IPod is disabled.  How to fix?

iPod 5tg generation reads 'ipod is disabled'.  Followed online instructions but to no avail.  Any other remedies available?

Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

My ipod touch 5 is disabled and says connect to itunes. The problem is that itunes will restore the ipod and everything i have will be gone forever. I DONT have a backup. Is there a way for me to fix this without resetting it. Thanks in advance

Maybe a data recovery company can help. It is not easy since the Disabled/screen-lock passcode is a good security feature.

If it's disabled from entering the wrong passcode too many times, you'll have to restore it to remove the passcode.  If you're running iOS 7, assuming you have Find My iPhone enabled you'll need to force it into recovery mode in order to restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.

My IPod Is Disabled How Do I Un Disable It?

    Hey there Clairehew,
It sounds like the iPod Touch is disabled due to a forgotten passcode lock. You can use the following article to reset that named:
iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
There are different instructions depending on whether or not you are doing this with the computer the device normally syncs to so be sure to follow the correct steps.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,

  • TS2446 my ipod is disabled how do i undisable it.

my ipod is disabled how do i undisable it

If it's showing the disabled screen due to too many incorrect passcode attempts then you will need to connect it to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPod and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPod into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
