Ipod in recovery mode is not recognized by itunes

My Ipod has entered recovery mode, but it is not recognized by itunes.
It has the recovery mode screen with the Itunes logo and all, but even when I disconnect it, shut it down, hold the home button and connect it again, Itunes won't recognize it (I have already tried with two different computers, PC and MAC).
Any ideas?
Thanks.

- Have you tried another cable?
- I would try placing the iod in DFU mode.

  • IPhone 5 stuck in recovery mode. Not recognized in iTunes for Windows

    Hi,
My iphone 5 stuck during update to 8.2. It is now frozen in recovery mode, showing a 'connect to itunes' screen. The problem I have is that (the recently upgraded to 12.0.1) itunes is not recognizing my device. I have tried all of the suggestions here: iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch not recognized in iTunes for Windows, to no avail. I have not removed iTunes and reinstalled to test that, as I am concerned this will destroy the backups of my phone - which I will now desperately need once the phone is recovered.
    Has anyone got any suggestions?
    Cheers

  • Ipod nano 1st gen is not recognized in itunes 10

I updated my computer system to leopard 10.5.8 as well as the latest itunes 10. I bought a new ipod nano 6th gen, and it syncs and works fine. The problem I have is my old Ipod. It is detected by my power mac on the desktop only the icon it has is a folder, and when I open it is in blank. I open Itunes 10 and it doesn't appear. And I tried to follow the instructions on apple support, tried all ports, tried reseting the ipod, and it is still not showing up on itunes. Can someone help me with this please?
Also, a white line showed up on the screen, does that mean the screen is broken? I can still see everything going on normally on the ipod but not where the line comes up (middle of the screen).

Then it's time to call Apple tech support while you are still under warranty.  Every iPod comes with complimentary, single-incident telephone technical support within 90 days of your iPod purchase.   If you also purchased AppleCare, then your warranty is extended for technical support and hardware coverage for two years from the original purchase date of your iPod.

My ipod touch 4th generation is not recognized by itunes or my computer.
It has a list of instructions as to how to fix it and I followed them until it said to load the driver for the device from a disk.
I have no such disk nor do I know of one.
My computer said the driver is present but there is a problem installing it.
Does anyone know of what disk they are talking about?

  • Ipod touch 3g in recovery mode is not recognised by itunes, help?

Yesterday, my ipod 3rd generation would not respond on the right hand side of the screen. I was told to 'put the ipod into recovery mode and then restore it', i have done this but it has just stayed on the connect to itunes picture on the screen. I have repeatedly tried to connect to itunes, the first few times it came up with 'error 1604' and after that now does not recognise the ipod at all.
I have also changed the AMDS (or whatever its called) to automatic, but no change.
If you need any other background information, just ask.
Any suggestions would be very welcome, thankyou in advance.

Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

  • IPod Touch stuck in recovery mode and not detected in iTunes

I was trying to update my iPod Touch (currently 3.1.3), so I downloaded the 4.3.3 firmware (I didn't want to download the 4.3.5) and connected my iPod to my computer, opened iTunes and hit Shift+Restore. Then, I chose the 4.3.3 firmware and proceeded with the restore.
    However, the following appears:
    Error 1602
I pressed OK and the restore process stopped. But, my iPod is stuck in recovery mode. Every time I reboot it, the recovery mode shows up. It's also not detected in iTunes although my computer recognize it as iPod Touch Recovery Mode.
Please help me solve this. I can't use my iPod.

Error 1602: Try the following steps to resolve this error:
Ensure proper USB isolation troubleshooting has been performed, and test with a known-good cable.
Follow the steps listed for Error 1604.
This error may be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
Also, when updating/restoring an iDevice, iTunes contactact the Apple sever to verify that you have the latest iOS version.  If not, it will not allow an install if an earlier version.

  • After installing 11.2.2.3 iPod Classc. is wiped/"dead" (not recognized by iTunes, Win7 find the unit in explorer) and my iPod Touch refuse to comm with iPod interface in the car. Just wait for a iTunes update?

    Hi,
I installed 11.2.2.3 2 days ago and have since then not been able to sync my iPod Classic (not recognized by iTunes anymore and alll data has been wiped but show up in Win explorer when in Disk mode with my label on it "Nik's iPod") my old iPod Touch appear to have all data left but doesn't communicate with my car anymore.
Nedless to say none of the other Apple devices in our house will be updated or connected until this is resolved.
Is this related to the iTunes update?
If so should I just wait for a new update to come out that can help me get these things sorted?
I have tried most of the different remedies listed in this forum to no avail and being computer illiterate (not comepletely but anyway) I just want to know if this is a known problem that I can successfully fix with a bit of fiddling or if its time to seek out a genius bar somewhere and get some help.
    Nik

    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the help but I am unfortunately still not able to get my iPod Classic to connect. I have tried all the tricks in the article that you linked to.
One thing is that when I reset the iPod (menu and center until the logo pops up) I get a critical error in iTunes and it shuts down. Could that indicate that my problem is with the iTunes installation rather than the iPod?
I have tried to re-install iTunes before but maybe I shpuld give it  a go again?
    Brgds,
    Nik

  • 5th Gen iPod Touch w. iOS 7 not recognized by iTunes 11.1

On Wednesday I updated my 5th gen iPod Touch to iOS 7, and ran the latest iTunes 11.1 update on my MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.5.
For two days, everything worked fine, but today, when I plug in my fully charged iPod it is not recognized by iTunes.
    Some salient facts:
         1. My iPod shuffle is recognized by iTunes without problem when I plug it in to any USB port on my Mac.
         2. I tried all of Apple's troubleshooting suggestions - restarted iPod and computer, tried connecting to different USB ports on my Mac.
         3. My iPod touch will still charge when plugged in to my Mac.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

I did try all of Apple's troubleshooting suggestions.  It was the cable - Thanks for the tip!
It didn't occur to me to suspect that my still-new, Apple-brand cable went bad the same week Apple released two major software updates.

  • My iPod has quit; no lights, not recognized in iTunes or Computer

Yesterday, my Shuffle (2nd generation) quit while i was running in a light mist/rain. It's done this before and i can wait 3-5 hours and it will play again. Now however, it will not play. No lights come up on it (Green, Orange or Red). It also is not recognized in iTunes or on my computer so i can Restore even if i wanted to. Any ideas?

Looks like you've already done the first thing you shouldn't do in this case, namely to connect it to a power source UNTIL it's been allowed to dry.
To dry it, put it in az plastic bag filled with uncooked rice. The rice will draw out the moisture. Let it sit in the bag for several days...
IF you consider yourself adept with tools:
