Correct. When you did that, you voided all warranty/support, & forfeited the right to an out of warranty replacement.
There was nothing wrong with the screen I bought,
And, exactly, how do you know that? Since Apple DOES NOT sell iPhone parts, there is no official source for genuine parts. Thus, many on the market are counterfeit & produce nothing but problems.

If the songs are not in your iTunes library, download them as indicated here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519. Then sync them to your iPod.

You have to put in a credit card number so you can purchase a game thats free or 0.99 cents or higher then you have to fill in other stuff then press next on your ipod touch or computer then it says you have succesifully created an apple id! Update it from iTunes on a computer as described at the bottom of this article; there isn't a Software Update option in General on iOS versions prior to 5.0. It can only be updated directly to the newest iOS release supported by the device’s hardware, which is iOS 6.1.6 for an iPhone 3GS.

What a mess the Apple ID, and associating emails, ID etc has got itself in

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up

I have had this same issue but thankfully fixed it. Follow he steps below:
Sync your iPhone with you iTunes therefore your info is backed up. Unplug your phone.
Go to Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings
Once your phone has reset and come back on answer the question until it asks if you want to back up from itunes Click this then plug your phone in.
After everything has sync'd back to your phone everything should work fine.

My guess is you are being asked for identifying information involving a credit card. Your credit card is not charged for free apps - although of course some apps have offer in-app items that may cost.
