; the phone and iPad were used throughout my vacation, receiving a charge every day via the 10w charger and European duckhead. The night before I left, I plugged in the iPod, knowing that I would need it for the return flight. Imagine my surprise the next day at the airport when I discovered that the iPod was practically dead. Before boarding, I verified that the charger itself (with the European connector) was still working on both the iPad and iPhone, and it was; but as soon as I connected it to the iPod...nothing.
When I eventually got home to the States, I sat down with both the 10w charger and two or three of the many other USB chargers I have accumulated over the years. With the exception of my ancient firewire connector, every single one will charge every single device-----except for the 10w charging the iPod Classic. The iPad will even get a charge from the non-10w charger; it just takes a very long time to get back to 100%. If I could find my 3rd gen Nano, I would try that, but I'm not sure where it is.
What gives here? Why won't the 10w charger work on the iPod Classic??

I finally got curious enough to get a young person's eyes to read the stuff on the bottom of my iPad Mini charger: 5v 1a which equates to 5W using Ohm's law P=IE (E=IR).
So that beng the max charging rate of a normal USB 2.0 port explains (derived from above posts by Bilbo_cheshire and CMJRoss) why that iPad charger does work when some of the larger iPad chargers do not work with the iPod. The current is limited so it does not cause the iPod to sqeal .

  • Ipod 5 wont charge with new cable

The old cable of my iPod 5 broke, so when I got a new one(couple of weeks after it broke) it wont charge anymore. The first time I plugged it in with the new cable my iPod started up and charging, but when I swiped right on the home screen it turned off, then I could see that "battery low you need to charge before using" screen. Waited for about an hour but it wont start up just black screen. Tried to turn it on with the power button and home button but it doesn't react in any way, and my computer won't recognize the device at all.
The new cable is "Scanpart" "Apple Lighting Kabel". I think it's an official one.
    Any ideas? Thanks for help.

  • IPod will not charge with car adapter

My iPod mini is the older of the two iPods I own, so I use it in the car when I travel. I understand leaving an iPod in the car to charge messes up the battery, but it is okay with me since it is much older. Recently, the mini has not been charging at all when I plug it into the car. Restoring has not worked, though I can try it again.
Any ideas on what I can do?

Sounds like there something wrong with the charger/connection in your car. I occasionally have to remove/replace the cig lighter charger I use in my car; I can tell something's wrong when the red "pilot" light doesn't work (on the charger).

  • 3rd Gen iPod won't charge with USB connector - Is that normal?

I have the above iPod, and I noticed that when I tried to plug it in to charge it with a newer USB connector it will not charge. It will however, let me update my iTunes music. Is this normal for an older iPod?

I believe that is correct. That iPod was often called the iPod with 'dock connector', and as this chart shows, won't charge via USB.

  • My ipod isn't charging with the ihome, but is with the usb cable?

I can charge my i-pod with the usb cable, but two days ago, it stopped connecting to my i-home dock.  my i-phone still docks to it, i don't know what happened.  please help.

Make sure the iPod is full seated in the dock

  • Ipod won't charge with mac or adapter

only two days ago i was able to sync my 5th generation 30GB ipod with my macbook without any problems. the next time i tried to connect it to my laptop, nothing happened. the usb cable wasn't recognized and my ipod did nothing (even the "do not disconnect" screen didn't show up). so i tried connecting my ipod to my power adapter. again, no response whatsoever. the thing is, my ipod works perfectly otherwise: it still plays music, videos and functions normally except for the fact that i can neither charge nor update it. i tried reseting it multiple times and still no change. now my battery is running really low b/c i can't charge it
any suggestions as to what i should do? i really don't want to have to order a new ipod

Did you check the docking port and connector for any kind of debris or lint?
Can you use another USB cable?
Did you try to reset the iPod by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?

  • IPod won't charge with wall charger?

i have tried to charge my ipod touch 4 gen  by a wall charger, or mains ac adaptor.  it wont charge!!  what wattage of voltage etc do you need to be able to have enough power to charge it?
btw isnt a apple charger, but using the apple usb cable

So frustrating - I am having the same problem.  I have 2 shuffles and BOTH will not charge (via computer or wall charger)  It seems strange that the first one (several years old) worked fine until recently when BOTH seemed to have died.  Will not charge at all....
