Ipod is not recognize by any computer

I have the ipod for 1.5 yr, and suddenly he's not recognize not matter where I try to connect it.
I tried 4 different computers
Tried disk mode
Tried reset
Tried changing cable
I've tried it all, but none helps.

Well me too but I only enjoy it for about 1 month and half. ***!!!! now I came to this forum and realize that this problem is so common on this device.
I tried in 2 different laptops, Toshiba and HP, tried with different Desktop. I even tried in Imac G5 with latest updates and didnt work, I tried resseting, tried different cables and nothing worked, I dont know what to do and the I mac authorized center is so expensive. Another money wasted.
Men there is no support at all. I should buy a Creative Zen or a ZUNE at least this ones sound decent compared to the other competition.

IPod Nano Not Recognized by any Computer

Hi. I found an iPod Nano about a month ago. And I plugged it in to my computer and nothing, the only thing it does is it Starts to charge for about 5 seconds...then immediately stops...What I don't understand is that my iPod Shuffle works perfectly, I plug it in, then iTunes pops up. But I have tried this iPod Nano on about 5 different computers, with iTunes and nothing. I have a Windows Vista, with iTunes ver. 8.0.1 the newest. Can anyone help please?

I'm not sure if it charged when I hooked it up to my roommate's computer, but it definately didn't register either. If I put it on the dock it plays so the port is fine, but that still doesn't help me sync it to my computer.

Ipod touch not recognized on any computer

i have just updated my ipod touch from 1.1.2 to 1.1.4 and now it is not recognized by itunes. i have tried multiple ports on both my mac and pc.
itunes will auto-start, and my ipod charges, but does not show in itunes or finder.
i went to my console messages and i recieve:

i have restarted everything and reinstalled itunes, but nothing is working. any suggestions?

It will put your iPod into recovery mode and should make it visible to Itunes.
Then you can restore it again and hopefully for the last time.

Ipod didnt recognize by any computer (Help me)

I have a ipod video and some days ago I bought a new Ipod Nano 2GB.
But this ipod nano cannot be recognize by any computer, I tried in 2 differents PC, a HP Notebook and a Macbook and none of them could recognize this ipod nano. For the computer is just like I didnt connect anything, and in the Ipod appear the screen that the battery is full, but in fact it's not full and it's not charging.
I tried to reset the Ipod Nano, but after that I still have the same problem.
My Ipod Video is recognize by all this computers and I test with my friend's Ipod Nano 2GB and it worked too.
Does anyone has any idea? I really dont know what to do anymore.

Here in my country there's no apple store, I went to a company authorized by apple to fix apple product´s and the answer that they give to this problem was that it happened because of the software, and they need to upgrade the software and the software isn't in the warranty...
They wan't to charge me in US$ 20,00 to fix it..
Before I discuss with them, because I think that they are trying to get my money, I'd like to check if someone know if this problem can happen because of the software?
And how can they upgrade my ipod software if no computer recognize it?
Another thing that I cannot belive is why I have to pay to fix my ipod that I bought 2 weeks ago and never worked?
Does anybody know if is this correct?

Ipod 5th Gen not recognised on any computer - will charge via usb

Hi,
Does anyone have a fix for my ipod which is not recognised by any computer. Have tried the software reset, putting into disk mode, but no computer will see it as a device. The ipod will however charge by the usb.
I have tried another 5th Gen on the same computer which is recognised everytime.
Cannot use the system restore as the computer does not recognise it..
I need helpppppp!!

You will need to restore your phone as a new one using the itunes on your computer. This WILL erase everything on the phone but it will let you change the name of the phone and then you can add content to it.

i have had my ipod mini for eleven months and this is the first problem i have had with it.
i went on a vacation to flordia, and while i was there my ipod crashed. i had dropped it once a few days before the crash, but it continued to play my music after i dropped it.
when i go to turn it on the apple logo appears, then the depressed ipod.
my ipod isn't recognized by any computer or tunes. when i plug it into my computer, the 'do not disconnect' screen doesn't even appear. all that happens is the apple logo screen, then the depressed ipod screen, then a recharging screen appears that is stuck on the lowest point possible.
i have already tried the "five R's" and everything else in the support pages, and so far they have helped me none. all they do is bring you around in huge circles, and you end up on the page you started on.
i run a windows xp, and have everything fully upgraded.
i know, i know, many of you are having similar problems, but could you please only post if you have an answer, thanks.

I know!!! It worked just fine one day, computer recognized it and i could add or remove songs at me leisure, but now I can't even charge it on a computer becasue it doesn't exsist to it. I also tried the five steps, but you can't restore the settings on it if the computer can't find it. Finally I had my sister bending the charge piece in the ipod just for it to show up, I restored it and it didn't make a bit of difference! I lost all 800 songs on it but I still can't charge it or add songs. If you find anything out, let me know!!!

I realize this question is six months old, but just in case this helps someone. My PC suddenly decided not to recognize my IPod. I jumped through all the hoops for 24 hours trying all the suggestions and then just sat and took inventory of everything notable that was different from the last time I had synched it (a year earlier). I'd finally freed myself of Norton and installed Avast and several sites mentioned that as a possibility but no. In the end it was the new HP Officejet Pro 8600 software. I did a custom install and opted for the USB rather than wireless hookup. First off it took my old Canon scanner hostage and choked it into retirement. Then it started fondling Photoshop and searching for images in every file it could access. But the best trick was that it will just not let you synch your IPod for love nor money. Now I am a dinosaur and still use XP but I'm pretty sure the same thing happens with Windows 7. Fortunately, the fix is easy enough ***doink***, yank the printer's USB cable out of your PC and everything is fine.

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.
