Ipod is Disabled, my kid forgot her password ??? Help

My daughter made a password, then while at school tried over and over again until it dissabled itself. How can I unlock it, I connected it to itunes and it said the ipod must be unlocked before it can be used.
Someone help, whats the solution ????

I tried that, didnt work. Just pops back up with "Ipod is Disabled" message. Wont even let me try to figure out what she used as a password. Has been like this sent she brought it home from school.
FYI, its an 8G touchscreen Ipod, the newer version with the speaker (bought mine only a month earlier and have no built in speaker)

I havent touched my Iphone 4s in ages (about a month). I came back to it the other day. I forgot the password, so naturally it disabled it and is telling me to connect to iTunes. In the meantime, i had got a new computer and didnt back up the itunes files (because im an idiot). Connect the iPod Touch to your iTunes library in Recovery Mode using the instructions in this Apple support document. Then restore it to factory settings.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
