IPod / iPhone App selection

Dows anyone know of a good site / page where I can read reviews of the iPod Touch / iPhone App offerings.
There are some great apps there to buy, and for free but they seem to be lost in the 95% of them that are utter tat. So is there any external site where the apps have been reviewed, or even catalogued with a search better than that offered in iTunes. I don't want to waste days scanning through lists of apps looking for anything that is not just a waste of bandwidth.

Looking for iPod/iPhone app data in Time Machine

For some reason, when my iPod Touch upgraded to IOS 4.3.1, iTunes told me something went wrong and I had to restore to default settings.
After that was taken care of, iTunes asked me if I wanted to restore from the most recent backup of my iPod Touch, and I said yes.
But when I checked afterwards, all data from my apps had been lost. Before I did further research, I first tried to sync AGAIN ... thus overwriting any chance of finding my data.
SO ... Now I would like to go back in Time Machine and find the iPod Touch app data from last night's sync, before this all happened.
Where can I find this data on my hard drive so that I can recover it from a Time Machine backup?

Ipad apps and ipod/iphone apps?

If i want to buy angrybirds HD for the ipad am I also purchasing it for my ipod touch or do i have to pay again for the ipod touch version? Thanks in advance.

If they are two separate apps, as they are in this case, yes, you have to buy each one. Some apps work for both (app icon has a little + in one corner) so you only have to buy one app but it is optimized for both devices.

Workaround to No "Select All" Functionality in iPod/iPhone Mail App?

Has anyone come up with a workaround to the lack of a "select all" option in the iPod/iPhone Mail app? Right now, if you are presented with a long list of unread messages, your options are to either read each and every one of them individually, or delete them individually. I was wondering if anyone had come up with either a workaround, or solution provider, in this area. Yes, I have submitted the suggestion to Apple to include this functionality in the future. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I posted the suggestion enhancement to Apple via the "Submit Feedback" option this evening, I wouldn't hold my breath but with no apps or workarounds out there, it's really up to Apple to step up and provide this basic albeit necessary functionality. I really can't be the ONLY Mail user that goes through manually deleting a slew of emails messages every other day, it's ridiculous!

IPad Genius keeps recommending iPhone/iPod-only apps

I'm seriously annoyed now by the Genius implementation on the iPad..
The selection button clearly says "iPad Apps", but still I get recommendations for tons of iPhone/iPod-only apps.
Is there any way to limit Genius to only pure iPad and Universal apps?
Also I wonder where the "iPad Upgrades" option gets its data from.. I keep getting recommendations for apps that have nothing to do with the apps I have already installed in iPhone versions. Weird interpretation of "upgrade"...
(also, can I please get the "purchased but not installed" search option that the iPad has also on my iPhone? that'd be fab. )

Ive never used that but I think there is a find ipod app. But im not sure. The ipod might have had to have it on?

How can I turn my ipod on remotely so that I can use the Find my Iphone app (sound mode) to find it

I have a ipod 5 gen and I lost it somewhere around the house. I've used the Find My Iphone app, but it indicates that its offline. So I'm guessing it ran out of battey or its turned off. That's why I am asking if theres anyway that I could turn my ipod back on in order for the sound to be played from FMI app. Thanks alot for any future help.

You can't, When off it is dead
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

You got the new iphone????? I have same problem. I transferred audiobooks to device to find no audiobooks on device (despite it being in iTunes as if it was). Have you found a solution????? I even tried to change import settings on format transfer but hasn't worked.

I do not believe there's an app for that on PC. I do recommend getting the iCloud dashboard for PC and to try it there. I would myself if my PC was working.

How can videos be uploaded from iOS iPhoto to Flickr when they cannot be selected. (The Flickr iPhone app always gives a vague error message when video upload is attempted.)

I am trying to upload short MP4 videos from my iPad 2 running iOS 5.1.1 to Flickr. These videos were taken on a Panasonic FZ150, and I am able to upload videos from this camera from my iMac when I am at home. (I am currently thousands of miles from home, which is why I want to upload from my iPad.)
I can upload photos from iOS iPhoto, but when I select videos, the selection count does not increase, and so they are not uploaded.
There is no Flickr app for iPad, but I tried the iPhone app, and was able to upload photos. However, when I try to upload videos, I always immediately get the error message:
"An error occurred. We could not upload your video. Please try again."
Frustratingly, there is no indication of what the error is.
Finally, I tried the Flickr website uploader page, but all the "Choose File" buttons were dimmed, so apparently there is no attempt to integrate ithis page with iPad,.
I have had the same experience several times over the last few weeks in different locations, including private homes and hotels, none of them corporate offices with strong firewalls, and I am not running any firewall software other than standard iOS.
I welcome any suggestions, workarounds, etc., that will enable me to upload videos from IPad to Flickr.

I am not familiar with Flickr, but found their support page at <Flickr Support>. You may get better help there than here. I get the impression that the App is somewhat buggy.
The iTunes preview page indicates the App is for iPad as well as the iPhone. <Flickr App Preview>

It sounds like you need some clarification.
Find my iPhone = Find my iPod = Find my iPad = Find my Mac: a service that lets you locate any of those devices, assuming you turned it on on that device before you lost it.
iCloud: Find my iPhone (and friends) is one of the many iCloud services.
That being said, did you turn on Find my iPod on your iPod before you lost it? If so, go to icloud.com or use the Find my iPhone app on anyone's iOS device and log in.
If you did not turn on Find my iPod, then you're out of luck.

There are some iPhone only apps but for the most part all of the apps are touch/iPhone compatible.
If you are thinking you can use iPhone specific apps because you are connected via Skype, those are not going to do it for you as they are often restricted to the availability of the 3G network.

Assuming you had Find My iPhone enabled in the iCloud settings of the device, it will show only if it has a connection to the internet.

Only if you had the FindMyiPod service configured before you lost the device, and it's connected to a working Wi-Fi network, and has not been restored to factory defaults by whoever stole it. If you didn't do that, I'm afraid you are out of luck.
You should report the theft to your local authorities and change any and all passwords to accounts you may have set up or accessed with the device immediately. Apple will not do anything to help.
