IPod in car question

I purchased a new vehicle that has a auxillary port that I can use to play my iPod.. However, I have been noticing that my ipod's battery drains really fast while listening to it in this mode.. Like about 2 to 3 hours.. I have a 5g ipod.... Could I get a charger and use it while I listen?
Any help would be appreciated.....

Is this common for iPods to drain fast while listening to it via the aux port in your vehicle?

  • IPOD 2 Car Adapter question

I have a Peripheral iPod 2 Car adpater installed in my car that I used with my G4 iPod. It worked great and flawlessly with the G4.
This week I bought a 16g iPod Touch and, although it works with the adapter, the iTouch stops playing music about every 2nd song. Sometimes re-hitting the play button starts it again and sometimes not. The Touch works without problems on its own so, it must be something with the adapter.
I've also noticed that the iTouch seems to get quite warm to the touch when plugged into that adapter..
Can anyone tell me if, in fact, this particular adapter is not fully compatible with the Touch??
    (I have the 1.15 firmware -- not the 2.0)
    Thanks.

Yes, you can use it to charge your new iPod.

If you cannot get the iPad to respond in any other way, you may need to restore the device.
Connect the iPad to your PC and launch iTunes. Select the device on the left side and then click on the Restore button in the summary pane of iTunes.
But Read this about restoring your iPad before you proceed.

If that will not work, you may need to use recovery mode. Read about that here.

  • Ipod Lost/stolen question Find Iphone App

My son has had his ipod stolen and I have a question I can not find an answer to in the discussion pages. On his Ipod I have the wifi turned on and ask to join networks turned off. The find my Iphone app does work on his Ipod, but my question is this will the Ipod connect to an open network that it has never seen before with out being told to connect to the network? My son has a passcode on the screen so it is locked. I have also placed it into lost mode from the find my Iphone App. So now I am kinda just waiting for it to go online so the app will locate it. Am I just wasting my time waiting or will the Ipod auto connect to a network by itself?
    Eric

    Correct
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing

  • Ipod / iPhone car charger

What is the difference (if any) between the iPod & iPhone car charger?
When I plug my iPod car charger into my iPhone the alert +'This accessory is not made to work with iPhone. Do you want to turn on Airplane Mode?+
I have not tried to actually connect it to the car charger as yet and would appreciate any ideas or experience of same.

You can safely ignore that message (and not use Airplane Mode). It just means the accessory is not shielded against cell phone signals (i.e. you may get some static on your car radio).

  • IPod Ready Car Stereo

    Hello,
I am going on a summer vacation to California via mini van. I want to purchase an ipod ready car stereo so the kids can play all their music and mine on this long road trip. Some have aux input, some usb connection, and others an adapter that you buy along with the stereo. Anyone have one of these that can give me their experience? Thanks.
    Gilbert

Check the link below. They may have an adaptor for your existing factory radio. The advantage of this is that it will likely be cheaper then a brand new head unit and with this, you can have the iPod charge while playing. I installed this recently in my car and I'm very happy with it.

  • New To iPod...questions

I'm thinking of buying an iPod so I can download and listen to audio books and radio talk shows while my kids are practicing sports. I'm concerned because specs call for "Windows XP Home or Professional SERVICE PACK 2 or later. I have SERVICE PACK 1. I can't update because other software I use requires SERVICE PACK 1. Will I experience problems? Not be able to download? Will my computer not recognise iPod?
Another question. Which iPod is best for me? I rarely listen to music. Will be listening to longer radio shows & audio books requiring larger file capability.
BTW, I have high speed connection, so downloads shouldn't be a problem.

If you are just running McAfee with updates, and you aren't running any other antispyware software, I'll guarantee you your apple cart has lots of vermin in it. I would update your video editing applications (Premiere?), move up to SP2, and start using antispyware software along with your McAfee.
The huge security holes in SP1 far overweigh your concerns with the updates, or, as I said previously, make this an editing station that has no connection to the outside world.

  • Simple Ipod Nano Music Question

Ok on my nano I have probably 20 cd's loaded on there and they are all nicely organized in the "Albums" Folder on the Ipod.
My question is I have a CD that my brother made for me with all different songs on it and different music groups.
I want to put it on the Nano, How would I do this because I do not want these songs appearing in the "Album" section of the Nano, because these are obvilusly not full albums by one Artist.
    Any suggestions or help?

Being its a "Personally created" CD it should show up blank in iTunes. Everything will be blank except the "Name" field, there you will see "Track 1" "Track 2" "Track23" ect ect.
You will have to manually type in the name of each track before importing it

  • Broken ipod and apple care question

    Hi
I bought my 2nd gen nano 7 months ago and it is now broken. I've done everything I could beside opening it. I wanted to know if i bought apple care now and then send them my ipod right after if that would be problem?
btw the problem is that my songs gets played at 1/4 of the speed (makes the songs intrusting but...)
    thanx
    vince

I don't think the OP dropped his in the bathtub.
Hopefully you haven't tried to turn it on, connect it to the computer or anything like that.
If you are good with electronic devices you can take the iPod apart and set it in a cool, dry place and leave it there for several days. For pictures on how to take it apart go to http://www.ifixit.com.
If you aren't good at taking things apart, just set it aside or buy some silica gel packets (like the ones that come in boxes with things you buy, but you need new ones) and put them, and the iPod, in a sealed plastic bag and let it sit for a couple of days.
After it dries, connect it to power (a wall charger is preferable) for at least 30 minutes then Reset it (hold down the menu and center buttons for at least 6 seconds). If it starts up connect it to your computer, Restore it in iTunes, and then fully charge it.

  • Connecting 5G ipod to car's tv stereo

    Hi all!
I have a question for you...
can i connect my ipod to my KVT-827DVD ?
There is the spec. for this radio...
    http://www.kenwood.it/home.php?page=scheda&section=car&id=10346&QT_version=7.1
Can I see the video on the ipod directly on the KVT-827DVD by using the Apple iPod AV Cable ?
    Thanks !!!

    Hi ,
i have the Kenwood DDX8027 and it works very nice with the KCA-iP500. You can see the songs, albums, arists, playlists and play, move to next/previous while using the head unit controlls (or even the steering wheel).
I am only having problems displaying video on it (see the topic with title 'Dock + iPod Video Out' for more information).
    Cheers
    Chris

  • Hook iPod to car speakers.

I've never done this before, but my friend is trying to get his iPod hooked up to his car speakers. If it helps, the car in question is a 2006 Toyota Corolla LE. There's a multi-disc CD player.
    ~ Thanks in advance.

get an iPod car player. They are usually a little on the pricey side...i saw one for $40.00 at Lowe's here in Texas, but what you do is hook it to your car's cigarette lighter. Once it is powered up, plug in iPod and it will transmit on a radio frequency (the better, more expensive ones transmit on several optional frequencies to prevent interference by local radio stations) Simply tune your car's radio to the frequency and it will play. Then you can blast it with speakers.

  • Ipod in car with kensington fm transmitter

I've been using this in my car for ages and I love it. It transmits my music to my car stero and charges my ipod..
My question is this: my iPod charges with a firewire, right? So can I charge my iPhone from the same thing and have it broadcast to my car radio? If not, why not? It seems online all charges are sold for either iPod or iPhone but not both.
    Thanks, Susan

    thanks
