Ipod is not recognized by PC or itunes, how to fix the regedit?

I recently use the Spy boot and destroy part of my registry and now my ipod is not being recognized by my PC or iTunes, I remove and download again itunes, also downloaded the usbstor .sys and .inf and nothing, I restore my pc to an earlier point and still nothing, I am going nuts!, please help.

    Hello kevin
Check out the article below to guide you to the proper article to get your iPod shuffle to show up. You will need to see if it shows up on your computer as a device in My Computer section in Windows Explorer. Then it will help you pick the right one.

Is the device reasonably well changed and active on the same Wi-Fi network?
If you need to connect the USB cable wrap the end of the USB connector in some thin tape to stop it getting caught or use a USB extension cable.

I have 4s iPhone , I download the iOS 7. Now the front receiver microphone is not working , please help me that how to fix the problem.

I live in South Africa, and I had the same problem with my iPhone 4.
After weeks of frustration and swearing, I was in the process of restoring my phone to a previous iOS. To do that you need to turn the "Find my iPhone" option off, since i turned it off, my problem was solved. No need to repair anything or revert back to old iOS.
***** that i cant use Find my iPhone, but atleast i can use my phone.

    Hello Amber,
I would be concerned too if my iPod was not recognized by iTunes.  I found a couple of articles that might help with this.
If you don't see your iPod in the My Computer or Computer section of Windows, follow the steps in this article:
iPod not recognized in 'My Computer' and in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1369
If Windows recognizes your iPod but iTunes does not, follow the steps in this article:
iPod: Appears in Windows but not in iTunes

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

    would that make any difference?

  • IPod classic not recognized by mac or itunes.... but otherwise works fine.

I'm wondering if there is any way I can save my music. I had to reformat my macbook due to corruption of whole disk encryption. My only copy of my music library was on the iPod itself. I was able to restore about 2/3 of my collection from the iPod to the mac. However, at one point the computer became nonresponsive while the iPod was mounted. Had to force a reboot. The iPod was not recognized after that. I connect it to my mac, it says "connected", but iTunes doesnt recognize this, and it doesnt appear on the desktop.
It works fine. All the music and movies, etc., are there, as well as other data I stored on it (which I also want to get back) (judging from free space indicator), but I can't mount it.
    I've done everything traditionally recommended.
    -Five Rs, numerous times
-Tried with different macs, 10.5.8, 10.6.1, different cables
    -Started iPod in disk mode
-Ran all the diagnostics, they're all fine
    -Played with iTunes helper
    -Reinstalled iTunes
-Tried on completely different macintosh, same problem
For some reason this thing really doesnt want to mount, but when I use the iPod it's clear all the data is right there on it.
Will I have to bust open the iPod and take out the hard drive, and mount it in another enclosure to get my data back? That's the only thing I can think of at this point. Any other ideas?
    Thanks-

  • Installed Yosemite and now lost apps and also my App Store does not open. Does anybody know how to fix the problem?

Some weeks ago, I installed OS X Yosemite, as shown on my App Store, that was a "System Update available for my IMac 2009". Followed all the steps, normally and installed it as I did many other times ago (with the Maverick, Mountain Lion, OS X).
Just after the installation, I noticed that every single folder or program that depends on "Apple", stopped working.
Examples: Office package opens normally, so as Firefox. But, IPhoto, ITunes, Safari and App Store itself do not.
That is causing me fear, because even trying to reinstall Yosemite or return to the one I had before, using App Store became impossible. Even the "Apple Icon" on the top left corner does not work. I click, it flashes, just IF it was ready to open, but nothing happens, seams that have something stopping the "loading process" of the softwares.
Does anybody know how to fix the problem, please?
    Thanks in advance. Regards.

    Thanks for your attention.
I Tried before, but the Mac App Store was not responding either, and worse, after 5 years, There is no free phone support
I ended up solving it by reinstaling the Yosemite pressing "comand + R"
    thanks anyway

  • IPod Shuffle Not Recognized In Windows Or iTunes v7.0 - What Now?

    Hello everyone,
I am having the same problem as many who have posted here. I have upgraded my software to iTunes v7.0.1.8. I also accepted the auto update for my iPod Shuffle - 512GB 1st Gen to v 1.44 (I believe). Of course, now my Shuffle is not recognized in iTunes and is only recognized in Windows for less than 5 seconds (as I have monitored it). I am listing below all of the actions I have taken today.
As none of these have worked, my question is now what? Does anyone have any other suggestions before I take the dreaded step of calling support? Any help is appreciated.
I am not happy with this upgrade issue at all. I expect much better from Apple.
    Steps Already Taken:
    1. Reset iPod.
    2. Set Terminal Services to "Manual" and restarted my laptop PC.
    3. Changed all USB Root Hub entries power management options to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option" and rebooted.
    4. Assigned my external hard drive a different letter as it was assigned to "E" and tech support documentation suggested I changed it - I changed it to "M".
    5. I stopped the iPod Service via the Services and Application interface from My Computer/Manage, reattached the Shuffle, and started the iPod Service. The Shuffle was still not recognized.
    6. I uninstalled iTunes 7.0.1.8, the Apple Software update and QuickTime. I deleted all temp directories; program files folders and all possible traces of all three pieces of this software. I also deleted my iTunes library. I reinstalled all of this software and re-built my Library. NONE OF THIS WORKED!
My 30GB Video iPod works fine and always has - it is only the shuffle for which I have this issue any only since the upgrade.
What do I do now? If no one has another fix, I will be forced to call Tech Support after an experience with them over a year ago I would almost rather throw this thing away!

qswh - I too cannot play the songs that are loaded on the shuffle. Additionally, I get a green & orange light when I plug it into a USB port and then I either get a blinking orange light or a solid orange light from there after.

  • Ipod is not recognized by computer or itunes and does not charge

Hi, so for a few months I've been having a problem with my iPod Touch 4th gen where when i connect the ipod to the computer it does not connect. My Computer says "USB device not recognized" and also I've recognized that my ipod doesnt charge either. When I connect it to a wall charger the ipod charges fine, but i can't sync anything or any music. I have no idea how to fix this problem :\

    See:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • 5th Gen iPod is not recognized by PC or iTunes

I recently purchased a new PC with Windows Vista home premium and shortly after transferred my iTunes library to the new PC. I heeded the warnings about waiting for the new version of iTunes before trying to connect my iPod. When iTunes 7.1.1 was released, I installed and attached my iPod to the PC and everything worked fine. I was able to sync my iPod and transfer music to it. I accomplished this several times.
Recently however, I attached the iPod and the PC did not recognize it. I have tried every suggestion available (the 5 R's - with exception to Restore since that's currently impossible, reinstalling USB drivers, rebooting, different PC's with different OS's, different USB cords, etc.). All this with the iPod fully charged. Other USB devices, such as my cell phone, external hard drive, etc. are recognized when plugged in, but the iPod does nothing - even when using the "Add Hardware" option. I even installed the MS patch to resolve the "safely remove hardware" issue between the iPod and Vista and still nothing.
The iPod still works - still plays music, still charges via USB, but I am unable to add any new music to it or delete anything from it. This is very frustrating. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this or does anyone have any other suggestions I could try? TIA

    Hi IVBama!
Okay, I've not sure if you've tried a couple of things yet:
Have you tried putting your iPod into disk mode, then connecting it to your computer? Follow the instructions in this article to force your iPod into disk mode:
    Putting iPod into disk mode
Also, a full reinstall of iTunes might be worth a try here.
Disconnect your iPod from your computer.
Go to "Add or Remove programs" in Control Panel. Find "iTunes" and "QuickTime" on this list, and remove them both.
Then, download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, to clear out the remaining iTunes and QuickTime installation files off your computer (see this MS document for information on it):
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Also, use this article to manually remove the left over files from installation:
Removing iTunes and QuickTime for Windows
After you've done that, restart your computer.
Then, go to this page to install the iTunes + QuickTime installation pack onto your computer again:
    Download iTunes - 7.1.1.5
Now, restart your computer once more.
After the computer has fully loaded up, open iTunes, and connect your iPod to your computer.
Does the iPod get recognized by your computer/iTunes, or not?
