IPod intergration with Sony BD 370 Blu Ray

Have a 120 gb iPod, recently purchased a Sony Blu Ray BDP S370. Can access the iPod from the front USB connection. However it will only allow folder by folder access to files, and does not give real names for files. Does anyone know how to fully utilise this capabilty. It is presently not connected to the internet.

I have the same problem on my HDX 16 have had no blu-ray playback for over a year and now I have updated to windows 7 the drive will not recognise duel layer DVD disks either.
I have tried all the various fixes listed, none work.
This seems like a firmware problem but no new firmware is available from HP (unlike other manufactures) and HP apear not to care.....

Is it possible to create DVD Templates with Motion for burning Blue Ray DVDs from Final Cut Pro X?

As far as I know, motion templates can only be used with DVD Studio Pro. FCP X only lets you add a background image to the DVD menu.

  • I have an iPod touch 4th generation and have tried to connect it to my Sony BDV-E970W blu-ray player. The player does not recognise the iPod. What can I do to fix this?

I have an iPod Touch 4th gen player and cannot connect to a Sony blu-ray BDV-E970W player. Sony system does not recognise the iPod. Do I need to link the Sony to the net and upgrade the software on the dvd player?

As the other replier said, contact Sony. It may not be compatible with the iPod.

  • Dropped and glitched sound with dv9700 when watching Blu-Ray over HDMI connected to receiver

I have hooked my dv9730nr up to my receiver (Onkyo TX-SR606) via HDMI, which then passes video through HDMI to my Panasonic plasma.  When I do this, Blu-Rays have an audio glitch every 4-6 seconds, which sounds like either quick repeated sounds or a half-second pause in audio.  The audio and video otherwise are great.  PowerDVD Ultra reports that I am outputting 5.1 Dolby Digital via PCM, and the sound from my speakers support this.  With other video, including 1080p .WMVs that I've made myself, there is no problem.  I've disabled the laptop's monitor, and am only using the TV as my display.  When I bypass the receiver, and hook my laptop straight into my TV via HDMI, there is no problem, but my TV has no built-in speakers, so no audio is being passed via HDMI.  I have no other receivers with HDMI to test my laptop, so I'm not sure that that the problem is not with the receiver.  I've tried disabling all audio output modes except for 24bit 48KHz under Realtek Digital Output in the Playback Devices control panel.
I'm not worried about this, since I have a dedicated Sony Blu-Ray played on the way, but I am disappointed in the HDMI audio performance of this laptop.  I suspect the problem lies in the Realtek HD Audio drivers, or something wrong with the related hardware on the motherboard.  I updated my drivers from v6.0.1.5494 A to v6.0.1.5548 A, with no change.  I will try driver Vista_R213 off the Realtek website, although I'm not sure that this is compatible with my laptop.
    Any ideas/suggestions?
    Specs:
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit SP1
    Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 @ 1.66 Ghz
    3 GB RAM
    nVidia GeForce 8600M GS
    RealTek High Definition Audio

Well slap me twice and call me Sally, it would appear these new Realtek drivers fixed the problem.  The drivers can be found here, but be prepared for a slow connection to the Realtek website.  Now I can indeed enjoy video and sound the way it's meant to be done via Blu-Ray, kudos Realtek for fixing this problem.

  • Help with Connection Settings for Blu ray-to-Airport Express-to-TC?

I'm trying to use the network capability of my Sony Blu ray player and having no luck. I have the Blu ray connected via ethernet cable to the Airport Express, which in turn is connected wirelessly to my Time Capsule. The problem I'm having is horrendous because I'm so lame and no amount of forum or internet searching has helped.
The Blu ray network settings wants the following information:
    IP Address
    Subnet Mask
    Default Gateway
    DNS Server (Primary)
    DNS Server (Secondary)
Do I get these settings from System Preferences>Network>AirPort>Advanced or do I get them from either the Airport Express or Time Capsule using AirPort Utility?
I tried giving the Blu ray player a static IP Address in Time Capsule using DHCP Reservations and the Blu ray's MAC Address, but that's not working either. Between the AirPort Express, Time Capsule, cable modem, and MacBook Air there are numbers everywhere and I just don't which set to use.

I have tried most of the suggestions on these forums to get my Samsung connected to the airport express network but so far no luck. Anybody have success out there with step by step suggestions?
Are you trying to connect it to your AirPort Express wirelessly? (That's probably the case if your AirPort Express is your only Wi-Fi device, as its Ethernet port would be connected to your broadband modem.)
Is your AirPort Express "N"-capable? What type of encryption are you using on your network?
Have you installed the "supplied Wireless LAN Adapter"?

  • How to program Sony RMT-VB100U Blu-Ray remote to control Vizio TV

I want to eliminate some remote controls...I have a Vizio TV and want to turn it on/off and adjust volume via my fancy little Blu-Ray remote Sony RMTV-B100U that came with my BDPS3500, BUT the pre-programmed brands do not include Vizio.  How do I make this remote work with the Vizio, or am I just screwed and need to buy a tool belt to carry all these ****** remotes around?  I'm not buying a universal remote when I have plenty of remotes that should do the job.

    Hi nphiker,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
The supplied remote " RMT-VB100U " is not a universal remote control. However, you can control some televisions which is not a Sony TV. Please refer to the link below on page 44 for the supported TVs.

  • Sony SBD 360 Blu Ray and WRT54GS connect to network. Help!!

I am having trouble connecting this Blu Ray Player to my network. I have a cat5 cable from the router to the Blu Ray Player. I called Sony but they are telling me it is a setup problem with my router. All help will be appreciated.

On you DVD player, where you set it for DHCP, there were probably a number of various settings, hopefully something like Static IP, Subnet Mask, DNS & Gateway. Sometimes it asks for 2 Domain Name Servers.
So if you had set the IP of the WRT to 192.168.1.X/255.255.255.0, then assign  the IP of your DVD Player to  192.168.1.20/255.255.255.0.
Most gateways have an IP of 192.168.1.1 but you can find out the IP by going to any of your connected clients (PCs) and from the Command Prompt type "ipconfig /all" and look for the DNS and Gateway settings. Write them down and then make those settings the same on the DVD player.
You can search on Blue ray forums.

  • Export to Blu-ray from Final Cut Pro 7 with LG BE12LU30 External Blu-ray

    Hi all
I've got an iMac with Snow Leopard and I'm editing HD video in Final Cut Pro 7. I've created AVCHD discs on DVD to play in my Blu-ray player but now I want to create Blu-rays that will play in a regular Blu-ray player.
Has anyone got any experience of using the LG BE12LU30 External Blu-ray Re-Writer with FCP 7? I've checked other posts and it seems one user has had success with an earlier LG Model.
Basically if I connect this drive and use the Final Cut Blu-ray export option in share, will I be able to burn a playable Blu-ray?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi I have one of those drives too .. I use FCP to edit export the movie using 'current settings' and then import that movie Compressor .. alternative I also have Toast with the Blu-Ray plugin .. it gives a nice menu template and works well. http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/toast/plugin/overview.html

  • Major issues with Airport Extreme and Blu Ray Players

I've been working with this for several days now, and am at the end of my rope. Hopefully someone has some answers.
I've got the original 802.11n Airport Extreme. I've had it since it was released, and have had no real problems up until now.
At the beginning of May I got a new TV with a Samsung Blu Ray player. Model BD-C6500. The first one died halfway through our first movie, and I took it back. The second one worked fine for a few weeks, and then all of a sudden told me that it couldn't connect to the network.
This was about the time that we had a power outage, but all devices were hooked to surge protectors, so I'm guessing that it was just coincidence, but I thought I'd put that here just in case.
Well, the Blu Ray player was a real puzzle. I would try to connect, and it would connect, but not get an IP address. I'd do it again, and then it would but couldn't get past the router. I'd do it one more time, and it would work for a while, and we could watch Netflix. Then it would stop working again.
I finally took it back and exchanged it, thinking that it had some problems. The new one did the exact same thing! Brand new C6500 won't connect, or can't get IP, or can't get past the router, but sometimes works.
Frustrated, I went back and exchanged it for an LG, model BD570. It logged onto the wireless right away, downloaded the firmware update, and worked perfectly on Netflix and Pandora. Success! Until this morning. Now it's doing the same thing, where it can connect, but can't get past the router. No internet connection.
I've got two laptops, a PowerMac, two iPhones, and an TV running on this router with no problems. Settings are mostly standard, with security set for WPA/WPA 2 Personal, with a 13 digit password. I've tried both DHCP and Static IPs for the BD Player. I've used both the router address along with outside servers for the DNS. I've removed password security. I've tried WEP. I've changed the multicast rate. I've done a full reset of the router.
Any help would be appreciated. Wired access is not an option in this location, and I don't want to drop $100 on an Aiport Express if I can help it.
    -Ehren

**My Airport Express access point firewall needed to be set to "HOST", then everything worked wonderfully.**
Before the "HOST" firewall change my symptoms were as follows:
The wireless setup process would work sometimes, other times not (not result in a successful connection). Also, when it did work, it would be lost when the c6500 shut off.

  • Can I used the 'Random' shuffle button on CS6 with a standard DVD (blu-ray/web?)

    Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if I can use the random shuffle button support on CS6 with a standard DVD?
    Thanks,
    Praga

No... not on a DVD that you play in a player attached to a TV... from the user guide PDF
Chapter PlayList support for Blu-ray and web DVDs
Encore CS6 includes new options that provide more flexibility when you play chapter playlists:
    Sequential: Play chapter playlists sequentially.
Random: Let the player randomly select a set of chapters to play.
Shuffle: Let the player play all the chapters in any random order.
Encore CS6 provides only the Sequential option for chapter playlists of DVD projects. Find these options in the Chapter PlayList panel. In addition,
Encore CS6 supports Random and Shuffle options for chapter playlists in web DVDs.

  • Linksys e4200 - Best Connection for Streaming on Sony S580 wifi Blu ray Player

I have a new e4200 and I am trying to improve the signal for my blu ray player.  The player is down one floor frm the router and I am able to get some reception on the blu ray.  But there are times when I get spooling interuptions and drops of the network when I am doing something like Netflix.  I have attended to all the potential physical contraints on the router that I can (ie, things in the way, barriers, etc), and have done basic setup changes like change the channel to remove interference.
I am not a techie but I learn stuff from internet and can fix a lot of problems.  This one is a bit tougher.  I think that I should be able to get a stronger signal with this router and want to know how I can optimize my setting to achieve this.  With a signal meter I read a signal strength of approx -70dBm and speed of up to 12mbps on the onscreen meter...but this fluctuates from a low in the 3s, 4s and 5s.  As I said the player is down a level and about 20ft east from the router with a few unmovable walls and the obvious staircase.
Any help of setting to solidify the signal would be appreciated.  Thnx in advance for the help.

i just thought of another issue that may be helpful.  the wireless receiver on the bd player is 802.11 b/g/n and is on 2.4 ghz band.  sorry for all the adds, but i figure more info is better than less.
    thanks

sorry...one things to add.  When i do a speed test on the desktop wired to the router i get about 20 to 24 mbps, so think this would be the top out i get on speed from any wireless connection.  hope this helps some.
    thanks.

  • Blu-Ray: Anyone ever replace the cd drive with a after market blu-ray drive

I have replaced cd drives in the older iBooks and back then they used a standard cd rom drive.
Anyone know if you can put an aftermarket laptop blu-ray drive in a MacBook?

I don't recommend you do that. I wouldn't trust rumors, but here is one for you. People have said that Apple might be releasing new macs with blu-ray support. So I don't recommend you replace the drive. Let me tell you again, it's only a rumor, so don't count on it.
