If I was in your shoes, I would choose to restore the iPhone with iTunes and then choose to NOT restore a previous backup.  I'd then go on to set up the phone as though it were totally new, and choose the stuff to load onto it.
The reason I'd go through that trouble.. even though it meant losing a lot of settings and having to set stuff up again .. is because I wasn't sure I could trust the backup that it's restoring from.
If you have trouble again after doing the fresh reload -- especially if it's soon after you do it -- you may have a hardware issue with the phone, such as faulty flash memory or a processor chip that's failing. If that's the case, you'll want to consider your repair/replacement options at that point.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
    Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Ipod 4th Generation connection problem

Ok i um i just got the ipod chromatic (4th gen) for christmas, i was really excited, well after maybe a month of having the ipod and addind and removing songs from it..the ipod just doesnt connect to the computer. When i plug in my ipod to my pc i hear the start up beep but itunes doesnt show that its connected and on the ipod screen it doesnt say connected. Now the usb chord works fine because i have a wallcharger and that chord works fine on the charger. So can anyone tell me wat is the problem????

I don't use mine with Windows, but try using another USB port (directly off the computer instead of a hub, if possible).
If that doesn't work, start the "5R" process:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/nano4gen/
And, if you have another computer available, try connecting it to that, just to verify it's an iPod issue and not a Windows or computer problem. You don't have to sync to it, but just see if Windows / iTunes recognizes that it is connected.
    Hope this helps...

  • Possible design flaw in Nike+iPod kit causes connection problem

I've been having some similar receiver/sensor connection problems as documented on these forums. Here's a page and video that diagnoses the problem as being a possible contact connection issue. Try squeezing your Nano to see if it makes contact. I'll try mine when I get home.

    12" powerbook g4 1.33 Mac OS X (10.4.6) 1.25ghz ram

I think you meant you have the iPod nano software, version 1.2. iTunes 1.2 will definitely not work. 6.0.5 is the current version of iTunes The iPod options appear after plugging in your iPod, then choosing preferences in iTunes (or clicking the little iPod icon in the bottom right of the iTunes window). Nike + iPod prefs are in there too.

  • Software update connection problem

Hi, I'm trying to run a software update and I keep getting a cant find update server problem. There is no problems with my internet connection which is working fine.

  • IPod touch 4 iOS 5 connection problems

hi i just downloaded the ios 5.0 gm and the new itunes and when i restored my itouch to 5.0 the wifi stopped working. id type in the password and next to hte name of the network it had the loading sign. But when the wifi icon would finally appear at the top id go into youtube or safari and it would say no connection. thanks

Hard to say depends very much on where you found the version of iOS % to download and install seeing as how Apple hasn't release it yet.

  • IPod 30 Gb connection problem

    Hi,
I've buy a new 30 Gb iPod and now I'm trying to connect it to my desktop pc (windows xp service pack 2) without success!
I've installed iTunes and iPod software then rebooted and then connected the usb cable to my pc and... nothing appens, the beautiful iPod lcd screen is still black!!!
Have you got tips? Or maybe a solution to my problem? I'm going mad!
Thanks for reading this... hope you have a solution.

When you loaded the iPod software I presume you mean the iPod updater? If so have you loaded the latest version of it from the Apple website. The one provided with the hardware is often 1-2 versions out of date.
Will the iPod switch on ok when not connected to the PC? If not then it could be a flat or faulty battery. Plugging it into the PC will charge a flat battery regardless of whether its connected to iTunes.

  • IPod fifth Generation connection problem

    Hi
My teacher has a fifth gen ipod and she got the brand new itunes update on her PC and now when she plugs it into her ipods dock, windows does not see the ipod at all, but the ipod says "Do Not Disconnect" Please Help!

I have the same problem. Have tried _all_ of the suggestions including 4 of the "R"s - the Restore option is not possible, two different USB cables, 3 different computers (2 with latest iTunes update, 1 with previous). Still the same result - nothing! The ipod works fine apart from the connection issue. When attached to the computer "Do no disconnect" is displayed, but the ipod does not appear anywhere on the computer and iTunes does not start - even when I double click the icon.

  • IOS update resume problem

My question is that I'm trying to update my ipod touch 4g to the version 4.3.3.  the file size is 650 MB as shown in itunes. Its a very large file size which approximately takes not less than 4 hours in my current connection. The problem is that when i pause the update and then again resume, the update again starts from 0 MB..it does not resume!!!  this is not fair!!!..  so is there any other way to download the file??????????

  • How i solved my iPod to iTunes connectivity problem

After reading so much advice on this forum, I just wanted to tell you guys about the problem I was having with getting my Windows XP machine and iTunes to communicate with my brand new 80 Gb iPod Classic, and how I finally managed to fix the problem (I hope).
The problem was that my iPod communicated very poorly with my Windows machine and especially with iTunes. When I first bought the iPod, I was able to get it to work with iTunes sporadically. After three days of struggle I was able to sync my 3100 song music library to it, but then things began to deteriote. It got to the point where the iPod would not sync with iTunes, if iTunes recognized it at all. When I connected the iPod to my computer, it would show up as a USB device in the Windows device manager, but if I tried to open it in Explorer I could see no folders. iTunes could see it, but it would insist that it was not compatible with Windows and that I needed to restore it. When I tried to restore it, I'd always get an "unknown error" error message. It was impossible to connect to it or restore it!
Finally, I figured out what the problem was. It was my HP PhotoSmart C4280 "all in one" printer! As soon as I disconnected that thing from its USB port the iPod suddenly was fully recognized by iTunes and I could sync it again. Furthermore, the syncing process was about 10 times faster! It was a miracle!
I believe the issue had something to do with the on-board memory card readers on the printer. Those show up as a letter drive under Windows, whether you have a card in them or not. I believe the HP USB driver was somehow interfering with the Apple USB driver, but that's just a theory.
Even with the iPod working, I still had a problem because the printer could not be connected at the same time as the iPod. I managed to fix that problem too (I think). I went to the HP support site and downloaded the latest printer driver software. Now both the printer and the iPod seem to coexist peacefully. I may not be completely out of the woods, but right now it looks promising.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my little success story with you in case there was someone else out there having the same problem.

You might find the HP doesn't just interfere with your iPod. I have an Epson all-in-one photo printer/scanner/copier with card reader that interferes with EVERY other external drive I connect. I tried my best with Epson support but got nowhere. Problem occurs in both Vista & XP, with at least 3 memory keys, 2 500gb external drives & the iPod. If I turn the printer on, all access to other USB drives is disrupted. Sometimes I can view the top level folders (cached?) but they appear to have no content - scared myself a few times at first. It's a bore but there seeems little I can do until Epson acknowlege the problem & issue new drivers.

  • ITunes 5.0 Update/Connection problems

Has anyone heard if Apple plans to do anything to correct the issues folks are having. My brand new replacement Ipod is not being recognized by my computer, or Itunes, and I have gotten a message saying my Ipod is too old, I've gotten messages saying connect my Ipod when it's connected. What are you guys going to do to remedy this or do you give a dang now that the new video Ipod is out? Your silence seems like indifference. I keep reading the same issues over and over again, and no one addresses it. It seems that the only thing that gets your attention is class action lawsuits. Please..someone do something..let us know if you are in the process of correcting the problems. Some of us have music we've purchased that we can't use. Are refunds on the horizon?

I haven't heard what they may do but you should send them feedback. If they get enough complaints maybe they will fix the problems!
