Ipod is disabled connect to itunes
hello!! my ipod is disabled and it says connect to itunes..i have followed many steps recommended by the community and now it shows coonct to itunes..but itunes doesn't show my ipod not even computer recognizes it..plz tell me how can i solve this problem
This one is not too bad to correct. You need to put your iPod into a recovery mode and then restore it. Here's the basic instructions on how to do that.
1. Unplug your touch from your computer.
2. Try to turn the touch off - hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the Off slider. Turn it off.
3. Start iTunes
4. Hold the Home button down and while continuing to hold it down, plug the iPod into your computer. Keep holding that button until iTunes responds with "iPod detected in recovery mode". Follow the on screen instructions.
Unless you get rid of the lock code, you will always have to do things this way when you have a problem.

this is the second time i have forgotten my passcode to my ipod touch, the first time i had no problem with resetting everything, it worked fine, this time it says ipod is disabled connect to itunes, so i plug it into my laptop and i sit there staring at the side bar on itunes till it comes up with my ipod, but it doesn't, when i do this on another computer it lets me restore it, but then it stops halfway and said cannot do this since ipod is locked with a passcode, please enter the passcode and try again, but if i cant get into it how can i put in my passcode? is there any way that i can find out my passcode, or any other way i can reset my ipod
its an ipod touch 4th generationOptions for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten passcode:
Restore (and reset passcode) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected (or the device was never connected to a computer) you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:
iOS: Unable to update or restore - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - recovery mode (e.g., cannot connect to computer last used to sync device, iTunes still asks for a password)
If recovery does not work there's:
DFU mode: http://osxdaily.com/2010/12/04/ipad-dfu-mode/

I put the password in my Ipod and now I am trying to put it again but it is not working....I tried to connect with the Itunes and it is not working because to the Itunes work with my Ipod, I need the password first, which I do not know. In my Ipod is showing "Ipod is disable, connect to Itunes". I was trying to connect but I can't...what should I do ?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

iTunes: Restoring iOS software

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I have restarted my ipod touch a countless amount of times, and it is stuck on a screen. on the screen it says, "ipod is disabled, connect to itunes". i have also tried connecting it to itunes, and itunes says i have to type my passcode in for it to connect. but the screen is frozen, so i cant. what do i do?
For both
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I just bought a new Ipod ios from a friend and she didn't reset it before she gave it to me and when I try to connect it to my laptop it keeps saying "Ipod is disable, connect to itunes"and it says to put in the correct passcode but I don't know what the passcode is and now I can't get ahold of my friend that sold it to me. So my question is: How do I reset the passcode and the Ipod touch so that I can sync it to my laptop and so that I can enjoy my new Ipod Touch?

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
Did all steps of the restore complete without error? I doubt it. -
